We booked this hotel last-minute due to a change of plans so we weren't 100% sure what we were going to get. We were pleasantly surprised by the location and the quality of the hotel. The room was a bit musty, and its showing its age. The property is a bit worn around the edges. The room interiors are trying to look fresh but it is obvious the structure under it all is old. Especially in the bathroom. Conrad Hilton is rolling over in his grave My sweet-heart and I had been at a fundraiser at Lagunas Brewing Company in Petaluma. My wish was to make the whole night romantic for me and my boyfriend. So I booked a room for the night. But that bubble got popped fast. It started in the lobby when the front desk clerk was giving some well-dressed Baby Boomer […] ahead of me a hard time for just coming in and seeing if there were any vacant rooms on a rainy night. I get to the counter and tell him my last name which is Connor; but I had forgotten that I put the name as Kilmer-Connor (Kilmer is my maiden name). Now the desk clerk is now giving me a hard time saying, “We Have No Connor. We have No Connor.” So I said nicely sorry I might have put it under Kilmer-Connor. I finally get the keys and drive to our room in the rain. We get in the room it has no mini refrigerator. The trash cans were so small that you could not us them for an ice bucket (my friend did it at the Four Season Chicago) or even using it as a trash can. The room is non-smoking with three fire sprinkler heads in the room two in the main part and one in the bath room. All fire sprinkler have stickers that read don’t hang clothes hangers on. Really? The major problem of night was the a/c it had two modes rushing cold air and blasting heat only. First we requested adjoining rooms since we were traveling with children, the desk clerk told us she was giving us adjoining rooms, but when we got to the rooms, the were across and down the hall. Enjoyed the check in, the room, the parking and dinner at Nectar restaurant BUT our breakfast experience left a lot to be desired. Here we are sitting in a charming room with a dynamic view of the hills to be greeted by a grumpy desk person who tried to steer us away from a window/view table. Then we had to ask for water and then twice had to ask for […] a menu and there were no other patrons in the restaurant - it was about 9.30. We ordered oatmeal and when it arrived asked "Yona" our server for some maple syrup - her reply in a really offensive tone was "WELL you didn't ask for any!". Stayed at this hotel exactly one year ago. We like the hotel for its great location. Easy access to variety of Santa Rosa restaurants and easy access to the highways to wine country. Hotel room was clean and pleasing but nothing special. However, all of the hallways, foyers and access points reeked of the smell of cleaning solutions. Honestly, most […] hospitals smell less antiseptic! Spent 3 nights and the smell did not dissipate. Also the carpeting throughout our building was faded and worn. I do not recall the facility looking as tired when we visited last year. On the plus side they have just upgraded their internet service and now provide free basic wifi access to all. I called ahead to ask if they had a non-pets room, as I am highly allergic to pets. I was told yes, and that I will be accommodated. The room was nice, bedding and towels were clean, nevertheless, the carpet in room was very dirty, and fool of pet hairs. It looked as the rooms never get vacuumed. "Not worth the price, even at a discount"
We came here for a ladies' college reunion. Generally, the price is just way too high (even with the hotels.com discount) for what you get. The hotel overlooks a highway, and isn't really in walking distance of any wineries, which is a huge bummer. Additionally, it is just a HUGE hotel, and seems to be a place that hosts a lot of weddings. There happened […] to be a wedding happening the weekend we were there, and there were just tons and tons of people sitting around the hot tub all weekend long, sloppily leaving their booze around. And no one from the hotel staff was there to tell them to clean up after themselves. Also, when we had questions for the hotel staff about winery suggestions, etc., they didn't really seem to know a lot. They even gave us tickets for a 2-for-1 wine/cheese tasting, but when we got to the winery they told us they had needed 24 hour notice for the cheese. Nice landscape view with beautiful buildings and ample parking. Room was clean and fresh. I loved the pool area and the jacuzzi, but the pool is not heated so we stayed most of the time in the jacuzzi.
