We booked this hotel because of its location, the size of the hotel and the quality promised on Hotels.com and it was all true. We upgraded to a suite on the 22nd floor, for a very small cost and we had a wonderful overnight and night on the town. Remember to visit the bar on the 29th floor. Great views of the city any time of the year.

We took advantage of a 50% off sale and had a great stay. I'd highly recommend the Affinia--very comfortable rooms, sleek, modern design and a great location. The only disadvantage is the price of parking, although there is a garage just down the street which is a bit cheaper.

As noted above the hotel was otstanding in services, location, friendliness, cleanliness, decoration, room size. Everything was absolutely oerfect except for one tiny detail. After staying there for 7 days the last night while waiting for friends at the lobby I approached the front desk and asked about the possibility about making a local phone call from the desk, the people attending the front desk where rude which I found surprising. They told me that all phone calls where to be made from the bedrooms, regardless of any policies the hotel may have what startled me was how unfriendly the staff acted. Besides that everything in the hotel was perfect.

The rooftop bar has a great view, an awesome bartender, and very tasty martinis to match! Our room was very clean and comfortable. The decor is very modern looking and up to date. The only thing to note is to not make local telephone calls from the room as you will be charged. Other than that I recommend this hotel to any and everyone and I will definitely be back!

The Affinia was really an outstanding place to stay in Chicago. Being less than a block to the Magnificent Mile and only a few blocks to the Lake was terrific. The room was well appointed, and a very nice layout and size for the price. Some of the extras available (six kinds of pillows!) were a nice touch. My only hope is that they can do something to lessen the blow of the parking fee--at $48 per day, it felt a little steep, even by NYC standards. Otherwise, a very enjoyable stay. I'd definitely plen on staying at the Affinia on my next trip to Chicago.

Christopher the Consierge was absolutely brilliant! The Hotel was really nice, although the air conditioning was really noisy sometimes. The Hotel did however change my booking from two double beds to a queen and a large sofa bed. Although the room was more than adequate I was a bit put out as I had specifically booked two double beds! The front of house were not very helpful in this matter, but did offer us a free breakfast. Overall a lovely hotel, well situated to all the great shops, bars and restaraunts etc. Again a big thank you to Christopher who made are stay more enjoyable by his recommendations!

I have recommended this hotel to everyone since returning from my stay in Chicago. Convenient location, wonderful, clean room. Fabulous staff. Just as nice as any "big corporate" hotel, with a better price and great service, and smaller....less hustle and bustle. Quiet, quaint, but still chic and modern. Stay here.....you won't be disappointed. Only caveat (and it's a small one....) the elevators are slow. So be patient, or better yet, take the stairs and walk off that deep dish pizza! I will head straight to the Affinia on all subsequent stays in Chicago.

My husband and I stayed at the Affinia 7/16 - 7/18. The hotel's location is close to the Magnificent Mile and John Hancock Tower, which was very convienent for us since this was our first trip to Chicago. The lobby and room had a hip and contemporary feel and the beds and pillows were quite comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I only have one complaint about the hotel that I would like to report. The hotel has 29 floors and only two very small elevators that go to rooms 8 - 29. Keep in mind the 29th floor is a rooftop bar which gets pretty busy in the evening that is open to the public. The cleaning staff also uses the same elevators which adds more time to wait for an elevator. Overall our experience at the Affinia was a pleasant stay in a happening location.

However during our stay we found some of the reception staff quite unfriendly and the lifts to the higher floors (8th to 29th) were "experiencing long wait times". We were there for four nights and no visible engineering effort had been made to repair this. Numerous times we took 17 floors of steps or ended using the service elevator.
