The hotel is in a great locaion and the room was very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint is that the air conditioning did not work well. We were there in April and I would not like to stay there in the heat of the summer.

We wanted to save some money by staying at this hotel, the rate of $99 was VERY misleading. First the rate was not correct online it was actually $125/night... still less than the $175 our friends were paying for Marriot (with valet) We expected it to be a little less than perfect and justified it by thinking that we wouldn't be in the room a lot anyways. […] The problem with this was what it doesn't state on the hotel ad on hotels.com. Because Chateau Dupre does not have parking you have to pay to park at the public parking which is almost 1 mile away. thats not the bad part. The bad part is that public parking was $65 a night! if we would have known we would have gone somewhere that didn't smell and remind me of a dorm room and paid the same amount. Read more

Unfortunately the hotel is very run down. I fixed my own bed because it was sagging in the middle. The people r very sweet and accommodating. You can only do so much w what you've got. Great location though.

On the plus side, great downtown location that was walking distance to the river, all the great restaurants and entertainment venues. Most importantly for me, only a 10-15 minute walk to the convention center. Room was clean and the free wifi was excellent. This hotel left such a poor impression on New Orleans that I have very little desire to return. The first room was dirty the handle came off the toilet in my hand when I flushed it, I woke to running water at 3:30 am and the floor in the bathroom had approx 3/4" of water. I called the front desk they told me maintenance would check it at 7am . I can't […] believe this place is not shut down by the health department especially after I saw the largest cockroach I have ever seen...the size of a hamster walk behind the front desk which happened when I was returning from the gym at the mall near by. everyday for 4 mornings we were awake between 5 and 5:30 am from the garbage service, on the ride to the airport we shared a cab with 2 other separate guests of the hotel that had their own horror stories, one couple said when they checked in they had a double and one bed was sopping wet with bleach and they were not moved until the next day, this Hotel should be renamed Chateau HOSTEL DUPED!!! There was hair in our bed, the carpets were filthy (so much so we wouldn't take our socks off) so when we called the front desk they switched our room. This second room had the phone ripped out of the wall and toilet paper where a seeing hole in the front door should be. The whole 3rd floor smelled like illegal drugs, and the other floor we were moved […] to had a random guy slamming and punching hall doors all night (which initially sounded like gunshots) while shouting profanities so I had to call from my cell phone to notify the front desk. They don't have any on site security, so it took a while to get him to be quiet or leave. At this point we were already more than uncomfortable, and the beds didn't help (you could feel every spring). I was more than embarrassed to have stayed there with my mother, and wouldn't even choose to stay solo again. The only good thing about this hotel is the friendliness of the front desk lady, other than that I felt like the situation could have turned into a horror movie at any given point. Id rather sleep in my car in a parking lot when its freezing outside than go back to this hotel, at least I know who else has shared the seats. Read more

Terrible, especially for the price of $183.00 a night. No parking, public lots were $100.00 for 24hrs during Mardis Gras. We had to beg for housekeeping and when they did show up we were alloted two towels only. The bed was never made, sheets never changed and wastebaskets never dumped. When we first arrived for our 4 day stay we had to beg for pillow […] cases, we finally got them at 7:30 PM. We never saw nor heard a vacuum cleaner in our 4 day stay. Location was great, but the lower price was definitely understood. My hotel room had no peekhole and also wasn't listed on any hallway signage, which seemed unsafe and strange to me. Walls were thin and maintenance was needed in common areas. Unlike what the web site said, there was no internet at all, even for a fee. I dropped the remote under the […] bed and found lots of trash. There was no real place to store luggage -- I was told that I could put my bag in the corner, but no one will be watching it and no one will be liable for it. The lobby restroom was attached to the restaurant next door, and it was pretty bad. I went to the front desk around 9pm, and the receptionist was putting toothpaste on her toothbrush and looked bothered that I had a question. Sorry, but more like Chateau Depraved! Read more

Just very inconvenient and they were unable to accommodate us when our room was filled with smoke from the restaurant downstairs. The place has potential it just needs to be remodeled soon! The only thing we did enjoy is how close it was to Bourbon Street.

This is an old hotel whose upkeep is questionable. The carpets are threadbare, although they appeared clean. The same cannot be said about the elevator floor which was quite dirty, particularly in the corners at floor level, The room was noisy (2nd floor facing the street), only blinds in the window allowing outside lighting to flood the room all night. […] Whereas the room was fairly comfortable, my toilet bowl had a crack (or a big black patch) at the bottom (underwater), my lavatory sink did not have a stopper and the floors around the tub needed some bleach. The managemnt told me that they couldn't provide a king sized bed per my reservation, because maintenance was ongoing on the 4th floor! It's an old hotel and not well maintained. It's in a perfect location,only three blocks from Bourbon Street for the night life. For shopping and restaurants you are right on Decatuer Street. Convenient location for the price since most hotels nearby were very expensive. Not a super fancy hotel but it was nice and what I expected. Rooms had a vintage decor with windows that looked down on the street below. Clean and nice service at the front desk - I was even able to check into my room a couple hours early.

I recently stayed at the hotel Chateau Dupre Hotel which I booked through your site. The hotel was definitely not what you advertised. It was filthy, the mattress was stained, the carpet had stains, and I did not feel comfortable staying in that room. I checked out after only one night and went to another hotel.

I've stayed in a million different hotels in New Orelans, I go there all the time. This hotel is what it is. If you want luxury and super comfortable bedding, go w/ Marriott or Hilton or Sheraton. But if you want just a room to crash in that is RIGHT in the Quarter, you've found it. A single chair in the corner and no desk or other place to set up your laptop. Wifi access was $5 per day and at these lodging prices shouldn't internet access be included?? The staff was absolutely wonderful. The elevator is unreliable so if you cannot handle taking the stairs, this hotel is not for you. The beds were nothing special but the AC exceeded expectations.
