The hotel was very clean and recently renovated. The continental breakfast was quite expansive and lasted until 10 am. The hotel shuttle to the airport is very timely and quite convenient. No complaints at all!

Friendly, helpful staff. Otherwise unremarkable. The room was clean and comfortable, but I was placed near the rear exit on the ground floor, which seemed to be the chosen location for more than one loud and dramatic scene during the course of the night. the room was a little small for a family of five. my teen son had to sleep on the floor. i am surprised that hotels.com would put me in this room knowing that there were five of us. no pull out bed for him, he had to sleep on floor. the staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the lady taking care of the morning breakfast. we will stay here again […] if we are only 4 traveling. thank you again for the stay. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a complex with about 3 others so a shuttle picks you up from the airport and drops you off at one of the 3-4 in the same location. Check in was great and the breakfast was quite extensive. The hotel is very close to Midway but you will need the shuttle. You can catch the Orange line from the airport into Chicago, its about a 20-30 minute ride to downtown. The service was fine - excellent shuttle service to and from airport, but the hotel's "new look" doesn't fix its age and style. Very convenient to airport, but there are 3 other hotels within a block to choose from that are newer and nicer. The breakfast buffet was that rubbery frozen omelette and canned gravy sauce over biscuits - not worth it.

The hotel was clean, room was clean, staff were nice. However, the air conditioning in the room was horrible. Had it on the coldest, strongest setting all night and it was mediocre at best. Still couldn't sleep with covers because it was too hot. The area neighborhood wasn't the best but I've seen much worse. All in all, I would stay there again.

My stay at the Hampton Inn was nice. I was always greeted whenever I walked into the lobby area, which was very inviting given that they had a nice fireplace. The room was nice and comfortable. The cleaning staff do need to pay better attention to cleaning under the armoir because I saw an M&M and a nice bit of sut under there and that was from the […] front view of the armoir. The staff was wonderful and always checked with guests off and on to ensure comfort. The hotel is definitely clean and very well maintained. The rooms are good for a couple but may be a little small for a family. No complaints. Got the money's worth.

The hotel staff was very nice but there was not much to do around the area. I wish I would've known earlier that the hotel shuttle takes guests to the airport/train station and the train goes to downtown frequently. Overall, it was a nice stay.

This hotel is great. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Even though they're going through renovations until Jan 2013, they kept the noise to a minimum and it didn't trouble me at all. It is near the airport, though, so bring your earplugs if airplane noise bothers you. Their shuttle to/from Midway airport runs continuously, so you don't have to […] call for a pickup. The morning breakfast is free and very good - eggs, sausage, potatoes, along with hot and cold cereal, waffles, French toast, pastries, muffins, bagels, fruit, etc. The Wi-Fi is free and works well. They have smoking rooms! Big plus for smokers who have been abandoned by other chains. Not a great neighborhood surrounding, but lots of restaurants close by. Every time a room on Hotels.com does not accommodate 5 people, the website won't allow me to book it. We either select a different hotel, get a suite, or get 2 rooms. This hotel somehow allowed us to book the room for 2 adults, 3 children, but when we arrived, there was no place for the 5th person to sleep. My 13 year old slept on the floor. We asked […] about it and basically were told they couldn't do anything. They have no roll-away beds on property. It was very late in the evening when we arrived, and we had to catch a 4:40 AM shuttle to the airport, so it was too late for us to switch hotels that night. Hotels.com gave us a $75 credit on our account - much appreciated - but I would like to see this Hampton Inn-Midway airport be advertised truthfully as being able to accommodate for the number of people stated for a room when reserving it. If you are visiting the University of Chicago this is a good option vs. downtown. 20-25 minutes from campus, restaurants nearby, easy in and out, no downtown traffic. Hotel was excellent, as Hampton's usually are.

A late night check in and a very early shuttle to Midway. Eay to get to after a night downtown. Glad that some bananas and apples were available even though breakfast wouldn't "start" until an hour later. Nice folks.

Great hotel, close to airport, friendly staff. The surrounding area was a bit sketchy, but improved right near the hotel and felt safe. The shuttle runs 24 hrs. a day, which is awesome. We were, however, awakened during the night with a strong, foul odor of sewage. Hapened three times durning the night. Wonder if something was going on.

The room was very comfortable and offered a good size work area without making the room feel cramped. The friendliest, most accommodating staff we have ever experienced. Made for a great, cheaper option to staying in the city. The shuttle made the "L" trip to the city about 45 minutes.
