This hotel is in front of Madrid Atocha train station which is hub of all trains departed from Madrid. I did day trip to Toledo and Segovia from Madrid, so it was very convenient. Also the hotel is very close to the city's three most famous are museums. Therefore location was really good. However, single room I had was very very tiny. About the only negative thing I have to say is that this hotel has tiny bedrooms and my room faced what looked like an emergency stairwell, but who cares! The hotel is directly across the street from the main train station and also the bus that will take you to the airport for 5 Euro. It is very nice to get dropped of their from the airport. The hotel has thin walls so it is not quiet at night, aslo my room faced the train station so their were taxi's honking their horns all night. There is also a metro […] right outside the hotel door which was great. The rooms were the typical small European hotel rooms but it was big enough. They leave you a toothbrush/paste, shower cap, shampoo and body soap. The only thing they ever refilled was the soap. I was there 6 nights and they never replaced the toothbrush or shower cap. Pros: they let me check in at 0930, room was clean, very close to Prado and Atocha train station, can go for a nice run in the Parque del Retiro just round the corner. Cons: room was very small and felt kind of institutional. Internet was stupidly expensive, 10 Euros/day for "economy" connection. But I think that's normal for Madrid, unfortunately.

The location is excellent. It is right across the Atocha Station. The windows were not tightly being closed even though we tried hard. The curtains weren't able to be closed and cold draft came in through the gap and I couldn't sleep. Finally I could fall into sleep after I put some plastic bags I had into the gap of windows. Nh Sur is ideally located between the 2 Atocha metro stops across from the main train station, making this an easy departure point for getting in and out of Madrid and traveling within Madrid. But don't just consider the location for convenience to transportation. It's a short walk through parks to the Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen and Caixa. Our room on the 8th floor was overheated mid-December and we couldn't turn off the radiator in the bathroom. Hotel very convenient to Atocha railway station, metro station, Parque del Buen Retiro, Museo del Prado, Reina Sophia and the Las Huertas neighborhood. Arriving by train it's hard to figure out where to go (hint: hotel is next to the huge Ministry of Agriculture building across from the station, so ask for that). The tourist info + map strangely not […] available in the huge railway station, but rather next to Reina Sophia. Hotel was well maintained and my room very quiet, astonishingly so at one of the busiest locations in the city. The one significant downer: guests are limited to 30 min free wifi in the lobby and it cuts out when done; otherwise absurdly expensive (about 1/4 of the roomrate for 24 hours wifi in your room). The Hotel is across the street from Atocha station. The neighborhood is actually not seedy as most train station neighborhoods. It is walking distance from Prado and other museums, from St. Anna Square and tapas district. The hotel itself is clean, modern and friendly. The bathroom is not small as some other european hotels. We took a taxi to the hotel from the airport paying about 20 Euros. The taxi driver wasn't familiar with the hotel, but we found it with little difficulty after pointing out on a map we brought how close it was to the Altocha station. Check in was smooth if a little slow. The hotel's location is fabulous, although there weren't as many nearby eateries […] as I'd expected after reading other reviews. Still, a 10-minute walk yielded some great finds. The hotel is better than one can expect for the very low rate. It really is a good deal, and the room was good, even more comfortable than I expected for our one-night stay. The room was a little old and maybe a little dusty, but the bed was comfortable enough with crisp white linens, and the location was fabulous, as we walked with our luggage to catch the train from the Altocha station to Barcelona. We had difficulty locking our door, but discovered a trick to get it to lock. The location is great because of the proximity to the train station and Prado. We found the small lobby and breakfast area to be comfortable. We did not eat the breakfast but saw others enjoying hot food along with fresh pastries. We took advantage of the free 30-minute blocs of wifi access (accessible only in the lobby area) to catch up on email. Overall a great hotel for a short stay and would choose to stay there again. We just stayed at this hotel for one night on a stopover from Valencia to Madrid Barajas airport. It was clean and comfortable albeit the rooms were a bit small, but totally fine for a night. It's not right where I would want to stay in Madrid if i was there for longer - we'd stay nearer to Plaza Mayor - but it is just great for a stopover.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Madrid. Near the station for metro's. Walkable to the Prado and other museums too. Walkable to the main Plaza's. Perfect for getting around Madrid. Lots of nice Bodega's around too for non expensive but lovely meals. The only down side was the beakfast which was not worth 16 Euro's. We had booked room only but […] decided on our last day to have a breakfast in the hotel before we left but in hind sight we should have just went to one of the local places to eat as we had done before. We booked a double bed room through Expedia. When we arrived we discovered our room had twin beds. Reception claimed that Expedia had never passed on our request for a double bed. They could only offer us a smoking double bed room, which stank horribly of stale tobacco smoke, as an alternative, which we rejected. The hotel is very pokey and the corridors […] look immensely soulless. Location is ideal if all you want is stay overnight as near as possible from Atocha rail station, but beware you need to use the right station exit or else you will be in for a lengthy walk around Puerta de Atocha as the station is huge and it has many exits in all directions, thus discounting the proximity factor. Overpriced for a functional, ugly 3-star which proved very difficult to find in the dark. Ask them for a discount and do contact them direct to make sure you get a double bed, as otherwise you won't. ３連泊した。外出して帰るたびにカードキーが使えなくなり、その都度、フロントで新たに磁気？を正しく変えてもらった。「なぜだ？」と聞くと「分からない。携帯電話と一緒に持って歩いているからじゃないか？」との答え。システムが悪いとか、カードキーそのものの磁気が弱くなっているのではとか、とにかく自分たちに非があると考えているふうは全くなかった。セキュリティという大事な部分を扱うのに、それはなかろうという感じ。スタッフの対応としてはいかがなものか。

