Hitel was a great place to stay to go to Mayo ClinicGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient hotel in downtown Rochester"
A pleasant hotel that is well maintained with great amenities that are convenient. The restaurant has a newly added restaurant and bar as well as a Caribou Coffee and a Jimmy Johns that are accessable from the Hotel Lobby. Plus the Mayo Clinic and the rest of dowtown Rochester are within walking distance. The rooms are fine but the bathrooms and toilets […] are small. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect place for Mayo patients to stay!"
Right across the street from the EIsenberg,Gonda, and Mayo buildings! Nice and close. :-) very friendly staff. Room was very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very happy with our stay except: Bathroom too small, no grab bars in bathroom, the "easy chair" was not comfortable. The overall service was outstanding.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Staff are a dissapointment. Room smelled."
Convenience to Mayo Clinic at a cost! This place is just a mess.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location for Mayo Clinic patients. They were working on the restaurant during our stay and loud construction noises began before 8am and woke our children. Location is the sole reason for our stay. Can find much nicer, newer hotels for less money outside of clinic area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Our stay was comfortable and location convenient"
Room was clean, staff was friendly or professional- sometimes even both. Couldn't be any more convenient for Mayo patients. Big Mike touted the prime rib and Crossings (hotel restaurant). We waited 4 nights to get the prime rib, as it was sold out for the first 3. (it was ok- I've had more flavorful and more tender- but it was ok.) One gripe was the […] online menu for Crossings claiming to have Gluten free Chicken consomme- it didn't, and furthermore- it could've caused a celiac great pain and sickness if they believed the online menu without asking first for some reason. The hotel restaurant needs to update the online menu and even the in-house menu. While restaurant issues might be considered separate from the hotel- having something gluten free on the menu that is a non-solid was one of the reasons this hotel was selected. I'll toss out a + for guest laundry (2 washing machines and dryers for normal rate) being available. +Decent rates overall, considering proximity to Mayo. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice kitchenette and clean overall"
Mostly liked the proximity to Mayo and the cleanliness of the room. There is a Caribou Coffee and a restaurant / bar in the lobby. Also the subway level connects directly to the Mayo Clinic.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Overall everything was great for the price."
Everything was as expected and the convienence of being so close to the clinic was great. Having a coffee shop, restaurant, deli, and covered parking adjacent was wonderful. The continental breakfast was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pathetic Front Desk customer service"
Terrible service at check in. Hotel is dated and the rooms are very small. Fitness room is dated and small as well. Location is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were told we didn't have to pay to park in the parking ramp and ended up getting charged. Very disappointing!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very tight parking lot!"
Pool needs revamp, much less chlorine, and breakfast was "sub par". Nice staff!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Mayo Clinic Patients"
Comfortable, convenient, relatively affordable option for Mayo Clinic patients. Very clean, with friendly housekeeping staff. Not my first choice, but perfectly acceptable.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Clean, convenient and pleasant staff"
Quiet rooms, clean and convenient to Mayo facilities with shuttle access. Staff was friendly, nice to have a restaurant with bar and sandwich shop and Starbucks all in one location.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very convenient to Mayo Clinic"
Easy to find and park, although you are charged daily for parking. The hotel and rooms are very clean and well maintained. The suite we had was really an elongated room with sitting area, small table, microwave, mini fridge and dishes, silverware and glasses/cups - no real separation of sleeping and living area. I am an early riser; my husband is not, […] so I was hoping for a door or separation of area to minimize the chance of waking him. The restaurant has very good food and wonderful wait staff, although you have to wait for the kitchen to produce the order. I thought it was a bit expensive but perhaps the easy access to Mayo Clinic is worth the extra to some. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to mayo clinis"
