"hidden parking fees"
Directly across the street from Mayo Clinic. Clean, comfortable, helpful staff and good food at the onsite restaurant. BUT, they have a new policy that charges people who book though on-line services like hotels.com for parking. Was told if I would have booked through the hotel directly I would not have to pay for parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel to stay at would stay again"
very clean room and polite staff, nice rooms good pool, small hot tub would stay there again. Bartender was a little slow, great pizza.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Alex( I think that was his name) at the front desk did a great job! It was very busy when we checked in however he made us feel like we were the only ones there. The breakfast was great too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, but BAD Parking!!!"
This hotel was very nice. The front desk staff was nice to us and our son. However the parking situation is not what they claim. There are maybe 50 spaces for a hotel with 200+ rooms. You will have to park across the street at the Mayo Clinic ramp which they do validate for. Also we were informed that when checking out that we were going to be charged […] $12 plus tax for parking since we did not book through their corporate site. Was able to get them to waive the fee but had to go a few rounds with the desk clerk before she would waive it. Also the parking spots, if you can find one, are not sized for big family vehicle, such as our Kia Sportage. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pay in cash!"
Liked the hotel but I was billed for 4 extra rooms and I can't get anyone to call me back to fix the charges. Going up to cooperate office after 6 unanswered phone calls. Hard to tell they are over booking you when you check out, MAJOR PAIN, use Caution!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pay Cash, to avoid the headaches later."
Stay was great, would have recommended it until I got my bill and was billed for 4 extra rooms. When I called they have a totally different bill than what my credit card states and now I can't get a manager to call me back. Not happy with the front desk staff or management right now!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
worked out great for what we needed. Minus the fact that there was a very rowdy jr high boys basketball team there.. The pool was a mad house. But no fault of tr hotel. Service was pleasant and check in was easy. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, great beds. Truly enjoyed my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very satisfied - cean, quiet, comfortable, and close to the Rochester Civic Center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
We had a great, problem free stay. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and the room was just what we needed. I love the Caribou in the lobby as well as the ease of connecting with other buildings in the Mayo complex.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect place for a mayo patient!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was not clean. Bathroom floor clearly had not been cleaned and the blanket (between the sheets) was filthy. Have had good experiences here prior but this was poor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Kahler Inn and Suites - Mayo Clinic Area Dear Shawn, Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write a review of your most recent stay at the Kahler Inn and Suites. I'm sorry to here that you encountered some problems with your room not being cleaned. That is not the standard we strive for at the hotel, and has been addressed to improve in the future. We do hope to see us again in the near future.
"not great, not bad."
Clean but dated room. Check in was slow but workers were polite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Kahler Suites Experience"
Location excellent for Clinic patients and free parking. 2 small concerns....room temperature was difficult to regulate and food in the 1st floor restaurant left alot to be desired..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place next to Mayo Clinic"
The experience was good. Everything was fine. What can you say. The check-in & check-out went very well. The room was nicely decorated and clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"EXCELLENT LOCATION for Gonda, Mayo, Hilton and"
My parents and I have stayed at multiple hotel locations in Rochester for their medical appointments and procedures. This hotel has by far provided the best location, amenities and service. The rooms are large and clean, with small refrigerator and coffee machine. The hallways are wide and bright. caribou coffee shop and a great restaurant inside that […] serves breakfast lunch and dinner with a really diverse menu selection. Friendly staff. Directly across from the Charlton building and caddy corner to Gonda mayo and hilton buildings. If a wheelchair is needed, you can take one from Mayo and keep it next to your room to use the next day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect location for Mayo visit"
