Everything was great until on the last day we were staying here the Engineering Dept decided it was okay to start work at 8 AM with heavy equipment like jack hammers. The sound just vibrated through the walls and completely ruined the stay. I first called the main desk and the peson on the desk could have cared less so I went down to the desk. When […] I got down there she was arguing with another guest on the phone about the noise. I told her I was there for the same reason. My name was taken down but nothing happened in the end.There were other guest that came down at the same time I did also highly upset about the noise. Supposedly a notice was handed out but not to the guest that were complaining like myself. I worked in hotels thorough the years in managerial positions and understand that Engineering should be talking to the front desk about ongoing project that might affect the guests. I even asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience but was told sorry you booked through a third party so take it up with them. Good luck. Staff might need to learn a few things. Read more

Room was OK, but lacking thingsd (like a mini-fridge). The bathroom could have been cleaer (mold on shower curtain, hair in conrners). There are otehr hotels in teh area that offter uch more, but they were booked due to the Hurricane Sandy needs and the holiday. Managed poorly, can't believe they don't have a place in the resort for a lousy cup of coffee???? Staff was unprofessional and mostly young teens - for the price you'd expect professional staff and service. However, everything else was beautiful - access to private beach, walking to variety of restaurants, comfy room, etc. Would love to return!

Hotel/room seemed pretty standard. Nothing special. Asked for a king bed, but got 2 full beds. Asked the front desk for an infant crib, but they never sent one. Room was clean when we arrived. For a "resort", they had no planned activities. It did not have a resort feel. There was no valet parking and no complimentary coffee. For the price, these things were expected. Coffee was available if you walked out to the boardwalk and paid 2.00 for a very small cup. These things alone did not make our stay comfortable. The rooms were nothing fancy, […] just a hotel room. The beach was crowded and so was the pool-we didn't stay long in either place due to the overcrowding.. This was extremely disappointing since we were so looking forward to the beach. The spa services were very good. I had a wonderful facial and was looking to buy the moisturizers, etc....only to be told they didn"t have any---all out! The service in the restaurants was horrible. I felt bad for our server. He was a bartender, had 5 tables to serve for lunch and since the Tiki bar was busy they were also asking him to make drinks for them . Poor management, not the server's fault. When we were checking out, someone mentioned they thought there was a rooftop bar---oh really? There was nothing in the hotel room about the hotel or its amenities, so we may have missed some things. Nice location on the beach, but facility is a bit tired and everything is overpriced. Staff very nice, but service not in line with price. Cleanliness so-so. Service was poor. Check in was inefficient. Front desk not helpful in providing info on shopping and restaurants in the area. Live band in the bar area was too loud and it was difficult to sleep at night with the noise. Got a splitting headache. Good location right next to beach and boardwalk.

The ocean view, and proximity to the ocean, was great. Friendly, helpful staff. The room was a bit run down - loose handle on the sliding glass door to the balcony, bare spots in the ceiling stucco.

I stayed here two years ago, and completed a survey afterward, pointing out that the hotel itself is lovely, but the rooms need some work. I specifically pointed out that the bathroom door in my room looked like it had been kicked, as there was a dent big enough that the surface was broken, and it looked cheap. I received a nice letter from the manager […] thanking me, and assuring me they were going to fix up the room. I returned two years later, and I am assigned the exact same room, and the dent is still in the bathroom door! This is so sad, because the public spaces in the hotel are quite nice. The perfect place...if the service was better. I spoke with the hotel 4-5 times while booking, and was NEVER told that reservations were needed WEEKS in advance to get spa appointments. This is a Resort Spa. Not one member of my party could get an appointment. Staff was a little snippy telling me "You should have known better" I realize New Jersey has […] tough laws on not serving alcohol to minors but they need to use a little common sense. I am a 57year old woman. I do not ever bring my ID onto the beach. Again, I was told in a snippy manner by a young worker, that if I wanted a drink at the outside bar, I needed to show Id. Really?? They expect their guests to walk from the beach (wet & full of sand) through the lobby , up to their rooms to get ID??? They lost my business. I walked into town with my husband and friends and had drinks there. I would love to visit the hotel again.(Because of how close it is and how nice the beach is) However, next time I will speak to a manager first. Make my spa appts., show my ID at the front desk and request a special bracelet to use during my stay. My suggestion to management is to screen their staff better.