Stayed two weeks ago, then again this past week for medical services. Best convenience was the proximity of the hotel and the use of a hot tub. Even though the hot tub was quite tiny, I was able to use that as well as the pool the first stay, that really helped with my pain and discomfort. This past week I was quite disappointed that the pool/hot tub […] was closed for a couple of days, then the hot tub was finally open our last night stay. Had I known this I would not have selected this hotel the second time as I felt the use of this hot tub really helped decrease the pain I was having. Wish I would have been informed the pool and hot tub were not in working order prior to checking in. Staff was vary helpful and apologetic , unfortunately that didn't change the situation nor were rates of the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
bathroom was extremely small but didn't append much time there so not an issue. Anyone going to Mayo for a week of testing should stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We liked our stay but something in the room made my allergies come out big time. What type of pillows do you use.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I like this hotel. It was inexpensive, clean, close to the Mayo Clinic, very nice staff. Needs a to updated.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best for convenience"
The hotel is a quiet, relaxing place to stay. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room on this trip was comfortable and clean. The wall heater was quiet and more than adequate. The maintenance staff is A+. I believe the room is overpriced but is still worth the extra cost because of convenience. If the weather was warmer and our appointments […] at the Clinic allowed, we would probably stay a little further away to save money. The breakfast is very good, but most days my husband was fasting & wasn't able to enjoy it anyway. The coffee shop is great & the hours are perfect for hotel guests. We took advantage of the shuttle bus during our stay. The schedule(s) is a bit confusing however. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Our hotel of choice for Methodist Hospital/Mayo"
We had a suite with kitchenette -microwave, fridge, small sink, coffee maker, and small table. Dishes and utensils are in the cupboards. Sofa area was comfortable for reading and watching t.v. Bathroom was very clean but small. We had two queen beds that were in very good condition and each bed had about 4 pillows. Breakfast was the only flaw- it seemed […] to be of lower quality than a Hampton Inn type place but overall we didn't mind because the hotel was such a good price on the underground walkway. "Great location but terrible in parking spaces"
Disappointed about the parking, two blocks away in a parkade. Otherwise it was a great experience with clean rooms, comfortable beds, and quiet hallways.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Winter stay in MN"
I was billed more than I was told when I booked. The housekeeping service was very poor, some days they did not take dirty towels and some days they failed to make the bed. I had booked for two nights, but since the weather here was a blizzard and no travel advised, I ended up staying four nights. I had to beg to get a small credit on the price of the […] room but it was not near what had been quoted to me. I also got a small credit for housekeeping failures. I left my room around 6:30a.m. And returned around 8:00p.m. Each day as my husband was in the hospital across the street. I would have changed hotels but because of the weather I think most all local hotels were full. I was very disappointed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient Mayo Clinic"
I always stay at Kahler Inn and Suites when visiting the Mayo Clinic. The location is extremely convenient to all Mayo facilities, Methodist Hospital and other necessary amenities. The rooms are clean and very adequate for a medical center stay.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Adequate hotel conveniently located"
The hotel location is great. The upkeep and cleanliness did not meet my expectations. In the two years since I last stayed in this hotel, it has gone down hill.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient to Mayo Clinic"
Check-in and check-out was easy. Appreciated the on-site technician "Mike" who was available and helped us resolve issues on our last two visits at Kahler - almost makes us feel like family. He's a keeper! Our mattresses were excellent, comparing to other rooms at similar hotels in Rochester.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient to Mayo clinic"
We loved that we could take the subway anywhere. We even went to dinner via the subway.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location and access to Mayo Clinic."
