Incredibly rude and unprofessional front desk and Manager on duty. Refused to help my daughter were going to send her away because the name on the fully paid for 500$ room was not correct. Said "sorry we are fully booked and cannot check u in." I had to call in the middle of the night and demand the correction and demand they check her in. Not what one would expect from this hotel not the type of guest relations that should be instilled on both the front desk and manager on duty.

Our "city view" was actually over the parking lot, not mentioned in the description! Beds very nice, bathroom a bit small with the waste basket right in the middle. Dark corridors, but I suppose that's hip.

Deluxe City view rooms certainly not luxurious My room overlooked a parking lot. The room itself was clean but nothing specail. The Huntly is well maintained and the location is great. When I visit Santa Monica I will seek out another hotel with more amenities.

we were suppose to have a deluxe city view . Our view was of a roof of an apartment complex ! we choose a smoking room and when we got there they said there was no smoking in the hotel, they had changed to a non smoking hotel. They need to update thier web site. Not worth the Price at all !!

Staff were courteous. Facility was clean and well kept. Room was comfortable and provided view of the ocean. Not quite beach front property, but not bad either. Location is great, very short walk to the Third Street Promenade, and of course, Santa Monica Beach. Amenities were provided, along with snack bar and mini fridge. Room service was prompt and courteous.

I was fairly disappointed in this hotel. It promises (and charges) a lot but does not deliver in a hundred small ways. A few examples: giving us (a couple) one key and making us go back for another; charging (high) fees for every conceivable service (wifi, parking, water, etc.); bathroom incredibly small (with a shower that did not drain and a toilet seat crammed against the shower and unevenly set). It all looks really pretty at first, but then you look closer and see the chipped paint in the bathroom, the cheap plywood drawers off their tracks, and lots of other things (e.g. the beds were just alright and certainly not to compare to the Westin). Also, the location is off the beach front road, but the hotels facing the water were the same price (and I wish I had done that since this hotel was nothing to write home about. On the plus side, it was clean and they gave me a newspaper in a cute bag in the morning. In general, meh.

We've stayed here before and it's located in great spot. The valet people are the best. The room's are nice but can really vary from gorgeous to nice. The bed is really comfortable. They are always clean but we did have a housekeeper announce but then opened the door too quickly. The Penthouse restaurant is the best around. Great drinks, awesome food, the best staff. We loved it. When in Santa Monica the Huntley is really the only hotel we'll stay with. Hotel staff could be friendlier and more consistent. We went to get a coffee and the girl behind the counter was not too friendly and made us uncomfortable.

The staff and public areas of the hotel are top notch. The actual rooms are quite small and the walls are quite thin. I could literally here snoring and even throat clearing in the rooms on either side.

I spent one night at the Huntley to celebrate my birthday. I had dinner at The Penthouse, which was delicious with yummy cocktails. The valets were super helpful and polite. I was only slightly disappointed that my oceanview room was more like what I would expect other hotels to categorize as partial oceanview. However, overall, I had a very nice stay and would stay there again.

I was on a trip in which I stayed in three luxury hotels in 3 different cities, and this one was the worst. Some of the staff is wonderful (bell station), while others are pretentious. The woman that checked us in at the desk was new and confused about who was going into what room. Still, she was borderline rude to members of my not so well traveled midwestern family. The bartender upstairs gave succinct and not especially helpful answers to questions regarding different types of drinks. The waitress upstairs gave me the once over as I had my "game-day" clothes on in her restaurant (only there to have a drink). Good view of the city from up top but it would have been nice to have been treated more politely. The fitness center is small and very limited. Location is great, which was a bonus. I booked a room that had an "ocean view" and I would say that it was a bit of an exaggeration. Yes, I could see the ocean if I leaned and looked out the window in a particular way...

Room was decent. Stayed in a 2 queen bed room. Quiet first night, loud second night with people partying in room next to us at 2am. Had to call receptionist for security to talk to them. Also, BEWARE: there is NO FREE PARKING! It's $30/night valet, otherwise be prepared to park on streets with lots of parking restrictions meters!! Our stay ended up being way pricier than what I'm willing to pay for which was already expensive not to include valet parking!! We tried looking for parking elsewhere, but inconvenient and much farther than downtown/beach area. Only pros I like is that it's within walking distance from hotel to shopping/downtown. Long walk to the pier, but if you're adventurous, I recommend it. It's a pretty scenic walk to the pier. Front desk staff were not really friendly. Valet staff was friendly however.

We loved the hotel. It is conveniently located to the 3rd Street Promenade and the views from the hotel are gorgeous (especially from the roof-top restaurant)! The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable. Service is top-notch and the food in the restaurant is delicious. The staff is courteous and helpful and the hotel is well-maintained. We would definitely stay here again!

Staff were very friendly and efficient. Lobby was very modern, clean, and attractive; however, our room was very boring. The chair was stained and appeared dirty in general, the bathtub didn't drain, and the overall ambience was very disappointing. We did have an ocean view. Overall, not worth the amount paid.

We had been there before, so we knew the bathroom would be tiny and there would be hoards of 20-somethings in the elevators at night going to and from the nightclub. . However, we didn't expect the toilet to fail to flush. When we checked in, I asked if I could have the New York Times delivered to the room in the morning, I was told that would be done. The paper wasn't there the next morning. When I went downstairs to ask, I was told that I could go buy it in the gift shop. Not even an apology for having made a promise they were unwilling to honor. The hotel charges $9.95/day for Internet. Most of the high-end U.S. hotels I stay in have dropped Internet charges by now. In summary, this is an expensive hotel with so-so maintenance that nickel-and-dimes its guests.

