Waldorf Madeleine Hotel - Paris

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was well maintained and clean. Perfect for the 2 of us. Not huge but we didn't plan to spend a lot of time indoors. The shower was lovely and each day was spruced up with new amenities. The hotel was in walking distance to the Louvre and the Gardens. You should really take advantage of walking around […] the city ,you can find you'll miss things if you don't. There is a Starbucks, actually 2, just up the street. The area restaurants are excellent. The subway is a short walk and very easy to navigate. The Waldorf Madeleine is a wonderful hotel. I would highly recommend you stay at the Waldorf Madeleine! I just spent a week in Paris for the first time. It was a very last minute trip and I didn't have much time to prepare. However, I must say that I lucked out with this hotel. It was in a GREAT location- safe, vibrant, close to many sites and certainly walkable (Metro was also a 3 min walk away). The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful with questions, […] directions booking tours and airport pickup. The room was pleasant. Yes it was small, but so are all the hotels in Paris. There was a mini fridge too. I can't comment on the food because I didn't buy the breakfast included, however there were so many restaurants and cafes just within a few block radius. I became brave and started taking the Metro to different places. And even if I came back alone at night (I'm a single female in 30's) I always felt safe in that area. Great Location! Tons of restaurants and delis around the block. Walking distance to Champs Elysees, Opera District and Louvre. Stunning view of the Eiffel Tower from the room. Eiffel is a 8 Euro taxi ride. The person covering the reception desk at nights was pretty good. Rooms are small, but this is Paris.

Hotel Madeleine was a great spot for us - within a few blocks of the Concorde, and also close to the less touristy areas. Block & a half to the RER / Metro. The hotel staff was professional and courteous; Southern Hospitality should only be expected in the Southern US... The room was small, but what room in Europe isn't? Fresh carpet, nice drapes, […] comfortable bed. Bathroom was well-put together, and kept clean. Housekeeping stayed on top of the job, and out of the way when we hung the Do Not Disturb tag. Couldn't ask for more there. Don't do the breakfast in any hotel - not worth the cost. Just go shopping for your cafe and croissant on the street! The location is really good. walking distance to the places you want to see. You can take the rossy shuttle from the airport for 10 less than Euros if you don't want to pay 50 for the cab. But remember the start rating of the hotels in Paris is different from everywhere else. The room is really tiny and old.

There is free wireless internet in the rooms as well as two computers in the lobby for checking email and getting directions. The hotel staff were always polite and spoke to us. The room was tight but had everything we would want. The only issue (and it was minor) was that if we were trying to use the only elevator (and very small at that) in the middle of the morning, the housekeeping staff monopolized it so we needed to use the stairs. One final great feature that you will not notice until dark (if you are fortunate to be on the top floor) is the Eifel tower peeking over the roof of the building on the other side of the street. I loved this hotel! It is a few blocks away from the Louvre, Concord Plaza, and great shopping. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with my many questions about navigating the Metro. Breakfast was not included in my room price, but it was delicious. Breakfast room is quite small though and there was usually a wait for a table.

He was somewhat abrasive when asked a question about the computer not working. He was not busy and had been just sitting at the desk not working on anything in particular. Our rooms were ready early which was a great help. One of them had to be changed because of a terrible sewer odor. The replacement room was mostly better but since it had a great view of the Eifel tour I kept it. We never tried the breakfast since it was way overpriced and unfortunatly there were no coffee or snack options there. The staff was usually […] helpful and most spoke English well. The reception area was an bit smaller than I would have expected and the 'Business center' was just 2 slow computers with French keyboards. While not that far from the metro there were not many food options close by. I was traveling with a group so walkin alone was not a problem but I would have like to be in a more robust area.