My adult son and I were in Rochester for a medical visit to Mayo Clinic. The location of the hotel was perfect, connecting us underground so we didn't have to go outside at all. The temperature was 10 degrees the week we were there. We especially enjoyed Crossings restaurant in the hotel. The food was wonderful and the staff made us feel like we were […] home. Carribou Coffee and Jimmy John's were just off the lobby. We would definitely stay there again if we ever need to visit Mayo. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I Will Stay Again"
This hotel has subway access to Mayo which made it convenient for me to get to my appointments. My room was very clean and the bes was comfortable. The only thing 8 wish was different was the scratchy, dated blanket on the bed. They just need to invest in newer, nicer blankets. Otherwise, my stay was great. Just a few minutes indoor walk from the Mayo. Clean, convenient. ..and the breakfast was above average. Will definitely book again when we are in town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient place to stay for a Mayo Clinic visit"
Anyone coming to the Mayo Clinic for appointments or treatment should consider the Kahler Inn and Suites. It is ideally located via the Subway system to the Mayo campus. The staff is overwhelmingly positive and upbeat which is very, very helpful when facing what could be life threatening news. The Crossings restaurant is good, the complimentary breakfast […] more than adequate. "The Rossen Reports & how he should visit Kahler"
The Today Show has an undercover reporter who reviewed several chains of hotels, small& large. After watching his sickening hotel cleanliness report,I'm buying a Black Light! Let me begin by saying I am Disabled and was accompanied by my son. At first, the room appeared clean.then the toilet over flowed. Housekeeping NEVER re-sanitized AFTER TOILET WAS […] FIXED. Couldn't get a LIVE PERSON from housekeeping the entire stay. Front desk phone rang no less than 10 times before answered. Front desk personnel gave incorrect city directions, provided no info on city attractions, food discounts, or free transportation. NO COMPUTER,NO STATIONERY,NO PENS, Room into bathroom is open so you can't get up in the middle of the night without putting the light on & walking up the other guest. No microwave. After tipping the housekeeper, she slacked off. The sink area never cleaned, all linens and bed covers not new and fresh.Same boring breakfast everyday. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient for Mayo."
Were there for one night for Mayo visit. The hotel floor layout is a little confusing but lots of elevators. Breakfast was more than we expected. Unexpected snow so the subway connection was really great.Genuine Expedia guest review

better wheel chair access in and out of std. roomsGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel. Extremely clean and comfortable. Very convenient to Mayo. I highly recommend it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent hotel that's close to everything"
I was visiting the Mayo clinic and stayed at this hotel. I really enjoyed the staff and how the hotel was conveniently located to the subway, dining, shopping and the Mayo clinic. Would definitely recommend it!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Dispointing and dirty. Not worth the price."
Unfortunately the hotel said their confirmation was for a standard double, I paid for a suite. They did not have any suites available and they refused to refund me the difference. I probably would have written it off as it was a close drive to Mayo Clinic, my purpose of being there. However-the shower had a large crack in the ceiling, rust in bathroom, […] mold behind toilet and there were stains on the comforter and curtains. Breakfast was mediocre, the hot items were gone and not replenished in the 30 mins I was there. I had expected a get away for the price but I received a less than par room, very disappointing. "Clean hotel, but not very good service"
The room was clean and I loved having the Caribou Coffee shop connected to the lobby, but we asked for extra towels and an extra blanket and didn't get either. When we asked for the blanket they said we would have to come and get it or wait about 30 min. I said I would come and get it with no problem, but then they called back and said they could actually […] bring it up. Great! But, then no blanket. Also, the hotel did not have enough parking in their attached garage to accommodate us since we checked in a little later. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy access to Mayo"
It was really nice to be located right across from Mayo and attached to the underground walkways. I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness. It was nice and quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our stay was quite enjoyable. We had super easy access to the facilities we needed to go to. The hotel was clean, our rooms were quite comfortable, and the staff was more than accommodating. We needed handicap equipment for our room and there was no problem at all getting it in a very timely manner. The recent renovation gave the hotel a much needed […] facelift...we thought it was beautiful! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Hotel Experience in this Century."
