"Overall nice hotel"
Overall nice stay. I stayed in a Queen Room for 2 days. Nice change of hotel look - bright colors, refreshing feel. very courteous staff all around. Room was unfortunately near the top of the parking roof (6th floor) and they were doing powerwashing cleaning that night...like 2 in the morning. less than desirable. TV screen picture in room was partly […] damaged, remote had duct tape on the back to keep batteries in (cover lost), either mildew or dirt in the corner of the shower room. otherwise the place was very clean, nice hardwood floors. Nice little extra social area in my rom with a cough/tv. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Good for the price, but hotel lobby had an old, musty, public bathroom odor. The "beach" motif is odd for Dallas. Dust all over top of curtains. Ceiling had holes in it. Not the most comfy, but good for the price & convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You can hear through the walls"
Hotel is very clean and well kept up. However, we were woken super early by laughter and hacking coughs from the next room over. As if we were in same room as them! Not the way to wake up on vacation....Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent and affordable"
The hotel was easy to find, the staff was exceptionally welcoming, the rooms were clean, relatively spacious, the beds were comfortable and the room expense very reasonable. This is an updated older hotel but it did not feel old at all. Highly recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review

"All good except"
Like I said, everything was good, except the lobby smelled like a men's restroom at a ball park. My son and I walked in and were like what? It looked clean everywhere, it just smelled. The next morning we were walking to the elevator and I asked him, "maybe we should just eat breakfast down stairs." At which time we got to the elevators which apparently […] deliver the smell of downstairs up the ten floors. He said, "Naw, I'd rather not eat at the urinal." I agreed. "Great hotel for the price"
My husband and I spent 1 night here over the weekend. We wanted to go out in Uptown and the free shuttle the hotel provided made it very convenient. They dropped us off anywhere within a 3 mile radius for free. Our room was cute and had all of the amenities we needed. I did notice the sewage smell other reviewers commented on, but only in the lobby. […] Our room did not smell at all and we were on the 13th floor. The lobby did smell pretty bad though, I don't know how people were eating in the restaurant. Valet parking was $20 and we had to go with that because the self park lot across the street was closed for a private event. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Downtown Dallas Convenience"
This is a great hotel. It is close to most of Dallas' downtown doings. Moreover, it is close to the light rail line as well as the McKinney Avenue Trolley. No need for a car in Dallas when staying at this hotel. The decor of the hotel, i.e. lobby, hallways, room, etc. is bright and cheerful. The service that I received was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Try Hotel Indigo!"
I was traveling on business, attending a conference at the Sheraton nearby in downtown Dallas. Hotel Indigo is in an older building, but the condition of the room was wonderful. Comfortable double bed and a very spacious bathroom with everything looking very new, in working order and conveniently arranged. The room itself is small, but it had everything […] I needed for being there myself: desk, (thought the desk chair was hard and not very comfortable), plenty of power outlets for charging devices, functional wireless internet for no extra charge, a nice flat-screen TV, and an OK city view from the 10th floor. Very quiet. All of the young staff were very friendly and attentive. The decor is "bright colors" with none of the corporate glass and chrome. Some walls and ceilings had wallpaper prints simulating natural materials - kind of fun and definitely with a nice energy about the place. The neighborhood is OK - very near to a downtown campus building for one of the local colleges, so there were students on the streets and nearby during the day, but it emptied out pretty much at night. This isn't a suburban enclave, so there were some characters on the streets at times. But the lighting was good and I always felt safe. Only complaint was the $12/day parking at a garage across the street - not very convenient and seemed expensive. There was uncovered lot parking nearby for less, but that didn't seem as good for me. Great old (renovated) Hotel. Right downtown, safe to walk around at night, talk to the concierge they can give you all kinds of things to see and great places to eat. The rooms are not huge but very comfortable. Just go there and enjoy Dallas ~ what a great city!Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff was very pleasant. We parked across street for $12 a day and if you leave before 8 am you only pay $5. Had issues with card keys working which after third trip back to desk was frustrating and maintenance took a while to resolve the issue. Loved the king corner suite. Very quiet and comfortable. Very easy access to highways and uptown.Genuine Expedia guest review

My husband and I loved it. It was well decorated, clean, staff was friendly and our bed was comfortable. We will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The service, room, and cleanliness were awful. It smelled like sewage and the workers simply pretended it wasnt an issue by acting like the smell didnt exist. Decor was picked out by a 12 yr old. Never again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Surely they can see what needs to be addressed."
