"Luxuriant hotel in a convenient location"
Friendly staff, nice room, good location, and a beautiful lobby. We had a wonderful stay.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice downtown hotel.."
We have stayed here over the years several times. The service is exceptional, as is the lobby and other facilities. Our room was not as nice this time. It was clean, but I noticed things like light bulbs out, cobwebs, and the chairs in the room looked like they use a good steam cleanining. I will still be back, and recommend anyone in Dallas to stay […] here. The one hundred year old lobby is amazing, as are the restaurants and bar. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Enjoy the ambiance of this great hotel."
Built in 1912 the Adolphus has been restored and is a great experience for anyone that enjoys experiencing old time elegance. Be sure not to miss the three course afternoon tea.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice romantic getaway"
The only thing I noticed about my stay was that housekeeping didn't pay close attention to detail. A snikers wrapper was poking out from below the bedside table. I had a heightened sense for this sort of thing based on some of the reviews I saw online. I was very pleased with my stay and will go again if the need arises. I wish they would include the […] valet services in the price. I didn't use them for my stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I absolutely enjoyed the service and the ambiance at the Adolphus. The classic rustic feel almost reminds you of being in the beautiful castle in the Shining (yes, I think there are ghost there as well). The service was impeccable the staff remembered both me and my best friends name and when I was in dire need of a spa treatment and could not book […] the appointment on my own the concierge was more than able to fit me into the schedule no matter what. They treat their guests like family and I would definitely go back....However, there is a downside..PRICES FOR PARKING ARE RIDICULOUS. So bring an extra $100-$200 dollars if you are planning to stay 2 days and 2 nights which we did. CRAZY, RIGHT? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Really enjoyed the classy hotel. There was a few load noises outside the first night. Wish the bathroom sink area was bigger.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice, but some real misses"
Room was nice but had some issues. There was some unknown (nasty) substance in the middle of the floor that was taken care of on after I requested it to be cleaned. Should have been cleaned before I ever got there though. In the morning after first night while still laying in bed, discovered some horrific stains on the comforter under which I was sleeping. […] They weren't just stains, it was dirty, and disgusting. It was replaced after notifying the front desk. There was no safe in the room, there was no bottled water or mini bar. There wasnt a towel or rug for the floor outside the shower, (there was one left on day 2 though). Air conditioning was barely adequate but did work. Television services menu did not work and they charged me $55 for something unknown plus tax of around $12 that they couldnt explain either, but they did promptly remove it when I questioned it Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I stayed at the Adolphus nearly 15 years ago, not much has changed. The customer service is above average but the ambience seems more obsolete than classic. The food and bar prices are unnecessarily inflated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old and Not Managed or Maintained"
The hotel was unique but old and there was no sign that it was managed. The valet was required parking and they never answered the phone. We would have to go downstairs to get our car then wait another 10-20 minutes. Our water was scalding it in the room and was never fixed when requested. The AC was also barely working in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Will stay again! Walking distance to cvs, restraunts and more! Perfect place to stay when going to a concert at American airline center!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is amazing! Very beautiful and the service is excellent. . Im not too familiar with Dallas but the workers were very helpful with directions. The rooms are very clean and well prepared. Pillows are extremely soft. I absolutely loved my hotel stay at the Adolphus I highly recommend this luxurious hotel to anybody looking for a great hotel […] in Downtown Dallas. "Grande dame gone to seed"
Historic hotel a disappointment. Five star rating is a couple too many. Expected luxury and attentiveness. Found little to recommend. The hotel public spaces are rich and beautiful, but that's where it ends. Upon arrival, the bar was nearly empty, so the bartender told us to take a table anywhere, which he then ignored until I returned to ask for a […] drink and menu. The drinks were excellent. After unpacking, I called the valet extension to have our car brought up for a dinner reservation elsewhere. It took three calls before we made it past the voice mail to request our car be brought out. When we arrived in the lobby 15 minutes later, our car was not there. Upon presenting my valet ticket, someone was finally dispatched to get our car. After dinner, we returned to the room to clean up and retire. The bath linens were clean, but minimally sized and not particularly absorbent. Upon looking for a robe, we found that no robes or slippers were included (5 star?). The bed was comfortable, but not plush. When my wife arose in the morning, she went to the coffee-maker to brew a morning cup only to find it had a sludge in the bottom of the dispenser that leaked onto the counter when water was added. Time to look outside for a paper. Surprise! None exists. Well, we checked out early to find a brunch elsewhere, which we did after the requisite 15-minute wait for our car. Needless to say, this was our first and last time to stay at the Adolphus. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quick Trip to Texas"
Flew from Atlanta to DFW, when we stopped trusting Ms. Garmin, we got to the Adolphus just fine. We were in Texas for my mom's 90th birthday. Had a great meal at an adjacent venue, then off to mom's the next morning. When we returned, the staff treated us as old friends. At time to leave, the instructions to DFW were exact from the Bell Captain. The […] car was "lost", so it took a while to retrieve. The Bell Capitan saw me twice more, remembered me, and gave me the instructions again! Twice, right out of the garage, two blocks to a left on Elm, then right on 183! A great stay in a beautiful hotel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A fantastic value for a five-star hotel"
I can't believe the fantastic hotel I got at such a great price. The Adolphus is a beautiful, historic hotel in the middle of Dallas. The staff provided 5 star hotel service every step of the way. When I was leaving, one of the hotel drivers even gave me a route out of town to help me avoid the downtown traffic. Everything from arrival to leaving was […] first rate. "Very pleasant and wonderful stay at the Adolphus."