The only negative was booking thru Expedia rather than Kahler Inn itself, cost me 12 bucks to park. If I had booked thru Kahler itself, it would have been free. Bummer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Request not honored"
Since I was having foot surgery, I requested a handicap accessible room that would allow a wheelchair to enter, especially for the bathroom. I was told when I got there that they did not have a room available. I would have gone to a different hotel if I was not confirmed for this room! I was told that I should have gone directly through their website […] to get the room I needed. The first room they gave me, the door was too narrow to allow wheelchair access as well as no possibility of entering the bathroom. The second room was a King Size bed (I had requested two queen-size beds) with a larger opening for a wheelchair and a roll-in shower, but no grab bars. I was also charged for parking, which would have been free had I gone directly through their website. Not a happy camper! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrible Blankets and Breakfast"
Basic room at the Kahler Inn & Suites cost me just under $150 for the night including tax. The blankets on the beds were distressingly bad. A terrible artificial blanket was rapped in two sheets instead of providing a comforter in a duvet cover. Which is what it looks like in the pictures. The breakfast was terrible. It consisted of bad pastry, banana […] and terrible coffee. Thank goodness Starbucks was close. The only reason they can get away with this kind of terrible service for this price is because they are extremely close to Mayo Clinic. I would not stay there again! "Close to the Mayo Clinic"
If you're looking for a functional room with no frills and a low price, this hotel is for you. The advantage of the Kahler Inn and Suites is that it is connected to the underground subway (actually walkway) system that makes it east to travel to the Mayo Clinic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kahler Inn & Suites. We had one of the double queen suites and gave us plenty of room. It was very clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly and it was convenient to Mayo's by underground walking tunnel. Continental breakfast was sufficient and clean. Our only complaint was that the scald valves on the showers were […] set too low. We like to take very hot showers and they were lukewarm. The bistro attached to the hotel had excellent food too. Try the Rueben sandwich and truffle fries! We will definitely stay at Kahler Inn whenever we visit Mayo's in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for the price"
Staying here was okay. The location is perfect. My mom was at Methodist hospital and we didn't have to go outside at all because the hotel is connected to mayo. Parking was free and a ramp so that was a positive as well. There is continental breakfast and a pool table for the kids as the days get long... My only complaint was cleanliness, dusty room […] and the floor felt crusty. Also had leftovers in the fridge from previous guests. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and was clean, that's really all you need at mayo. The front desk wouldn't work with us on cancellation though when my mom was discharged early, that was disappointing considering I'm sure it happens all the time at mayo. I would stay here again but make sure my reservations are cancellable way beforehand! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location for access to Mayo Clinic"
Overall stay is OK. The only major complaint is the breakfast needs more variety and better quality. The staff and cleaners were very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Overall Experience..."
Kahler Inn and Suites was a good place to stay. The beds were comfortable, room was updated, and was always very clean. Bathrooms are small, but the rest of the room is fine. When we arrived it was the "cleaning" time in the hotel and I watched a lady cleaning a room. Very, very thorough. They seem to have high standards, probably to keep out things […] like bedbugs. We did a detailed inspection of our room and found nothing wrong. (we have a clean freak in the family...) We had the mini suite which is in between a regular room and the full size kitchenette. If you are going to be there a bit and want to cook, advise the $10 additional for full size fridge and stove. Nice size room that let me work on business while my child slept. Good restaurant, great food but a little pricey for my tightwad taste. So handy we ate there anyway. Very flexible kitchen staff. Will alter or custom make anything. Great bar staff. Some good happy hour specials. Connected to the subway to Mayo, shopping etc, which in January is a true blessing. We walked miles each day while it was 0 degrees outside. My only real gripe was the breakfast. My child is gluten and dairy free. She had peanut butter cups and apples from the breakfast. I am trying to be low carb. There is nothing there but cereal, pastries, bread, etc. There was hot food 3 days of the 5 we were there but it was either waffles or biscuits and gravy. Thursday and Friday there was nothing hot. "Wonderful people at a disappointing hotel!"
I wish I could write a better review because absolutely all the people we dealt with there were exceptional, but, there were so many things wrong, none of which they would have been able to do anything about. Such as, the light for the bathroom sink being so bright that it ricocheted out of that room and into the bedroom. Such as, the only light for […] the room where the tub and toilet are located also had a fan on it that would wake the dead, Such as, all the bed pillows were unmanageably weird in shape and content. That's one of the reasons that I always bring my own! Such as, when you turn the TV on, it starts out very loud and you have to turn it down ASAP or you can hear it in the next room. We could hear our neighbors every time. Such as, there are no comfortable chairs in the room. Such as, I could hear all the street noise outside our room because there is a gap under the heating and A/C unit under the window, that let's in whatever is out there. Noise and cold air being two things. I guess that's enough for now but you get my drift. So sorry to all the employees. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
