Albert at Bay Suites is a great place to stay! Very happy with the friendly staff and clean rooms. The Bath & Body Works toiletries were a nice touch! Parking was a bit of an issue as we had to park at the Delta since there was no underground parking available on site. We just did this for one night but it did set us back $20 and was a bit of an inconvience. Overall it was a perfect place to stay with the nice sized rooms and full kitchen that was handy since I was there for the Ottawa Marathon.

My friend, daughter and I went for a girls' weekend the week before my daughter got married. We didn't arrive until 11:00 p.m. The people at the counter were humourous as well as very helpful. Upon getting into the room, we realized we needed another set of towels and a frying pan as we had planned on cooking breakfast in the suite. Within 10 minutes of our request, they were at the door. The hotel is very centrally located in downtown Ottawa and within walking distance of many of the major attractions. The beds were comfortable and the suite well equippped. I would recommend this highly to anyone who is looking for modern, clean room and wants to be able to prepare some meals. They also have a cafe and restaurant for those who prefer eating out.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 29, 2009
When I got to my room, I thought there was something wrong because there was no bed. But that was because one enters into the Living Room, and the bedroom is off to the right. There's a study off to the left, a full kitchen, and 2 -- yes two! -- bathrooms. I could house my whole family here -- but it cost the same as a normal room! I asked the hotel clerk, "Do I have a normal room, or is it some special suite?" He said all the rooms were suites like mine. I followed up, "Did I get a normal price, or did I get a special deal because I booked just this morning on hotels.com?" He said, "You paid just a little less than the normal price." This is definitely the best deal for the money I've ever had in a hotel!

I've stayed at this hotel before in a 2 bedroom suite. This time, I had a 1 bedroom suite and was on a different side of the hotel. The noise level from the traffic was LOUD. I asked to be moved from a lower floor to the highest floor and still found the traffic noise ridiculously loud. Non-rush hour or the week-end would not experience that level of noise. The parking garage is under construction and you have long waits until the light turns green and you can proceed in or out of the garage. Most days my card key did not work in my room and I had to return to the front desk to get a replacement. Next time, I'm going to find a quieter location. The hotel is nice, staff are very helpful and the room is more than adequate. If you don't mind the above quirks, you'll enjoy your stay.

With the exception of a need for some brighter lighting in each of the rooms of the suite, this hotel is a great find. It is inexpensive, yet manages to provide an expansive room, flawless Internet (wi-fi) for free, excellent front desk service that willingly accommodates traveler's requests and needs, possesses well organized bathroom and comfortable bed, is quiet and is a comfortable walk to most business locations on Elgin Street (about 10 minutes on foot). It gets all the basics right and more. What more could you ask for in a hotel for a business traveler.
