Honestly, no hot water - okay a tad bit of hot water, enough for a lukewarm shower. I called down and was told to let it run. After ten minutes the water reached a peak of about 80 degrees. Great location, updated enough and nice linens but my room near the elevator was very noisy. Only got sleep during the hours of 3 to 6am. Extremely disappointed they don't have ear plugs available at the front desk.

Despite the fact that this little gem of a hotel is on a busy and nosy street, across from an abandoned building, it's still a great place to stay. The rooms were nicely updated and everything we could ever want for our vacation was just one block away. It was a great bargain for the price. We will definitely be back again.

Service is very good, room was clean with some Victorian style decor. Was able to charge iPhone in their I-station console. Rooms are somewhat small when having 2 double beds. I would have preferred a complimentary breakfast, given the price of the room.

The hotel was great. Location is amazing and we walked everywhere. The only draw back which is everywhere is the cost of parking is 30.00 per day at the hotel. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and it was quite good. I would definitely stay there again.

We were in a very noisy room the first night, with construction in the next building and the dumpster under our window, and the service entrance to the huge Westfield mall outside our room. I was awakened at 4a.m. from the nosie of trucks an then construction. The location is awesome for shopping and convention access to Mascone Center. However, amenities are not included (other than internet access). The rooms are very small. The gym is inadequate. The attached bar/grill is decent. This is a room only type of hotel so if you do not plan on spending much time at your hotel, it will suffice. The double windows […] are not sufficient for noise control as the street noise comes through very easily and the rooms facing 5th street are VERY noisy. The maid did not vacuum or empty the room trash during my 3 day stay which was a bit disturbing. There is also no heating or cooling so temperature control is all via the room windows (again inviting noise). The late check out of 1pm was a convenient perk but the "do not disturb" sign on the door did not keep the maid from knocking 2 times between 11am and 12:30 to ask when I was checking out. Read more

The bathrooms were tiny, but adequate. The room was clean. Could have used more than one chair. It was easy to get to BART, Moscone Center and SFMOMA. Lots of cafes around and a posh mall.

The hotel is a block from the shopping center on Market street and a short walk from Union square. It is also near Mission street. You can get on buses, BART, or the cable cars about a block away. Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference/trade show when the rates were jacked up. I understand why this is typically a lower-cost hotel. Pluses: Location, Friendly Staff, Historic Feel, Free Internet. Minuses: Dilapidated, Mediocre Cleanliness, Noise. We booked the hotel last minute for the World Series. Requested a king and got 2 doubles but the lady at checkin apologized. Parking was $32 a night! The paint in the rooms was coming off and there were some hairs on the bed. I travel a lot and the rooms were not comfortable cleanliness wise. Ok for an overnight stay.

You will be very surprised in how small the rooms are but if you are going to sleep it will do but if you are with family this is too small of a room. Location is one of the best thing going for it. One of the staff tried telling me that even though I had spoke to someone on the phone confirming it was okay to use my mother's card for anything regarding the room he could not help me.
