My room was very spacious but the bathroom was left partially painted and with paint strokes on the ceiling and walls. There was left over trays in the halls from breakfast and when I placed my room service order for dinner told them about it as the halls smelled bad. My wife and I live on the North Coast and travel to Santa Rosa about once a month for for medical/dental stuff and shopping (Trader Joe's), and WalMart. Hilton Sonoma Wine Country is North Santa Rosa, and very conveniently located for our purposes. I was at the hotel on business and had never stayed at this Hilton before. The grounds are beautiful, clean and well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The hotel itself seems outdated and in need of some repairs, my room wasn't filthy but it wasn't really clean either (found lots of stray hairs - yuck). The hotel is also very pet friendly, […] which is fine but would be nice if they had rooms that were kept apart for guests that don't have pets with them. The room next to mine had dogs that were whining and barking, probably left alone and another dog down the hall that was barking and sounded unattended. The food wasn't great but it was convenient and a tad overpriced for the quality. I think the hotel could be great or was great at one time, definitely needs a facelift and some culinary help though! "Pleasant in wine country"
This was a nice overnight for us on the way to Clear Lake. Great welcome, and assistance with finding movie theatres. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, but not until the next morning. Only glitch for us was not getting the call back/message on when the jacuzzi service would be completed. The clamp that held the shower head in the room was disfunctional, […] but that's a minor inconvenience. Overall, very much enjoyed the stay, and would stay again, and reccomend to friends. Our room overlooked the pool, and that was nice. Also liked that the hotel was away from the freeway just enough to avoid the view and noise, but close enough for quick access. This stay was quiet/tranquill and relaxing, only distraction was the noise from the hotel service carts wheels being dragged behind the electric carts pulling them.