From first impression upon walking into the hotel lobby one might get the feeling that all will be fine. It was well maintained and clean. But arrive at the elevator and you get your first taste of lipstick on a pig. Our room was on the 3rd floor and either we arrived at an unfortunate time or housekeeping was having a convention in the hallway... until […] it happened every time we came or went to our room. We noted room service trays left for a day in the rooms adjacent to ours and the walls are paper thin - could hear everyone around us. The fisheye room photo provided by the hotel was needed because you would get a sense of just how small the rooms were otherwise if they used a regular lens. Too small and too beat up to be boutique with so much competition downtown. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny, Overrated Room"
I had booked a room with 2 beds and got one bed. I was staying with my father so I called to get another room and there were no more rooms available. So needless to say, it was awkward sharing a bed with my dad. The room was SUPER tiny. It certainly wasn't worth the money we spent. The location was great because it was within minutes of the American […] Airlines Arena. The breakfast was decent though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Indigo - Quaint, Charming, Delightful"
My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Indigo. The staff was friendly, competent, and courteous. The hotel itself was immaculate and inviting. Everything seemed freshly painted - the lobby, bar and restaurant, and our room. The historic marker stated that this was the first Hilton hotel built for Conrad Hilton in the early 1900s, although you would […] think it was recently built judging only from the interior of the building. The Indigo is centrally located in downtown Dallas making it ideal for business meetings. The food was superb. I ate the marinated ribeye steak each night we were there! The food is freshly made for each order. I would definitely stay there again and would most certainly recommend the Indigo to my friends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Historic Landmark: Hilton's First Hotel"
If you're looking for a fun hotel with a lot of personality, Hotel Indigo is for you. This was the very first hotel built by Conrad Hilton, later lost during the Great Depression. It was ok. Nothing too exciting and nothing horrible. Looks like it needs a little TLC/updating. Staff was very friendly although not always super efficient. We stayed there because of its proximity to a concert venue. Bars down in deep elum were fun and the shuttle service from the hotel was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Boutique Feel Without the Boutique Price"
Surprisingly cute and fresh decor in every part of the hotel, especially my room. Very cozy, but not cramped. Hotel Indigo will be the first place I check whenever I visit downtown Dallas.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Inspect your room, don't expect fresh air"
Positive-nice room. Negative-filthy air filter, hadn't been changed in years, obviously. Smelly stale air in the entire building with attempt to mask it with a musky sort of fragrance. This nice old hotel has sealed windows and probably an air system, if any, that is inadequate to ventilate the building. The building was designed to be naturally ventilated […] with open windows--it was the first hotel built by Conrad Hilton around 1922. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A good stay!"
