We love this hotel. The location is fantastic kind of reminding more of an Aman hotel in how well it is integrated into the history of Sultanahmet. The restaurant in the hotel is a nice glass covered building in the center of the courtyard and it makes for an excellent place to enjoy breakfast. The staff is amazing as well

Wonderful hotel right in the middle of Sultanahmet. The blue mosque and hagia sophia are within 5 min walking distance - if that. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is extremely cheery and helpful. The Sultanahmet is located within easy walking distance of the main attraction of the old historical […] center of old Istanbul but is on a somewhat secluded side street so you feel away from the crowds but close enough to easily enjoy sites like the Blue Mosque or the Hagia Sophia. The grounds are peaceful and beautifully kept, a wonderful oasis from the fast paced area close by. It fully deserves it's very high ratings and is certainly worth every penny. We were a bit nervous going to Istanbul in the winter, but the weather was perfect, sunny and in the 50's. There were no crowds and the people of Istanbul couldn't have been nicer and more gracious. This is truly one of the world's great cities. The history, culture and architecture are spectacular.

This hotel is in the perfect location if you want to spend leisure time in Istanbul. While a bit far from the business areas, it is a few minutes walk from the major sights (Aya Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Cistern, the Grand Bazaar, many museums). The area also includes hundreds of restaurants and stores and is on high grounds with many pedestrian […] alleys, which means pure air. It is great for strolls and walks and very scenic. In addition, other major touristic areas such as the Galata tower, the Bosphorus, the Dohlmabace Palace, Taksim square and Beoglu are very easily accessible by the very efficient tramway nearby. While the place was a prison in 1920, it was probably the grounds of the palaces of Emperor Justinian and other dignitaries in the ancient city of Constantinople. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful and the services are top notch. We had some maintenance related noise in the room, but only during the day as the hotel was probably doing minor renovation work. From early evening to late morning, the room was extremely quiet. Istanbul Sultanahmet was received with high expectations as the website indicates, and it did not disappoint. Start with the negatives as there are very few. No free wifi in your room so you have to go to business centre and on the first night i stayed computers in business centre not working,an extortionate 20 euros a day is charged should you wish […] to pay for internet in your room.Turn down service was not done on the first evening and the yummy turkish delight sweets were only given on 1 of the 5 nights i stayed. Lastly complimentary water was not provided on 1 of the nights Now with the positives. The entrance is hidden as it is in the heart of the sultanahmet but still stands out against the surronding buildings. Location is fantastic, walking distance, to all the main sites. Service was first class, very attentive and personal, accommodating your every need. Rooms were spacious with dvd player and ipod doc. Fresh fruit was provided in the room daily, the beds were very comfortable.L'Occitane products. Fitness room is small but ideal for the total of 65 rooms the hotel provides and never gets too busy. Sauna in the changing rooms with robes, slippers, and all the products provided in the changing room (shower in here is great) so you needn't bring a thing. Breakfast is delicious you can order a la carte and it is included in the price of £30pp! There are lots of cafes locally to have breakfast at 1/3 of the price. Il giardino interno è a dir poco meraviglioso, assopito in un prezioso silenzio, tutto per il confort degli ospiti. Il personale è molto accogliente, gentile e competente. Il ristorante dell’albergo è squisito. Il maître, gli chef e tutto il personale sono a dir poco eccezionali. Il cibo è molto buono, ricercato, raffinato e sempre ben presentato. Come già detto, a pochi minuti dall’albergo avete la possibilità di visitare una moltitudine di stupendi siti nell’interessantissima Istanbul e a qualche centinaia di metri vi è la partenza dei bus “double-deck” che, per pochi euro, vi faranno visitare sia il centro della città che l’esterno. Da non perdere il giro “grande” (2 ore) che, passando sul ponte sul Bosforo, vi porterà in Asia.
