"EXCELLENT LOCATION for Gonda, Mayo, Hilton and"
My parents and I have stayed at multiple hotel locations in Rochester for their medical appointments and procedures. This hotel has by far provided the best location, amenities and service. The rooms are large and clean, with small refrigerator and coffee machine. The hallways are wide and bright. caribou coffee shop and a great restaurant inside that […] serves breakfast lunch and dinner with a really diverse menu selection. Friendly staff. Directly across from the Charlton building and caddy corner to Gonda mayo and hilton buildings. If a wheelchair is needed, you can take one from Mayo and keep it next to your room to use the next day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location for Mayo visit"
My adult son and I were in Rochester for a medical visit to Mayo Clinic. The location of the hotel was perfect, connecting us underground so we didn't have to go outside at all. The temperature was 10 degrees the week we were there. We especially enjoyed Crossings restaurant in the hotel. The food was wonderful and the staff made us feel like we were […] home. Carribou Coffee and Jimmy John's were just off the lobby. We would definitely stay there again if we ever need to visit Mayo. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Just a few minutes indoor walk from the Mayo. Clean, convenient. ..and the breakfast was above average. Will definitely book again when we are in town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient place to stay for a Mayo Clinic visit"
Anyone coming to the Mayo Clinic for appointments or treatment should consider the Kahler Inn and Suites. It is ideally located via the Subway system to the Mayo campus. The staff is overwhelmingly positive and upbeat which is very, very helpful when facing what could be life threatening news. The Crossings restaurant is good, the complimentary breakfast […] more than adequate. "Dispointing and dirty. Not worth the price."
Unfortunately the hotel said their confirmation was for a standard double, I paid for a suite. They did not have any suites available and they refused to refund me the difference. I probably would have written it off as it was a close drive to Mayo Clinic, my purpose of being there. However-the shower had a large crack in the ceiling, rust in bathroom, […] mold behind toilet and there were stains on the comforter and curtains. Breakfast was mediocre, the hot items were gone and not replenished in the 30 mins I was there. I had expected a get away for the price but I received a less than par room, very disappointing. "Clean hotel, but not very good service"
The room was clean and I loved having the Caribou Coffee shop connected to the lobby, but we asked for extra towels and an extra blanket and didn't get either. When we asked for the blanket they said we would have to come and get it or wait about 30 min. I said I would come and get it with no problem, but then they called back and said they could actually […] bring it up. Great! But, then no blanket. Also, the hotel did not have enough parking in their attached garage to accommodate us since we checked in a little later. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was quite enjoyable. We had super easy access to the facilities we needed to go to. The hotel was clean, our rooms were quite comfortable, and the staff was more than accommodating. We needed handicap equipment for our room and there was no problem at all getting it in a very timely manner. The recent renovation gave the hotel a much needed […] facelift...we thought it was beautiful! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Hotel Experience in this Century."
The room had a Queen size bed which left nearly no other space available. In other words, tiny room. The water temperature was tepid, towels minimal, no shampoo...even after asking the hotel staff for more towels...NADA. The only good thing to say is that it's located across the street from Mayo's Clinic. We stayed previously at the Kahler Grand Hotel […] which was very good, but this place is the pits. "Nice to stay here if going to the Clinic"
Very nice place to stay. Comfortable bed. Close to restaurants, coffee shop, right across the street from Methodist Hospital and the large Mayo buildings. Parking a a little problem, but we just had to park in a lot/garage a block away. We have stayed here before, and I am sure we will again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convient hotel to Mayo Clinic"
Easy access for check-in. No hassle parking. Clean room with all the required amenities. Professional staff and helpful. Good breakfast. However street noise does penetrate the hotel windows and airconditioner system.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to the Mayo Clinic"
Maid stole washing machine soap unopened from room as well as bottled water. Carpet was dirty. Corners to bathroom was black with dirt. Wake up calls were always ten minutes late. But it was cheap and close to the Mayo Clinic. Staff acted like they did not want to be there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Happy with beds and pillows."
The beds were comfortable and sweet smelling sheets. Very clean room and space to move around in room. It was extraly where we wanted rooms and appointments.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place for the Money"
We needed a place to stay near Mayo Clinic and this was closest to the buildling we were going to. We'd stayed five years ago at the Kahler Hotel, and it was fine, except that the room was extremely small--so it had a cramped feeling, and no real place to hang your clothes. This was much nicer for our purposes with two Queen beds and a separate bathroom […] and "clothes hanging" area. The room was clean and comfortable. this is not fancy-fancy, and yet very nice and very comfortable. I was amazed to learn that you can call them for spiritual aide. I've never heard of that before, and when you are visiting Mayo, that's a good thing to have. Also greatly appreciated an in-room fridge! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Location for being at Mayo Clinic"
It was an ideal location with direct access to Mayo Clinic through an underground tunnel so that you never had to go outside. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was very professional, and convenience to the Clinic was outstanding, The complimentary breakfast was very good and served in a very nice room. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Clinic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the location of the hotel is perfect. The room we got was not...Was it because we booked through Hotel.Com? It was a room with a foyer sort of entrance with a desk, and then opened into where the bed was. No easy chair or couch, as other rooms had. The amenities were minimal...just shampoo and soap, no lotion or anything else. The room was clean and […] utilitarian and not up to our expectations. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location. Connected to 3 main Mayo bldgs"
Hotel staff was very helpful in assisting us with our requests. Night Supervisor went out of her way in helping my wife with everything we needed.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel over subway which connected to all the Mayo clinics. Great restaurants above ground, in the subway and anyway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"About the Kahler Inn"
The hotel itself was very nice and the location was great. However, we likely will not stay there again if we bring a car. The parking was terrible. We had to keep driving to find a parking spot waiting for someone to leave. If you are going to charge a guest that books online for parking, then there should be enough spaces.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
The rooms were clean and comfortable ,service great ! especially liked that they had a restraunt on premise . Also loved the location walking on street or through tunnel to mayo was so convient . Having a under ground garage was also a plus . Definitely would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good experience here."