マドリッドに到着したのが夜だったので少しわかりにくかったが、空港から国鉄を利用してアトーチャ駅したが、駅のそばだったので地上を通って5分でたどり着けた。翌日明るくなってから駅まで行ってみたら、なんと1分もかからずに地下鉄アトーチャ・レンフェ駅への出入り口まで行けることがわかった。隣にはプエルタ・デ・アトーチャ駅（中・長距離用）があるのでＡＶＥなど鉄道を利用して遠くへ出かけるにも大変便利。ホテルは大通りに面しているが、部屋は通りと反対側で大変静かであった。（窓からの景色は期待しない）今回バスタブ付きシングルだったが、一人で過ごすにはちょうどよかった。洗面所の備品で歯ブラシがあったことには驚いた。ただ、バスタブがやや小さく全身でつかることができなった。朝食はついていなかったので、7時過ぎにアトー […] チャ駅まで行ってチュロスとコーヒーの食事をとった。（わずか2.2ユーロでおいしかった） Read more

アトーチャ駅からすぐの場所にあるため、大きな荷物を持っている人、ホテルの場所を探すのが不安な人には大変便利です。プラド美術館も植物園も数十メートルの範囲内にあります。繁華街（ソル）や王宮も、少し頑張れば歩いて行けます。部屋の照明はやや暗いです。廊下からの音がよく聞こえますが、部屋からの音漏れはほとんど無いようです。セビリア出張の前後泊に利用しましたが、前泊はバスタブ付、後泊はシャワーブースのみでした。シャワーブースは男性にはかなり狭いです。朝食は新鮮なハムやチーズ、ヨーグルトがありますが、生野菜はほとんど無いものと覚悟された方が良いでしょう。フロントはとても親切で、前泊時、午前中の到着にも拘らず、チェックインさせてもらえました。セキュリティも不安を全く感じませんでした。

El hotel está un poco viejo, pero está muy bien situado y no era caro. Queda a 50m de la boca de metro de Atocha-Renfe, a unos 300m de la estación de trenes de atocha, y a bastante cercano al paseo del prado.