The room had a Queen size bed which left nearly no other space available. In other words, tiny room. The water temperature was tepid, towels minimal, no shampoo...even after asking the hotel staff for more towels...NADA. The only good thing to say is that it's located across the street from Mayo's Clinic. We stayed previously at the Kahler Grand Hotel […] which was very good, but this place is the pits. "Nice to stay here if going to the Clinic"
Very nice place to stay. Comfortable bed. Close to restaurants, coffee shop, right across the street from Methodist Hospital and the large Mayo buildings. Parking a a little problem, but we just had to park in a lot/garage a block away. We have stayed here before, and I am sure we will again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is conveniently located for easy access downtown area Decor is modern However the service lacks in quality, it is not properly kept up, both cleaning the room, and the facility. There is a lack of toiletries (it is only provided one sample of shampoo and 2 bars of soap) The offerings for the morning breakfast are partially healthy, the quality […] of food is low. The beds are uncomfortable and the pillows impossible to sleep on. Very dissapointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convient hotel to Mayo Clinic"
Easy access for check-in. No hassle parking. Clean room with all the required amenities. Professional staff and helpful. Good breakfast. However street noise does penetrate the hotel windows and airconditioner system.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to the Mayo Clinic"
Maid stole washing machine soap unopened from room as well as bottled water. Carpet was dirty. Corners to bathroom was black with dirt. Wake up calls were always ten minutes late. But it was cheap and close to the Mayo Clinic. Staff acted like they did not want to be there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Happy with beds and pillows."
The beds were comfortable and sweet smelling sheets. Very clean room and space to move around in room. It was extraly where we wanted rooms and appointments.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place for the Money"
We needed a place to stay near Mayo Clinic and this was closest to the buildling we were going to. We'd stayed five years ago at the Kahler Hotel, and it was fine, except that the room was extremely small--so it had a cramped feeling, and no real place to hang your clothes. This was much nicer for our purposes with two Queen beds and a separate bathroom […] and "clothes hanging" area. The room was clean and comfortable. this is not fancy-fancy, and yet very nice and very comfortable. I was amazed to learn that you can call them for spiritual aide. I've never heard of that before, and when you are visiting Mayo, that's a good thing to have. Also greatly appreciated an in-room fridge! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Location for being at Mayo Clinic"
It was an ideal location with direct access to Mayo Clinic through an underground tunnel so that you never had to go outside. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was very professional, and convenience to the Clinic was outstanding, The complimentary breakfast was very good and served in a very nice room. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Clinic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the location of the hotel is perfect. The room we got was not...Was it because we booked through Hotel.Com? It was a room with a foyer sort of entrance with a desk, and then opened into where the bed was. No easy chair or couch, as other rooms had. The amenities were minimal...just shampoo and soap, no lotion or anything else. The room was clean and […] utilitarian and not up to our expectations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location. Connected to 3 main Mayo bldgs"
Hotel staff was very helpful in assisting us with our requests. Night Supervisor went out of her way in helping my wife with everything we needed.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel over subway which connected to all the Mayo clinics. Great restaurants above ground, in the subway and anyway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"About the Kahler Inn"
The hotel itself was very nice and the location was great. However, we likely will not stay there again if we bring a car. The parking was terrible. We had to keep driving to find a parking spot waiting for someone to leave. If you are going to charge a guest that books online for parking, then there should be enough spaces.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
The rooms were clean and comfortable ,service great ! especially liked that they had a restraunt on premise . Also loved the location walking on street or through tunnel to mayo was so convient . Having a under ground garage was also a plus . Definitely would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good experience here."
Kind staff. Clean room. Pleased with the convenience to mayo clinic.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff was friendly during check in and that was it. Room was clean, comfortable bed. Parking was a PAIN! Very limited and tight quarters. Pool area was very unclean along with hallway areas thru the hotel. Breakfast was cold. Checked out early. Over all would not return. Was disappointed for what they charge as a nightly rate.Genuine Expedia guest review
