Location. The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel is located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, one-half mile from the Brewery District, German Village and the Columbus Museum of Art. The museum opened in 1931 and its permanent collection includes works by Picasso, Edward Hopper and Norman Rockwell. COSI Museum is one mile away. Ohio State University is three miles from the hotel. The Arena District and the State Capitol are two blocks away. This Columbus hotel is in the business district at Capitol Square.
Hotel Features. The Columbus, A Renaissance Hotel includes two on-site dining options - the Captiol City Grill and Player's Sports Bar The hotel offers 22,500 square feet of event space in 16 meeting rooms. The largest room accommodates up to 1,400 people. High-speed Internet access is available. Complimentary newspapers are provided in the lobby. This Columbus hotel's fitness center includes free weights and cardiovascular equipment. The hotel includes a heated outdoor pool on the roof. The moment I arrived at the hotel I knew that it would be a pleasant stay. Their valet service first welcomes you, and takes good care to get you inside, and ready to check-in. When I got to my room it was immaculate. Very clean and cozy. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the $13/daily internet fee. The bed was amazingly comfortable. I usually have trouble sleeping on a bed that I am not familiar with, but this bed felt like I was sleeping on a cloud, very soft and comfortable. The sheets were very soft too. Room service staff was great. Very pleasant when you called, and the food was great(which also says the restaurant food was good). The television got pretty much all the channels you would need. The a/c unit, which was central a/c was great. Water pressure in the shower was phenomenal. all in all, great hotel. Worth every penny.

I enjoyed relaxing and reading in my room after our night out. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room and hotel were very clean. The staff was courteous and well informed about local attractions. The buffet breakfast on Sunday (very reasonable for 15.00 per person) included a spectacular omelet, terrific coffee and delicious rolls as well as fruit etc. I know that this is the best hotel in downtown Columbus. It was very close to the Ohio Theater.

The weekend I stayed not only was a very drunk wedding party attending but some middle school class trip. The kids were running, yelling down the hallways. They were riding up and down the elevators and then attempting to cram as many on the elevator when trying to go down. Between the drunk guests in the elevator with the school trip this experience was awful.

This was a very updated, modern hotel with quality furnishings and bedding. The pool and surrounding terrace area were great and hard to find in a downtown hotel. The walk to the arena district and short north area wasn't as bad as I expected, but there were also a few restaurants/bars very close to the hotel if you didn't want to make the trek. Service was good, but at the front desk and in the hotel restaurant for breakfast.

The Hotel itself was ok, the bathroom was oddly placed in a corner but clean. Main problem I had was that we kept having to call the front desk for a party in the room next to ours that lasted until about 5:30 AM and they couldn't seem to control it.

Our king room was pretty crowded because of the strange placement of the bed, desk and large chair and ottoman. But otherwise, our stay was great. The hotel has been recently remodeled and was quite comfortable. The desk and valet staff were courteous and knowledgeable about the area, restaurants and attractions, including concise directions. We had a fine Italian meal at Due Amici around the corner and the brewery district and German Village are great.

The parking situation is what turns me off from this hotel. I think it is only professional that the hotel inform you of the $25 parking charge ahead of time, not when you pull into the parking garage. When the website says there is parking, it needs to inform customers that it is a steep charge even though you are already a paying guest.

The only problem we had was when we booked our room, the room came with the breakfast. They tried to charge us for a full Breaskfast for two. It was a little much trying to get this figured out when it states room comes with full breakfast. After 10 min on the phone they got it figured out and the stay was perfect. Nice, clean and comfortable.

The hotel is located just a little further away rom the Arena district, but otherwise it was well worth the money. Parking is pricey actually cost more to park here than it cost to park in LA.

The management and staff were very friendly and accomodating. We forgot a few items and they had everything we needed. The hotel staff gave good information about the surrounding restaurants and night life. Everyone was very willing to help and meet our needs.

This is a very nice hotel and the staff was excellent. Heather gets ***** (5 stars)!! Our morning experience was not so great. The shower was broken and it was very difficult to shower. It is too bad I did not know this before I got in. We made reservations for three in each room and they only had two towels in each room. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Housekeeping did not do a great job, they did not remove or replace dirty and used glasses or take out the trash for the three days we stayed there. The staff was very courteous and helpful, but the lack of housekeeping made our stay less convenient than I would have hoped for the price.

It was a little pricey - but it was our anniversary I didn't mind paying a little extra for a great hotel. Our room was great - the staff were friendly and helpful. Then only downfall was the parking - if I'm paying for a room I feel I shouldn't have to pay for parking as well.

I was told parking was valet only. The valet left and returned with a ticket. He asked me to leave my keys in the car and walked away. There was no one to help me with my bags. When the car was returned to me the next day my glove box, center console and trunk had been rummaged through and my radar detector was missing.

Stay overall was enjoyable. Comfortable room, good service, but they need to do something with the music piped into the lobby. Way too loud!

Hotel was fine, fitness room was excellent, basket of apples at the front desk very welcome. Staff very friendly! Room plan with regard to the bathroom is a bit awkward, but OK. They kept forgetting to bring me a breakfast menu to leave my order on the door, but brought one promptly every night when I called to ask for one. One morning they also forgot to bring breakfast! But staff comped me breakfast the next day to compensate. Overall i was satisfied enough. I think they tried hard.

The hotel was very good, however they double charged my stay. I was billed by hotels.com and they then charged the stay plus parking. Also, I had a pre-authorization that came out of my account for the same amount. The account I was using is one I only put so much money in and I then became overdrawn and other items I had used the card with were sent back.

We enjoyed our recent stay. Our only disappointment was the Sunday brunch buffet at the hotel restaurant. Slow service and the host bordered on rude. When we got there the restaurant was less than 1/2 full but we were asked to wait 20 min. then were sat at a sofa with 2 chairs, not an ideal set up for 5 adults and a 1yr old. Asking to use one of the many vacant tables earned us a dirty look and sigh. After 10 min seated we went to the back of the bar and got our own drinks. So skip the brunch- find somewhere else.

The hotel had a nice pretty much everything. My mom also stayed in another room. My allergies started going off a little though while I was there. My mom's allergies were going off as well. We figured that there might be a mold problem in the bathroom since the bathroom has no fan.
