Bottom line is the hotel is low cost with ocean views. You will not be staying at a top of the line place. However, you will have a relatively clean (because the place is older, there are expected signs of wear & tear) place to sleep while you enjoy the beach!

The prior reviews freaked me out, so I was expecting the worst. I was pleased that our stay was better than expected. La'Tria checked us in early, so we got access to the room, parking, and beach fun 2 hours earlier than promised... GREAT!! The "partial ocean view" and 4-foot high solid (not see-through at all!!) balcony railing leaves much to be desired... […] You have stand up to see the ocean and Boardwalk area across the parking lot. Neptune statue is big enough to see in the distance... LOL! Booked adjoining rooms, since we were traveling as a family, but the outside door lock on one of the rooms was inoperable... Had to use the deadbolt and everybody came and went through the door that had a working lock... Okay for family, but not everyone else. Elevator was small and slow, but I expected that. Rooms were clean, and location was good...short walk to the Boardwalk. Overall, not the worst place I have ever stayed... I got what I paid for compared to the rates other hotels in the area charge. The room had been redone and was very nice and the staff was friendly. Parking was convenient. The stairway did smell. The elevator was small but worked okay and the hallways are narrow. Overall it was a good value for the money and I would stay there again.

Bathroom was not clean...hair from past residents, razor casings were on floor. Very dusty lights throughout room. Door lock had issues, was loose. Close to beach but not beach side like advertised - it is across the street. Pictures on site must have been taken when it first opened because it doesn't look anything like them!

Surrounded by big beautiful hotels, this one is small yet has potential to be very nice but is in rather poor condition in comparison. I guess getting a decent place at lower rates than the big guys get was too much to ask for. I had hopes for the room but was disappointed. I had to request a roll of toilet paper as we only had small amount on roll upon arrival and 2 of our towels disappeared after an outing (small nuisances but just not expected). The pictures of the place look great online but not quite an accurate depiction of all the rooms,. We did have a fridge and microwave in the room and those were helpful to have. So if you can't afford the higher priced places along the shore and want to be close to the beach and don't mind shabby surroundings, then this place will do. It would be so much better with upgrades such as new carpets and some paint. Plus we couldn't access the pool due to rainy conditions and breakfast offerings were pretty bland. I booked this hotel for a week for my daughters 10th birthday, it was just me and her. I have been to Virginia Beach many times, and had never stayed here. It was the worst thing i ever did! Outside the room the hotel is pretty disappointing but the room is not so bad after all. If you are trying to save some money on a cheaper hotel this hotel is just what you need. It's located on a perfect spot in Atlantic ave. I didnt regret my stayed in the hotel after all.

For the price and location is was barable. The staff wasn't going to go out of their way to please you but they were nice. And within an hour of my husband and my arrival our room was also given to another family! My husband and I were both getting ready for a concert that night and if my husband hadn't gotten to the door when he did their room key […] would have opened our door and their family (with 3 small children) would have gotten more then just a room with a view! But fortunately my husband told them we already had this room and they went downstairs and I guess it got taken care of. But before we left some guys got into a disagreement in the hallway, their voices were raised but they were speaking so fast and loudly in Spanishy husband and I weren't sure what was going on, so we waited before leaving so we didn't get caught up in something we wanted no part in. Then when we got back there were a lot of people partying and such. We got to know the very loud couple above us a little too well! And then the next morning another altercation in the hallway, followed by a very rude wake up reminder knock at our door that check out was at 11am. When it was only 8:30-9am. Wasn't pleased, specially since it was our anniversary. But for the location I was happy. If you are only staying a night or 2 not bad, but wouldn't stay longer then that. I was under the impression each room came with a mini-frig and micorowave--neither were in the room--the bathroom needs either some seriouse "mold" scrubbing or replacing the grout would be my suggestion--the elevator needs a fan--however over all I would stay again-perfect location and the employees were very friendly.

Upon checking in we noticed the room had no frig or microwave as the hotel advertised. When questioned, they simply said those things came with an updated room. In my opinion, they falsely advertised their lodging facilities. We had to tell the housekeepers each day what we needed in the room.
