This was our very first time staying at the Princess Royale and I must say that I was very impressed, sometimes pictures that you see before you book ain't always the way it is once you get there in person, but this was not the case.. Our room had a king size bed that was very comfortable and a pull out sofa for our 2 children, the kitchen area was just the right size for our family, Our room was over looking the pool area that was decorated beautifully for the Christmas holiday. I would highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends.

The Princess Royale is a very nice hotel with many amenities. It's almost like a mini-city, with it's own shops, salon, restaurant (overpriced!) and fitness center. It is right on the beach which is very beautiful. Parking is kind of a hassle, and the entire hotel smelled like chlorine. The one thing that stands out was the front end staff - absolutely the rudest folks I've ever dealt with. Any question was met with open disdain, which is wholly unacceptable. The housekeeping staff, however, were great. Very friendly and the room was spotless!

My expectations were for a nice room with a king sized bed and an ocean front view. Instead we received 2 queens and a view of the indoor poool area. The tv in the living area did not work. The smoke alarm in the room went off without any apparent reason and the only way I could turn it off was to switch off the breaker box. The toilet had mechanical problems flushing the first day we were there, so I had too manually take the cover off and fix it. I received a good price due to being there in the off season however if I would have paid peak prices I would have been infuriated.

when i walked into the hotel for check-in, i was not greeted at all. we asked where to park, and were given the wrong directions, which made us go into a garage not for guests. the restaurant on premises had a very bored-looking staff, and an even gloomier menu. we ran out of toilet paper during the stay, simply because they did not leave enough. on a positive note, the hotel was clean and the amenities were lovely. overall, the hotel really needs to work on customer service and friendliness.

The hotel is set right on the ocean and has a great indoor pool facility. They also provide a shower/changing room on check out day that comes in handy. There are two issues that bother me. We booked a room with two Queen Beds and got one King Bed. I saw this has happened to others. They gave us a roll away bed instead of another room. Not Acceptable! The food at the hotel restaurant buffet is excellent, but the signs throughout the hotel has chicken and ribs for $14.95 and when you get in the restaurant it is $16.95. They also add a 15% tip on the buffet bill. I like to make my own decision.

The hotel is literally few steps away from the beach...with great family atmosphere kind of crowd. I enjoyed hanging out in the patio of the hotel's restaurant...it's got a great view of the water plus friendly and smiling staff. I was impressed of the granite top on the coffee table, counter and bathroom sink. Everyone was friendly. Things that needs improvement though are the carpeting which is a litle bit worn out and the bathroom door knob in one of the rooms which is tough to lock/unlock. Overall it was a great hotel...I truly enjoyed my weekend vacation there.

The parking garage ramps have very tight corners. Scrape marks along the walls indicate that large vehicles have had problem entering/exiting the parking garage. After we checked into our room, our bathroom did not have any towels and we had to call the front desk to ask for towels. The fire alarm went off at around 11 PM on our first night, so we had to evacuate along with everyone in the hotel. Guests had wait and hold little sleeping children until the fire department cleared the false fire alarm. Our room had a suite which was nice and the bedroom was comfortable and the balcony looks out to the ocean.

I was given a room on the ground floor, indoors, with the window facing some gaming machines. Awful. After two days, I found a rat, and only then they agreed to move me to another room, also facing the indoor pool. That was better. The idea of a room with an indoor balcony is suffocating. Even though I asked for a room facing the ocean, or even the street, but outdoor, they claimed there was non available. They run the hotel with a bunch of inexperienced summer exchange students. It shows. They never checked if things worked in the room. The coffee table won't come on, the paper tissue was left with only one in, and the safe box did not work. For the price you are paying, do yourself a favor and find some other place. Oh, and if you think you can speak to a manager there, well they will give you the card of the owners who do not live on the location (they are smart).

A very nice hotel with a lovely large atrium and indoor pool. Helpful, nice staff. The room/suite was nicer than most "efficiency rooms" in OC because you actually have a separate bedroom. Easily housed family of 5 (teenager had the sofabed in living room) . Nicely remodeled kitchen and spacious bath with upgraded surfaces (ceramic tile, man-made granite counters). No conventional oven in kitchen but had a full sized refrigerator and microwave, small electric cook-top and dishwasher. Great room, especially for the price and amenities the hotel offered. Would gladly stay there again.

Downside was at booking we requested 2 beds but ended up with a king, so my teens had to share the pull out sofa. We asked to be switched at check in but they were all full and couldn't get us a room with 2 queens instead. The sofa was a poor comparison to the excellent Temprpedic mattress we had. Also, no toaster in kitchen and no cereal bowls either which limited what we could do to stay in for breakfast.Great location on beach and room facing pool reall was quite when doors closed. Pool was always in use but you couldn't tell from in room. Nice TV's too. When we go back to OC i'll book there again!

There was only one elevator working so we waited a long time for one or took the stairs. It gave us some exercise though. The safe in the room wasn't bolted to the floor. anyone could have carried it out of the room. Other than that, we The Princess is great place to stay.

I had booked a hotel on the boardwalk initially. A week before we were to be there for our vacation, something led me to the hotels web site and to the comments that were left by previous guests. To my surprise the comments were awful. After reading about ten of those, I decided to scramble and try to find something else. I didn't want our vacation ruined because of mold, mildew, filth and unfriendly service. I ended up on Hotels.com and found the Princess Royale Family Resort. There was availability so I took it. What a great decision! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The building and room was extremely clean and well maintained. Though the weather left a lot to be desired while we were there (not something that can be controlled), our stay was awesome and we will return in the future. I would highly recommend this resort to any family looking for a nice place to stay while on vacation.

They wanted me to come downstairs so they could swipe my card. When I refused because I was in my pj's they sent security. Terrible visit, will NEVER return. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. We knew we were in trouble the moment we arrived. The hotel was full of 500 Army recruters and their wives. The pool and saunas were closed for the Armys private party. The restaurant canceled the buffets Saturday night and Sunday morning to cater the Army functions. The desk clerk was rude and tried to give us a room by the pool deck with the Army band outside our door. Only with a much heated discussion were we able to change our room. The bell staff was unavailable because they were helping only the Army. Had we known all of this we never would have booked at this hotel.
