"Very noisy at night"
The worst place I have been in a hotel for sleeping. You folks should have known about construction work going on all night long. Very bad experience . I would NEVER recommend it. It ruined my vacation periodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good experience , only issue was the refrigerator took to long to get cold. Also the ice machine is too farGenuine Expedia guest review
Parking in the entire area is expensive. Here it is $32. Room was nice. Was quite noisy outside, but up on the 9th floor, it was not a big issue.Genuine Expedia guest review
"1 Night Stay"
We really enjoyed teh comfor of the room and property. very well priced and teh charm to go with it. Great location... I will go back for certain...Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel Downtown"
Old building that has been renovated to new without loosing the charm. Cannot beat the location. Walk everywhere. Will definitely stay again on my next trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cosy room for 2"
Great location, friendly staff but read the fine print our room was no bigger than an officeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location....outdated room. Not worth what I paid for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was small. It smelled. Staff wasn't that friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful rooftop views"
Walked everywhere. Also visited the universities. Weather was beautiful. Guests were from many parts of the country.Genuine Expedia guest review
"trouble with security"
The employees were helpful and friendly. But we had problems with drunk young people running up and down the our floor, banging on doors and screaming and yelling till around 3am. Called security but it still went on for hours. Will not be staying there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location close to every hot spot in Gaslamp"
Staff friendly, hotel conveniently located in heart of San Diego's Gas Lamp Quarter. Every hot spot surrounds this old school hotel with that luxurious antique look. Bathroom was small but bed was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great historic w/modern ammenities, friendly staff"
The modern additions such as the perfectly working central air conditioning system with individual controls did not detract from this very classy historic hotel. Great view from our room and from the rooftop patio The staff was extremely friendly and flexible in accommodating our last-minute special requests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was surprised at how nice the hotel was for the price I paid.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautifully Renovated Rooms"
I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, beautiful rooms, rooftop breakfast and, if you're into night life, its location. I wasn't impressed until I got into my room. The buildings has those features like high ceilings and glass-paneled doors with beautiful wood accents. We had three people in our party and were given a free upgrade which included […] an additional room and bathroom. The arrangement of the rooms was very cool, like it crossed over a tiled hallway, so it made the room really long. I loved the bathrooms that have marble and wood accents in combination with the old-school white mosaic tile. I was glad to be on the 6th floor where we didn't hear the 2:00 am partying on the streets, but that's just because I'm too old and tired to out partying all night. In the morning the rooftop is open for breakfast and the view is lovely. Have the valet park your car for $32 a day because that's cheaper than what I did which was the next door lot for $20 for ten hours. It's like that in the whole area. "Convenient in Gaslamp Square area."
The room was small. The hotel charged $32/day for parking, Gaslamp Square caters more to the college crowd. It gets pretty rowdy at nightGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, very close to everything"
Will definitely stay again in the future..we had so much fun.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice old placeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We will be back and are thinking about buying in on a suite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel with lots of Night Life"
We enjoyed our Saturday night stay at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites. The hotel has been well maintained keeping it 1913's charm. The staff was wonderful and the surrounding neighborhood felt very safe. There is a lot of night life in the area. This hotel is location next to many great restaurants and bars which have large open windows that allowed the dance […] music to travel though out the streets until the night life settles down after 2am. "Great Location to SD nightlife!"
Exactly what we were looking for. Two blocks away from our event venue & to the SD nightlife! Very beautiful hotel rooms and well equipped! Definitely will be staying here again soon!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Night after the football game."
