Best Western Hotel Los Condes - Madrid

Hotel is right off Gran Via but the street the hotel is on looks a little rough. Bed was comfortable and TV was HD. The breakfast was quite sad.

Nice hotel down an alleyway from the Avenida de Liberdade. Wonderful staff. Did not try the breakfast buffet. Walked to the Prado and many other places of interest. Would love to be back at this hotel now as Madrid is great!!

Clean, relatively well located and super nice staff! The only thing I didn't like was the street fights at 2 in the morning lol it definetly get a bit too crazy at night specially if your coming to the hotel late. Other than that good, nice hotel that is affordable.

The hotel's location is fantastic and the best selling point. It is close to the Callao and Santo Domingo metro stops, Fuencarral market, Gran Via, Puerta del Sol, and several other notable places. Pros: good location close to city attractions, shuttle to the airport available, clean hotel room, friendly receptionist service. Cons: Not so good room service, our room was noisy close to elevator and at night you could hear street noise. Wi-fi internet worked in the hotel lobby but not in the room as advertised. Average morning breakfast.

The hotel is ok. The room has a good size, it was clean and with comfortable bed. I have not used any service besides the breakfast, but the staff seemed gentle. Its location is very good (about 100 from the Gran Via, 150 m from the Callao metro station, 5 minute walking from Plaza de Espana).

it is conveniently located to everything. If you are looking for a place to stay at night, which is ok. No other activities. It says you have a wireless. But it takes a while to connect to it. If you have iphone or ipad, you have to ask how to go through it. But it allows only one electronic item to connect. So if you connect your iphone, your computer […] or ipad will not be allowed. The staff at the front desk was friendly, helpful, polite, and attentive. They identify and recognize strangers who enter the building, which makes me feel safe. I came by myself for a quick three day vacation in early March to Madrid from the US. I'm not really an experienced traveller and this was my first visit to Spain. The staff was friendly, spoke english, and helpful with questions. The room was very small, especially by US standards (maybe 8ft by 12 feet). Never felt closed in though. The room had a TV with 30+ cable channels, only found one in english (BBC news), but that was fine, I wasn't there for the TV. The location was good right off of Gran Via. The hotel is located on a little side street off of Gran Via...slightly sketchy for that 1 minute walk off the main street, but nothing that would make me change my hotel. I probably wouldn't stay here again, but only because I'd want to explore other parts of the city and stay closer to those areas. Overall, this hotel was perfect for a first timer wanting to be near everything in central Madrid and for a very good price. I stayed at this hotel September 11-14,2011. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to The Grand Via the main street for shopping, restaurants,bus stop and metro. This was my first time in Spain. I would stay there again and would recommend this hotel.

Location is good, close enough to all the hot spot yet away from the crow. Its an old hotel, so don't expect high tech amenities. The safe cost $1 euro each use. I won't come back because the maid came into our room while we were sleeping and the hotel manager blame me for such mistakes since I didn't manually lock my door.

I read alot of mixed reviews on this hotel. The hotel was clean, big enough and the staff was friendly. Didn't eat at the restaurant. The hotel is hard to locate, loud and probably not in the cleanest part of town. Price and easy access to all was the factor in choosing it. Due to our arrival and departure times it was a bit tricky to get here. Off […] Gran Via coming up from Ciebles plaza It's right around the corner from KFC and McDonald's. You can take the "Yellow Express" bus from airport for 2 euro to get here. About a 20 min. walk from drop off. The metro closes down at 1am and starts back up at 6am. The local buses stop running too.Best metro stop for hotel is Santo Domingo right across the street. Remember hotel can't be seen off Gran Via. Calle De Silva is the street right before it that is easly visible since the street signs are on the side of the buildings. Light sleepers should not stay here! There is also lots of theaters in the area and restaurants. Taxi from the hotel to airport cost 32 euro for three with one suitecase each(small) Yes,I would stay here again. Even if you choose to stay somewhere else this part of town is a good location. Front desk will make copy of your passport and you drop key off everytime you leave. I stayed for four nights, the room I stayed in had a very strong smell of a broken sewer pipe in the room. As soon as you walked in you could smell it. I thought it would be temporary but the smell stayed for the duration of my stay. Although the intensity changed depending on the neighboring rooms using their bathrooms. I also was not happy with the […] fact the no one helped me with my bags as I arrived. I was by myself and had 3 pieces of luggage since I was technically moving into Madrid. I had to carry them and move them around on my own. Everything else was okay I guess. There is a safe in the room but make sure you bring with you a one euro coin, since it is operated by coins. The internet wasn't that great either, they use a hotspot so don't count on the internet in the hotel for business or important work. I had to go to other places to use the internet. The hotel wasnt that bad. But it had his faults. The internet connection wasnt very good, but it was free. The airco wasnt avaliable 24 hours. The hotel turns it off during the day to save money. Meaning that you need to call the fron desk if your staying in that day, so they can turn back on the airco witch can take a little while. My biggest problem […] was the tv, the connection comes and goes. Meanning ou are watching a fill and then it falls out, and can't conect again. Its like a loterij if you get to watch the same channel the next day. Also it can be a problem for some people that all the channels are in spanish. Read more

The hotel staff was not very friendly. We called a few days before to get directions from the metro and they did not send us the correct way. We were coming from the airport so it was very frustrating with all our bags. I would recommend taking a taxi. There are several best westerns in Madrid including one right around the corner. It can be confusing […] so be sure of the one your picking. The location was nice. A lot of good restaurants and shopping. The hotel is close to the metro, just not the one they told us to get off. There is no lift when you first enter the hotel so we had to bring all our down several stairs. The hotel also has wifi, but we got little to no signal in our room. Los Condes is well-situated if you want to be near the Gran Via, but is a crappy, poorly maintained little hole in the wall (which our cab driver got lost trying to find). The room was itsy-bitsy, even by European standards, but most of all, the bathroom smelled like nothing I've ever experienced.