Kind staff. Clean room. Pleased with the convenience to mayo clinic.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff was friendly during check in and that was it. Room was clean, comfortable bed. Parking was a PAIN! Very limited and tight quarters. Pool area was very unclean along with hallway areas thru the hotel. Breakfast was cold. Checked out early. Over all would not return. Was disappointed for what they charge as a nightly rate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Motel fine, parking not so much!"
If you don't book directly with the hotel they charge $12 for parking. Their space is small so you have to go to the ramp a block away, which is not easy for those with walking problems! The rooms have new furnishings, but the bathrooms are old. It is very close to the Mayo.Genuine Expedia guest review
"what's going on?"
I have stayed at the Kahler many times in the past. Now, we are being charged for parking. What gives. It's like the airlines now charging us for water. The breakfast was adequate, not great. I've always wondered how you can serve biscuits and gravy next door to the Mayo Clinic. Everything else was fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed the non-chlorine pool. Staff were very friendly. I was disappointed that there would be a $12.00 fee per day for parking because we had went through Expedia. This caused a lot of extra driving back and forth to St. Mary's for us or else we would have had double parking rates, we parked at St Mary's but came back and forth three times per day. […] Had we paid yours and theirs it would have ran us close to $25.00 per day. Other than that we were satisfied. Thank you Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Stay for heart doctor check up"
Caribou coffee, and Jimmy Johns in the front of the hotel ether to ur left or right. Hotel employees were nice and polite. Free indoor parking under the hotel or across the street. Building seams old, but they have updated/renovated it. I reserved a king bed suite, ended up getting a queen double bed room. Don't know where the mess up was either at […] the hotel when checking into room or over online. All in all, I'd probably call the hotel next time for reservation. "Convenient...attachment to Mayo is a HIGH draw."
We've been to this hotel a few times now and each time asked for a handicapped room. My mother is in a wheelchair and can not walk on her own. We have never received a handicapped room. In order for her to go to the bathroom, I have to pull the chair in the door way as far as it will go, stand her up, and carry her to the toilet. This in turns hurts […] my back and is a potential safety hazard due to lifting her. Even if she is only 98 lbs. Honestly I feel this hotel should have an abundance of handicapped rooms, it is attached to the best medical clinic in the world. Many people that come to this hotel are handicapped no one comes to vacation here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Rooms are clean, and I guess ok for price point. The AC did not work right, and it was not fixed in spite of being informed about the problem.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Hotel, Close to Mayo Clinic & Hospital"
Was at the clinic and hospital for Dr. Visit. Located right accross the street. Since I have difficulty walking it made the visit much easier to just walk accross the street.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Most convenient to Mayo Clinic"
This was our second stay. Based on that, there seems to be some variations in the rooms, even though the prices we paid both times were identical. We were more satisfied with our room this time, mainly due to size or spaciousness of the bedroom and the bath area. Both times rooms had two queen beds plus small refrigerator, but previous room was cramped […] for the two of us. Other than that nice, though, a small microwave would be nice. Also, both times were very quiet stays, very important to both of us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to Mayo but wouldn't go there again"
Building is old, dirty area around the pool. Pool area was very small, no towels at the end of the day. Staff was fine. Stairwells were down right scary. Overall cleanliness of the place was fair at best.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the Mayo"
We came because we had to, for the appointments for my husband. We parked in the Damian parking garage because the appt said to park there. When we had time to check in between appointments, we did. This is our first time at the clinic and never stayed in Rochester. The first thing the lady said to me was "you will have to pay 12.00 parking fee because […] you didn't book with us." Okay. No smile, nothing that would indicate that she wanted us to be there. I work with the elderly and I know how to treat even difficult people. "Kahler dislikes Expedia"
This hotel seems to resent bookings made through Expedia judging by their comments at check-in. Desk clerk unfriendly and negative. Hotel worn and tired. I sense no respect or concern for customer but the location is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"At the Mayo clinic"
I stayed for 6 nights and changed rooms to a suite with a microwave. I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of room 327- the carpeting needed shampooed and smelled dirty. When I upgraded to 844 I was pleasantly surprised with the room change - clean and much bigger. Some of the staff was much more friendly n helpful then others.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very close to Mayo. No major complaints."
Very close to the Mayo clinic. Had underground tunnels for quick access to the clinics multiple buildings. Room was clean and decent size for a non-suite. Nothing spectacular but it did have a mini-fridge for snacks. Complimentary breakfast with reasonable hours. Jimmy John's adjacent to lobby for quick food as well as smoothie shop and coffee shop. […] Never had a problem finding a parking space in the two garages. They charge for parking but it wasn't too expensive considering everywhere there charges for parking. Only complaint was they don't answer the front desk phone when called from room apparently. Forgot a question when talking to staff in lobby, called from room right when I got upstairs. No answer. This happened on more than one occasion. Other than that, it served the purpose it was for. Pillows were a little too fluffy and lumpy and there was a thin blanket vs a comforter, these are minor complaints though. I was there for a week for a consult and subsequent testing at the Mayo clinic and had no real problems with this hotel. Would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Easy to find. Good & quiet AC. Having a pool was great even though I was too tired to use it. Staff people were very polite & helpful. I especially liked the "Crossings" restaurant downstairs.