I hadn't stayed a Hotel Indigo before and wanted to try it out. This was a very nice hotel with friendly staff and a great casual restaurant. Weekend breakfast hours went until noon, which was fantastic for me. Location-wise, the hotel didn't seem to be near much, but I have not been to Dallas enough to know the layout.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Funky and hip; well located"
A nice boutique hotel with great bright colors and a funky, hip appeal. The location is close to downtown with easy access to the light rail system and the meetings i needed to attend. Free breakfast is quite generous and highly recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I'm a traveling consultant, so have stayed in many hotels in many cities and had heard great things about Hotel Indigos in other locations. This location did NOT live up to the standards. When I checked in, the hotel lobby smelled HORRIBLE. Kind of moldy, B/O type smells. My room also smelled. In my room, there were Vitamin Water bottles from the previous […] tenant still in the room (had been opened) and trash in the trash can. The bathroom counter had not been wiped clean. During my stay, the cleaning was not done thoroughly. I would come back to my room to a half-cleaned bathroom, missing towels, and trash still in my trash cans. Very disappointed. My air conditioner also stopped working in the middle of the night one night. The location was great though for my work that week. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would not recommend"
Upon arriving, the first thing I noticed was a very unpleasant odor in the lobby. I mentioned it to the front desk person. They said it was coming from work being done outside. That was not the case as the odor was there all weekend, and no work being done outside. I asked for a quiet room. Well, it could not have been any louder. After only 2 hours […] I was moved onto another floor. This floor was quiet. And the room a bit nicer than the first. So I thought smooth sailing from here on out. Well, although the room/floor was quiet, housekeeping sucked. On my second day I realized that house keeping did not empty waste baskets. I thought, no big deal. I noticed my bathroom floor had not been cleaned. I thought... no big deal... but upon going to bed I noticed they did not change the sheets. A small coffee stain from the previous morning was still there. I was outraged. The staff was very friendly however. I would not stay there again. Rob Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff was very helpful, however the place was dirty and had a strange smell in the lobby and dining area. When I was in the room and took my shoes off and walked across the floor the bottom of my socks turned black. Needless to say I don't think there has been a mop used in the room in some time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice area in downtown Dallas"
My overall stay was nice. I would say excellent except I was expecting a little more in the room for the price I paid. The doorman (Franklin) was really nice and very helpful in taking us where we needed to go in the area. The doorman during the night was a bit rude to my guest because she didn't have change to pay him. He was not helpful in helping […] her resolve the issue. The ladies at the front desk were all really nice and accommodating! I would recommend this hotel, however I would advise the guest to look at a room before booking so they won't be in for a rude awakening like I was. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"w/in walking distance of restaurants/arts district"
Clean, comfortable, uniquely decorated room. Liked that instead of carpeting our room had wood floor. "Older hotel..friendly staff"
The staff was very helpful and friendly but we couldn't check in until after 6 PM which was a hassle. We tried at 3 our room wasn't ready. Tried again at 5:30 and it still wasn't ready. We didn't get back until after 10 PM so not sure what time it was actually ready. We had a king suite which was very nice. The hotel is old and the lobby smells old. "um not what we were expecting"
paying 150 for one night we thought we were going to be able to have room to walk in our room. our room was extremely crowded and a lot of the time we had to walk sideways to do anything. If you are just sleeping it is fine but if you want to spend quality time in the room make sure and get another hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't do it."
When we arrived the first thing someone would notice is a very gruesome smell. It smelled as if sewage had leaked all across the lobby. Check-in time was supposed to be at 3pm, yet no one was able to go into their rooms until 5pm. They basically told us that they would let us know when our rooms would be ready and it would only take fifteen minutes. […] A friend and I had booked our rooms at the same time and requested to have them nearby each other. We were assured this had been taken care of. When we arrived we were told that not only were our rooms not next to each other but they were four floors apart. The elevator buttons do not light up so you have to pray that it will actually stop on your floor. There isn't an ice machine on the tenth floor so you first we went to the eleventh only to find that one didn't work and then finally down to the ninth to get ice. The hotel seemed very understaffed. Old room service trays were left in the halfway for hours and we found ourselves dodging those at times. We called the front desk to request taxi can service and they said we would have to come downstairs and one would arrive every five minutes. After getting everyone together and heading downstairs, the same lady who answered the phone told us it would be a 20 minute wait and that our destination was most likely out of the 3 mile radius. This was probably the worst hotel stay I had ever had before, it's a wonder this place is still in business. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for in-town access"
My room wasn't ready until close to 5pm which proved to be a bit of an inconvienience. The hotel was active, lively and seemed to be full. The walls are thin and you can hear -everything- that goes on in your neighbors' rooms. THe decor was light and bright. Someone had left me a few pretzels sprinkled about my night stand, I need to find out who to […] thank for this. The bathroom was bright, but did not feel especially clean.
