"Cramped room with a view"
The Exeter Inn is a nice place, but the room we stayed at was almost comically small. It lacked a dresser and all but the smallest table. A queen-sized bed took up nearly the entire space. The bathroom was so small that you had to tuck yourself into the corner to close the door and the there was virtually no counter space in there. It's an old hotel, […] and my guess is there is little they can do on the size of some rooms, but they ought not to be renting those to two people. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We came here for my wife's birthday and loved it. 0 complaints or concerns. We were even upgraded to a suite so that we'd have a place to store our bicycles. Turn down service had chocolate chip cookies....better than chocolate. As a surprise, we hit town to find the Exeter UFO Festival there at the same time.......Take it where you will. Will (not […] "would"...WILL) stay there again. Couldn't be happier. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good night's stay."
We enjoyed the one night's stay while we were there for the Seafood Festival in Hampton beach. It was easy to get to, the bed was comfortable, the room was nice but small. I thought rates for the room was a little on the expensive side. Also there was only one robe and 1 pair of slippers, what about if there's two people staying in the room. Also slippers […] should be washed and changed from guest to guest, just a suggestion. Other than that we enjoyed our one night stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exeter Inn -- small junior suites"
These rooms are very small. I am a thin guy, but I couldn't even sit at the desk without moving the bed backwards by 12". Also, be warned that the hotel uses hot water radiator heat. Great during the winter, I'm sure, but until they turn on their heating system, the rooms are cold during cool late summer/fall evenings.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exeter Inn in NH"
Very nice Inn but the room was very small. Hardly had room to walk around the bed. This was a big negative in our eyes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old Maid Rejuvenated"
This is a great old hotel made new. Everything is renewed while keeping the good old bones. Almost across from the Phillips Exeter School is a great place to stay for visiting family. Rooms are on the small side (ours was a junior queen, requiring some tight navigation around the bed) but very well appointed with good quality furniture and flat screen […] TV plus free and fast wifi. Bathroom is modern with small but well utilized space and lots ot towels. There was even a good size table if one needed work space. The bar is a great space for meeting old locals and for a quick dinner and drinks. Breakfast, while not included was reasonably priced and of exceptional quality. "Exeter Exceptional-A True Oasis in New Hampshire"
Exeter Inn gets an A+ from me. There was nothing but great service, great restaurant, bar, lobby, and room. The staff made us feel like we were visiting old friends and couldn't do enough to make our stay a memorable one. The local small town was just so quaint and charming, and at the same time, offered nearly every thing we needed. The people we met […] in town were warm and helpful. We will stay at the Exeter Inn on our future trips to visit our family and friends in New Hampshire. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Comfortable and Relaxing"
This hotel is clearly an old building, but it has all the modern conveniences (flat screen tv, free wi-fi, etc.). It's the little extra touches they do that make it so special. Such as a cozy terry robe and slippers in the closet and home-made cookies delivered to your room in the evening and turn-down service. Our room was quite small so I would probably […] upgrade when we go again. Since it was only my husband and myself and 2 nights, it was just fine though. I would recommend to family and friends! "Suberb except for restaurant"
We loved the inn. Our room was very nice, clean, bed super comfortable, digital thermostat, cookies waiting for us on arrival, really really nice. My only complaint is that we went to the restaurant for sunday brunch and it took so long that we decided to leave before we even had the chance to order (which was after about 15 minutes of sitting there, […] no exaggeration, while the waitress and hostess talked among themselves). they also did not even notice that we were leaving....other than that, it was excellent. The place to stay in the biutiful city of Exeter, NH. The Jr Queen Room was a bit small but the charm of this historical (and hopefully renovated) hotel made it a great experience. We will come back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fishing Trip to NH"
Sadly, I was very dissappointed with this hotel. The rooms were not clean (floors in bathroom were filthy, hair in shower drain). The hotel needs serious renovation. The carpets smell of mildew, there was very little counter space available in the bathroom, and there were no screens on three of the 4 windows in our room. Lastly, the wallpaper was peeling […] in the bathroom, and there was cracked and broken tiles in the shower. The hotel front desk/ and housekeeping service was lacking. We asked for towels and never received them (there was only one set of towels in the bathroom for two adults. There were a couple positive aspects about the hotel. One, the turndown service was a nice touch and included fresh baked cookies. Second, the hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic. Very contemporary in contrast to the rest of the hotel. We had dinner and brunch at the restaurant and the food was awesome! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal stay for ideal getaway!"
This is a wonderful place to stay in an idyllic town. I love Exeter, but had never stayed at the Exeter Inn. I will be back! The inn has great amenities, and a perfect location: a nice walk to the heart of the village, close to PEA, but calm and quiet in the immediate vicinity. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, but that was […] the only small quibble. I would highly recommend thie Exeter Inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were very pleased with the Inn, the staff were friendly and helpful, room was simple but clean and the bed was comfortable. The only problem was the bathroom tiles needed repair. The location was great , Exeter is a beautiful town. 15 minutes to the beach & 20 minutes to outlets. We would stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great restaurant, mediocre hotel"
The hotel is very nice on the outside. Nice gardens and lighting. The inside bar area and restaurant are also very pleasing to the eye. This seems to be where the updates ended. The front desk reception area is tired. There is nothing exciting about the interior hallways and very little common areas. Rooms are tiny, which is fine given the style of […] property, but given the style this hotel seems to want to be, I was disappointed that there was no coffee makers in the room, and as silly as it seems the toilet paper was 1-ply truck stop tissue. Just seems that they are cutting costs unnecessarily, assuming people won't notice or care. They did offer complimentary coffee at reception, but I find this a nuisance ti have to get up, dressed just to get my morning coffee. They do offer turn down service, with cookies which was a nice touch. They food at Epoch, was fabulous. I was quite impressed and intrigued by the menu, and the items ordered did not disappoint. I would highly recommend a meal (I only had dinner) here. With some small changes to this hotel, clean comforters (they should go to sheets around the duvet, like most hotels these days), coffee makers, better tissue and a friendlier reception desk staff (never once said hello or good morning or good evening when you walked past to get a coffee or leave the hotel) this hotel would be much easier to recommend Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
There was a wet area on the rug in the room. Upon leaving the coffee was almost empty and little milk available. All the hannels for the tv did not appear until the evening.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exeter Inn- Can't wait to come back!!"
We just got back from our stay at The Exeter Inn and can't wait to come back! We stayed in a junior suite (it was small) but it met all of our needs. We were greeted by very courteous staff at the front desk and the pleasantly surprised when we were given homemade cookies as part of turn down service!! We had breakfast on the beautiful patio at Epoch […] (restaurant on premises) the morning we checked out...big mistake because we wanted to stay even longer at The Exeter Inn afterwards! The Exeter Inn is just 25 min from Hampton Beach and 20 min from Kittery Outlet Malls and 15 min from Portsmouth. This is why we have to come back...we just did not have enough time to enjoy The Exeter Inn or the town of Exeter as much as we would like! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A very nice hotel in a beautiful historic town. Very nice touches - bath robe, cookies in room in the evening. Enjoyed our stay immensely.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Lovely hotel...clean, retro, yet modern. Upscale bathroom appliances have funky touches. [The bathroom tiles could use a little mending though.] The restaurant in the hotel serves quality meals. Exeter is a quaint destination with lovely shops within walking distance from the hotel. The variety of shops back onto the river and some of the restaurants […] have patios that over-look the river...serene.

Genuine Hotels.com guest review
