"Great location for the price"
This is not a 5 star hotel. But it is in a 5 star location. Walk to most Portland attractions. Room was clean & comfortable. Owners were nice, friendly, and helpful with information about their town. Easy access to freeways & roadways. Great stay for the price!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great no frills hotel, convenient & reasonable"
No frills but everything you would need for a couple of nights. Very reasonable price, parking, WiFi included and coffee and a muffin for a quick getaway in the morning. Very convenient to everything in Portland, including the transit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap, but old"
The rooms are very old and used. Nothing was really broken but very oldGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't judge book by cover"
When we first arrived we were a bit disappointed from the outside as it looked a bit plain. Inside the room it was very clean and smelt lovely. It was quite spacious and the bus and streetcar stopped outside. It was also just across the bridge from the Amtrak station and across the road from the rose quarter stadium.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Econolodge offers a convenient, clean and inexpensive accommodation close to downtown. Not appropriate for luxury lovers but ideal if you don't care about amenities and spend most time outside.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok, but Hungry."
We approached the hotel from the south and saw a deserted lot and a dirty exterior wall. The signage was small. It had us worried that it was a dive. Around the corner it looked fine. Very dated but reasonably comfortable. Not a place you would head for in the evening to relax, just sleep. We found the beds comfortable and there was some exterior traffic […] noise. There was a promise of a continental breakfast but that was going to happen in the lobby at 7:00 a.m. The lobby was a room about eight fet be eight feet. We left a little after 7 each morning and nothing materialized. That factored into added cost for us as we had to eat out each morning. Not expecting that. No extras, just a basic "hit the hay hotel". Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cheap lodging in a not-too-lively neighbourhood"
I was late to book my hotel for a conference in Portland, and chose to stay at this place because of its low price and proximity to public transportation as reasonable downtown accommodation options had sold out. I was satisfied with my choice, but I believe the place might be a better fit for someone getting around by car. During my stay, I really […] appreciated the excellently friendly and helpful staff, and the fact that quick breakfast snacks to-go were provided for free in the tiny lobby in the mornings. The room I stayed in was well kept and not too small. The free WiFi Internet in the room worked great, though certain ports were blocked (meaning no remote file system access through AFS for me). Rose Garden TC, a major public transportation hub, is five minutes' walk away, or you can park your car at the hotel. Downsides include that my room lacked a hair dryer, and the eerily deserted surroundings of the hotel. (It is located next to the Rose Garden stadium, so there's nobody around except through traffic when there are no stadium events.) Light sleepers might be affected by the traffic noise from the major road outside the hotel, but I had no problem with it.
"not bad.. reasonable price."
not bad.. but i think a bedcover is not clean.. It smelt damp. Also, they didn't have a hairdryer. And the heater is very noisy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Trivsamt, rent och med bra läge nära downtown. Kollektivtrafik precis utanför dörren. Sämsta var "frukosten" - några märkliga plastförpackade kakor och väldigt äckligt kaffe. I övrigt väldigt prisvärt!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sijainti hyvä mutta hotelli on aika vanha"
Ihan jees, ottaen huomioon hintatason.

This place has not changed since last here. Great fast check in, Very large and well appointed room. The Price is right. Have not changed my mind on this place. Can recommend this place for an overnight stay.

We were on a follow-our-nose road trip from Berkeley to Seattle and did not have hotel reservations made ahead. The downtown Portland hotels were either sold out or very expensive. At first, we feared what we had gotten into with the Econo Lodge. However, the room was not shabby. It was clean. All of the fixtures were in good working order. The neighborhood turned out to be quiet and safe. The "continental breakfast" was quite spare but better than nothing. For our purposes of just driving through, the Econo Lodge proved a great place to spend a night.
"Great location, decent rooms, good price"

Look, it's an Econolodge! The rooms were spacious, the bathroom and shower decent size. The king bed was comfortable along with the pillows. The hotel is a bit dated but it's clean with your expected amenities. The carpet in our room definitely is aged but the room was without any offending odors. The plus for this hotel is it's location and price. You are in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Keep in mind you are on the edge of what starts "downtown" so for the price, excellent location. The lady at the front desk is phenomenal! She is great to ask questions and get recommendations. She was super helpful throughout our stay. I felt safe around the immediate area. The continental breakfast is bare bones, coffee, bread, juice and muffins. I'd stay here again if in town.
"Affordable room within driving/walking distance to great restaurants"

Pretty much what we expected for the price. Room was fairly clean and big enough for two people. There was definitely a strong and distinct cumin/curry smell in the room that we couldn't seem to shake. But that might have been from another room below us cooking dinner or eating Indian food.

Nice room - better than I expected because of the run-down exterior - and it was clean, quiet, and well-supplied. My only complaint is that the TV reception was poor (picture not clear), even though it was from the satellite. The location is a bit inconvenient unless you're going to the Convention Center.

Attended a conference in Portland last week and wanted a hotel near the convention center, with breakfast, that fit my budget. I wasn't expecting luxury for my 4 nights at the Econo Lodge, but good grief. The lobby is large enough for one person and their luggage. The "breakfast" is set up in a corner of the lobby--pot of coffee, jug of orange juice and your choice of a frosted packaged pastry or . . . a frosted packaged pastry. No variation, food to be eaten in your room. One coffee pod in your room per day. My roommate and I repeatedly had our keys re-keyed as they did not operate the door when we came home, with never an apology. The proprietor refused to allow my roommate to check out early (since she had a 6am flight the next day) and pay her part of the bill. Since the reservation was made with my credit card, that was all he would accept for payment. On the plus side, the room was clean and the streetcar (only stops every half hour) picks up directly across the street. Wish I had a better report for $110 a night.

We had stopped at this motel due to horrible weather conditions and we could no longer drive in the snow. When we arrived, the receptionist provided horrible service. We entered the room and the heater did not work and the bed was very hard, which left us tossing and turning the entire night. Their continental breakfast consisted of orange juice and a couple of stale danishes. Would not recommend this place at all!

It isn't called econo for nothing. Having said that, I don't consider $90.00 exactly cheap. You wouldn't want to spend too much time in the room. The carpet doesn't just need cleaning, It needs to be replaced. I don't know where the "convention centre" part of it comes in because judging from the size of the parking lot it would have to be an awfully small convention. The free breakfast in the morning reinforces the saying "ya gets what ya pays for.
"Great place for the price."

Bit of noise from the road but very peaceful. Mysterious spot on floor near bathroom but other than that was a great place to stay for one night. They upgraded our room for free since the door to the one we booked wouldn't open. Very friendly staff.
"Perfect for one night for a blazers game"
12/12/13 TeriS372 Veneta, Oregon, United States
Very close to Moda Center.Perfect for a game. The room was clean, fine. An economy hotel, but it was a good value for the price. No complaints! Our room faced the road so a bit of road noise but we were tired after the game and it didnt bother us much. Danish and coffee in the morning/ TV had lots of channels. heater was very very warm.
