This hotel is very nice, with a great location and very helpful and friendly staff. The concierge was very good. We were within walking distance to everything...the Rocks, the ferries, the Opera House, the train, shopping, dining, everything. I like to stay at smaller local hotels and this was very nice. It had large rooms and beautiful bathrooms. The pool was small as was the exercise room, but we didn't have much time to use either. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was great. It was only a few blocks away from Circular Quay and the train station, bus stops, and the Opera House itself. It was easy to get anywhere from there. The room itself was very spacious, and had everything we needed. I especially loved the large bathroom with two sinks and large tub! It was an older hotel, and had that charm. The staff was great, always someone at the counter willing to answer our questions. They also were very accommodating when we arrived early in the morning, and let us keep our luggage there, even though our room wasn't ready yet. They again let us store our luggage for a few hours after we checked out, which was great since our flight wasn't leaving for about 5 hours. The only complaint I have is that even though the room was internet ready, it cost about $12 per hour. That's twice as much as any internet kiosk you could find around the city. It would have been nice to use the computer in the room, but this was just too expensive for me.

My husband especially loved this elegant old-school hotel (my daughter and I, whose tastes run more towards the modern, appreciated its spaciousness, cleanliness, excellent service). Like other reviewers, we wished the breakfast had been cheaper (we ate at other places). We tried the afternoon tea and enjoyed it.

Very polite, professional staff. Arriving at 7am from the airport, there was no room available straight away (fair enough, I had not paid for an early check-in after all) but I was offered use of the facilities in the gym (shower etc) to freshen up which was all I actually needed before setting off for a day's sightseeing. My room was the biggest I have had in any hotel, clean and very well-equipped (including the essential safe, tea and coffee making tray and ironing board!). This was the cheapest "City View" room. (Incidentally, despite the "Lowest Price Guarantee" on the hotel's own website, there was no mention there of the 3 nights for the price of 2 deal I got from hotels.com.) I could see much of the Bridge, a shell or two of the Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art out the window (no balcony) beyond less distinguished buildings - not altogether a picturesque view but I would not have paid extra for one. The location is excellent: a very few minutes walk from the Circular Quay train, bus and (wonderful) ferry hub, the Opera House and (wonderful again) Royal Botanic Gardens. Easy walking distance to the Rocks, Harbour Bridge and even the City Centre along Macquarie Street. I did not eat in the hotel (seldom do in any hotel unless breakfast is included in the price). A very good hotel before taking price into account. For what I paid (and being used to UK hotel prices) it was an outstanding bargain.

Beautiful hotel, walking distance to circular quay and opera house. Woke up with cuckadoos outside on our balcony. We had a wonderful stay. Just don't be disappointed because the hotel's harbor view room does not face the Opera House nor Harbor Bridge.

This hotel provides an excellent base for anyone planning a trip to Sydney. It may not be the tallest hotel around, lacking spectacular views offered by others close by, by the view is best enjoyed from outside. It is in very close proximity to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.

We loved staying here...it is within walking distance of everything around the Circular Quay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One thing to note is that they will offer to bring you up to the fitness center to change and freshen up if you arrive before check in. The only negative is that they charge a very high rate for internet access...AU$25/day! Otherwise, we found everything about this hotel delightful.
