The hotel is under construction. When I called to verify my reservation the desk clerk did not make a metion that all of the typical Courtyard ammenities were not available. No Gym, no lobby area, no breakfast area (other than a renovated non windowed room on the 3rd floor with a makeshift set up). Hotel is probably close to "stellar" the rest of the year, but this week #between Christmas and New Year's 2012# they had construction going on throughout the 2nd floor. Our room was on the 3rd floor and every morning at 9am the hammering, etc. started up. Unfortunately, the cleaning staff woke us up before that with their yelling. there were two parties booked for the hotel on Saturday. This resulted in too much hallway talk and noise late into the night (midnight till 2ish). the second night was quiet.

The hotel was clean, updated and perfect for a one night getaway. Breakfast buffet the next morning in the Courtyard Cafe was excellent with a nice variety and great service. The only downside was our king-bed room was small, so not alot of "elbow room", but for 2 people, it wasn't a big deal. We were only there for an overnight so we did not have the "total" experience. The bed was comfortable, the room clean. In room coffee was awful. Coffee service in lobby was acceptable. We will stay here again when we are in the area.

The Good: Close to Salem for Halloween festivities. The Bad: Was over priced for size of the room, but probably had to do with the time of year. Sleep disturbed twice by guests returning to their rooms. Wall are paper thin.

The Courtyard was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Outside of Salem by ten minutes or so. The rooms were decent. The staff was top notch. Very helpful and very accommodating. The buffet was a little expensive and you have to get there early or your food will not be fresh. Overall good experience. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel was fine, clean, etc., but I was disappointed that there were no on-demand movies or TV guide channel that I could find, and the room fan was underpowered. The room itself was very crowded, with only two thin blankets for a king bed. Also, despite having two signs in the bathroom asking us to conserve water and protect the environment, the hotel […] ran the sprinklers at night (after three rainy days at the end of September), and most of them hit the parking lot as much as they did the grass. Everyone was helpful regardless what we needed or what time of day/night it was. I screwed up their waffle machine because I did not use the non stick spray. They fixed the machine at once & cooked the waffle for me.

The hotel itself is fine as was the service. However, the maid staff was extremely noisy in the halls and all the doors slamming closed 24/7 was awful. I know you cannot control the behavior of other guests but they were terribly inconsiderate by talking loudly in the hallways at all hours. I could not sleep.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. And after a long, wintry drive up there, a cup of complementary hot apple cider was just the thing to make us feel warm and welcomed! Nice, clean, close to alot of anemities, but the advertising incorrect. had the impression there was "more" of a restaurant/lounge. Hours very limited. Also saw coffee 24 hrs, but couldn't find that. And most definetly overpriced!

Nice hotel, excellent staff, room was comfortable and exactly what I expected. We stayed one weekday evening, Three adults in a double queen room. Showers worked well, temperature in the room was easily adjustable. Small dining area, but suited our needs.

Spent Halloween night at this hotel just a few miles from down town Salem. They have a great staff, (took pictures of us in costume) without having to ask. Great location, no scenery but close to everything. Highly recommended.

The architecture is a very nice colonial look in stark contrast to the nearby shopping center. The staff was very friendly. My only negative comment was that the outside door stuck and was hard to open.