The staff was accommodating and polite. We had no issues with rude or snippy staff throughout our three night stay. The valet team was courteous, welcoming, and quick. This is a great hotel and we will definitely be coming back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Exceptionally Wonderful for the Price!"
We were excited we found something to fit our budget and that was so close to Baylor Medical. It would have been 5/5, but we found a bobby pin right smack dab by the night stand where you walk and because I guess since being built in 1912 the plumbing isn't all that grand anymore, but we never had any cold water so it was a shocker when we brushed our […] teeth. With a 7/11 right next door and room concierge, it was well worth the stay. So many beautiful things to see. Just wished all the rooms had been accessible to take more pictures. My sister and I stayed for a weekend get-a-way. The hotel was great, in neat location and walking distance to lots of places. Try the Pescado del Sol at the Blue Cactus. It was awesome and the margaritas were great. Ellens was very good, but the ghost tour guide was talking way too fast and would not wait for the entire group to arrive to start. "First time in Dallas"
When I arrived at the Adolphus I immediately asked for the best room on a higher floor and was accommodated with the 18th floor with 2 views from my bedroom. The breakfast is pricey unless you don’t mind paying a little extra. The beds are very comfortable. The curtains needed to be mended in my bedroom but it’s an old hotel. The hotel offers extra […] amenities and lives up to its reputation. The staff was friendly; however I requested an important wake up call and never got the call. I stayed at the Adolphus for 5 days and all and all enjoyed the comfort and grandeur of the hotel and would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Value - and Charm"
I have to question any negative reviews of this hotel. The staff was exceptional, The room was HUGE - I mean really large and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The workout facility was adequate, but the equipment was all new and well maintained. One odd thing is that they have no ice machines, you have to ring room service. "Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Dallas"
From the valet service to the check out service, everything was AMAZING! Everyone was very friendly and courteous. "Very nice/elegant and great deal for the price."
We got a great deal on this hotel on Expedia and were very pleased with the conditions of the hotel for the price. The only thing that off set the price was the price of valet pricing that is required. That's how they get you! It's $28.00 per night for the valet parking. Overall, the hotel was a great experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. I would advise it for couples or older children... It is not really small child friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"lovely downtown dallas hotel"
The staff was excellent. Paul took great care of us with our bags.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is historic old, but still very nice. The staff was very good. Parking is not so good just because it is hard to find at first and only valet parking is available.Genuine Expedia guest review
Extremely disappointed in this "famous" hotel. Our room was in need of a real good cleaning. Vanity in the bathroom extremely dirty. Bathroom overall needed updating and a deep cleaning. Carpet in room needed cleaning. Window seals looked to have been wet and rotting. Room had an unpleasant odor. We had paid for two nights but checked out after the […] first night. Will not go back. "Convenient, old-world charm"
The hotel was upscale and lively at the same time. Although certain minor details reminded me of how old the hotel is, (ie: carpets in hall were a tad threadbare, no pool) the staff was impeccable. Anabel the doorman was great, as was Conrad, the driver of the towncar (made available for in town trips for free). The cleaning staff could be a little […] more attentive (I was given a minibar key to an unstocked minibar and there were empty bottles and wrappers under the armoire that I only happened to notice when doing my morning push-ups!) and the air conditioning could have been more robust considering he heavy duvet that didn't offer removable layers. But overall, I'll be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was very upset to find out that there was not a parking lot for guests and had to valet park our car and were charged $28.00 to do so. Needs to be in bold somewhere that this is the case so people are aware before bookingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay w/o Valet."
Hotel was great, only downside is parking. $30/day valet service.Genuine Expedia guest review
We thought we were going to a hotel with class, not so much. For the price we paid we should of had clean linens with no stains in them. Towels should of been cleaned with bleach because we could still see eye makeup on all of our towels in our room from previous guest. Light fixtures on wall in bathroom were burnt and looked old. There was no trash […] can in the bathroom. We stayed on the 12 floor and the carpet was in need of repairs and you could see where they attempted to paint touch ups with the wrong color. Very tacky. Valet service was nice but took 25 minutes to get our car and they charge $28 per night for your car being there. Service at bar in lobby was sub par as well. Lady at front desk when we arrived was not in a good mood and never smiled or had any interest in our stay there. We would not recommend this hotel because there are other hotels in Dallas that would serve a better service for the money. Also this hotel is on Commerce St which is next to bus stop and homeless are everywhere in that area. We saw a homeless person being arrested outside hotel at 8:00am. Beautiful hotel with great location and views but staff did not hold the standard for a luxury hotel. It was not bad service by any means just not what I expected.Genuine Expedia guest review
We only stayed for one night and found this hotel to be beautiful, friendly, well situated and comfortable. Our room was great with comfy bed, everything working correctly and a shower that is unbelievable. the only thing we would have wanted was a mini fridge and a better coffee set up. All in all we would go back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Classic hotel"
It's a Nice classic landmark hotel in Dallas with interior upgrade so it feels nice, clean, and cozy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is high ceiling so its nice and comfortable inside. I got the hotel from expedia using the special they had and the room was very spacious and the shower was amazing. The bathroom toilet and tub were outdated, but the shower made up for that.