Wanted a room with a nice view -- got a terrible view. Expedia said there were smoking rooms -- there were not. Walls were thing and I could hear the TV from the next room all night. However, as a result of my complaints, the hotel comped my expenses -- food, room service etc. which was very decent. So I am not unhappy, although the inability to sleedp was a problem. Staff was extremely friendly.

Wonderful modern hotel on 2nd street, 2 blocks from Ocean and 1 block from 3rd street promonade shopping/dinning. Stayed in King suite and loved it. The Roof is an extremely busy night spot on the top floor, so elevators are in short supply late Friday and Sat. Room lighting is low and romantic, if you need intense lighting, sit next to a lamp. My preferences are Fairmont, Huntley then Shutters.

The Huntley is very well situated, one block from the 3rd Street Promenade and two blocks from the beach and the Pacific Ocean. Nicely updated and clean facility. If you are used to hotel travel, you will find the Huntley's rooms to be small, the closet difficult to access, poorly thought out lighting in the bathroom and thin towels for an upscale hotel. Hotel charges for internet access but does not have wireless.

The staff were amazing. My wife and I stayed at the Huntley in early November 2014 for 3 nights. Due to a conference being on we weren't able to stay at our usual place in Santa Monica From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the Bell staff, to the welcoming smiles at Reception, the 3 days stay here was a fantastic experience. Our room was great, the Penthouse restaurant and Bar on the 17th level served great drinks with friendly service and a fantastic view of the Californian sunsets The hotel was 1 block back from the 3rd St Promenade, but set in a quiet residential area, with a short walk to most things I can't recommend this hotel highly enough and will be our 1st choice next time in Santa Monica

Lame front desk staff Inexperienced and weak service. I was given the wrong room. Got moved with little apologies. For the price I feel I could have strayed somewhere much nicer with a higher level of service. The restaurant was exceptional. This level of service is what I expected throughout. The food was top notch and the service was amazing. The location was great. But for 550 a night, the Huntley could really step up their service game.

So close to 3rd promenade. Beds were extremely comfortable. Rooms were very cosy. Not a great view. As the building is older, although fully refurbished, there is a musty smell. Walls very thin and could clearly here other rooms. But for us that wasn't a big deal. The rooms were very nice and the location was everything. Reception area lovely. Would definetly recommend the Huntley.

Great surprise for the room price and at short notice. Outstanding room, great restaurant and friendly staff. The Ocean View room provided a wonderful view, and the room was very spacious, clean and very luxurious. The location was excellent - just one block from the beach and only 5 minutes walk from the pier - and the bar on the top floor of the hotel had excellent service and amazing views.

When i arrived despite booking and paying months in advance the room I booked with a king bed was unavailable, they didn't tell me this of course, I arrived in the room and had a queen bed. I phoned down, all I was told was sorry the hotel is full. I pushed a couple times, despite being told they would look into it and get back to me, they never did so I had to follow-up. Eventually I was given a $25 food voucher. The room itself was small, felt poorly maintained with door stoppers falling off, lights not working etc. The walls were paper thin, so thin I could hear my neighbours whisper, also the ocean view was blocked by fogged up windows. One of the nights I was staying was a special event in the penthouse bar/restaurant so good luck getting through the bouncer and line-up at the elevators despite being a guest. So despite the wonderful location in beautiful Santa Monica this was an extremely disappointing stay and felt I paid far too much for a bad hotel.

欧米系の客層が多く雰囲気は好ましい。又スタッフの接客は丁寧で良いがチェックインに時間かかったのが難点。レンタカーを借りる代行もやってくれ助かった。但し駐車代が高かった

何だかわからないが一晩中変な音が時折聞こえる。価格の割りには設備はイマイチ。 スタッフの対応はよい。ロケーションもよい。部屋でゆっくり、というのには不向き。

"Tolles Hotel und super Lage!!!"

Wirklich sehr nettes Personal und ein sehr guter Zimmerservice. Das Essen des Hotels sehr lecker. Preise zwischen 15$ und 25$. Das Hotel hat einen "Gift-Shop" das auch Kaffee und Tee anbietet was günstiger ist als bei Starbucks oder im Hotel. Vom Restaurant des Hotels " The Penthouse" , was auch z.Zt. sehr Angesagt ist als Bar abends für Parties. Aus der 18. Etage hat man eine super Aussicht zum Strand von Santa Monica. Zum Strand reicht einmal die Straße überqueren. Dort sieht man morgens schon Leute joggen entlang der Promenade. Hat man genug vom Strand, kann man wunderbar auf der 3rd Street Promenade sehr gut shoppen. Auch einmal die Straße überqueren. Dort hält übrigens auch der Sightseeing Bus von Starline. Auf der 3rd Street ist für jeden Geldbeutel was dabei. Von H&M, Mango, Zara bis hin zu Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton oder die Luxus-Kaufhäuser Blumingdales und Nordstrom. Es gibt auf der Promenade auch Restaurants und Cafés. Die Gegend ist noch bis spät abends sehr belebt, so dass man keine Angst haben muss zum Hotel zu laufen. Zum Pier ist es ein Stückchen weiter, zu Fuß ca. 15 min. Also befindet sich das Hotel an einer sehr guten Lage.