Cool old hotel. Very vintage. Don't book the small rooms, very tight. Everything was very cozy and staff were great. I will go back but only in a bigger room.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff was friendly, quick to check us in, and helped get us into our rooms early. The rooftop terrace is lovely and the included breakfast, while modest, was a nice excuse to get up there and enjoy the view. The rooms themselves are larger than the other Gaslamp Quarter rooms I've seen. Ours was the Crane Suite, with a front area with separate TV […] and couches for entertaining, a reasonably sized bathroom and a separate bed area with second TV. Also included was a fridge and microwave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fair enough if you are after night life"
Was fair enough for a short walk at the Gaslamp district if you don't mind the noise from the neighborhood or the street. Mini Refrigerator needs repair and parking is another add on to your bill. Breakfast is very limited with selections. Nothing warm cook but just cereals, sweets, coffee no fruits nor eggs served but the view on the roof top is b […] eautiful. "Charming area & beautiful old building"
The hotel is an old building. The room and bathroom aren't as large as other places, but it is charming and unique. I always stay in one of the small suites for business that takes me to National City. Bed is comfortable. Noise from the street can be heard no matter your floor level. My biggest complaint is that breakfast is awful. There are no hot […] options or protein options. It is basically, bread, bagels, pastries, cereals, coffee and juice. On the upside, breakfast is on the rooftop terrace with great views. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Hotel in Gas Lamp area."
The Gas Lamp Plaza more than met our needs. The room was plenty big and very clean. The staff answered any questions we had about the area or places we were looking for. Stepping out of the hotel and traveling a half block to 5th street we had access to a wide variety of restaurants, shops, and bars. It was an easy walk to the convention center or to […] the waterfront. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to action"
Great hotel in a great location. Only problem was problem with the elevators!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Well located - didn't need the car at all. A little pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very loud street noise"
The hotel itself was fine - clean, big rooms, and good for families. However the noise from the street was unbearable. One of the worst nights sleeps we have ever had in a hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room provided to me on the night of my stay was disappointing. The carpet looked dirty, the room was soo small it felt like a closet, there was no window, and the tub drain clogged. Hotel is in a great location but horrible experience with the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst hotel EVER"
Said it was a suite. It was a closet at best. No window. Had to get on the bed from the foot, as there was no room on the sides. NO WINDOW!! Tv didn't work. Clock was set 4 hours off. Everyone was rude. There were 3 drawers in the room. But they were faux. Worst experience everGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to downtown"
The hotel was very quiet, so that was relaxing after walking all day and being so close to downtown. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated.Being a historical hotel, it maintained the old very nicely (marble hallways, painted, clean,etc_). It was great having the rooftop as a deck to overlook the downtown and water. The breakfast was pretty basic, […] but it was enough to get by until lunch. Again, the deck, and serving area for breakfast was very clean! The lady at front desk was very friendly, and had helpful advice for places to eat. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A great place to stay"
Just spent 2 nights and it was fantastic. Great room that is clean. Loved the rooftop for relaxing. Great location central to everything and easy to walk at night in the gaslamp district for dinner and fun. $30.00 a night to park is steep but bring quarters and try to pay a meter until 8:00pm then it is free until 10:00amGenuine Expedia guest review
"still charging for wi-fi?!"
Beds was horribly uncomfortable. Sad to see they wanted to tag on an extra 6 dollars an hour or 12 dollars a day for wifi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old school hotel"
Excellent location to take a walk along the Gaslamp district. Nice mini-suites, old 60's style.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Hotel close to everything"
I loved Gas Lamp Plaza Suites. It is a very beautiful and clean hotel and the staff was wonderful. Really loved the roof top continental breakfast, it's a great touch to a great hotel! I will definitely stay there again when I'm in San Diego, I loved it!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was very small. Could not get bathroom door all the way open because of the bed. Had asked for a king size as I was sharing with my adult daughter and we got a double. Sitting area is a waste of space. Would have preferred it to be completely open room. Room was noisy (it was on the 10th floor) and near the roof top airconditioning unit. Overall […] the location was nice for where we had to be and the hotel staff was nice. But given the size and noise of the room I would probably not stay there again. Super location!! Cool rooftop breakfast... Clean hotel... Would stay sgainGenuine Hotels.com guest review
OK experience for the price. Great location. Bathrooms could use a little improvement, but the rest of the room was clean. Staff was friendly. Wasn't able to get an early check-in.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a quant older place which we really enjoyed but it has a few qurks. You could hear running water in the morning and some hallway noise but that added to the charm we expected. Awesome city view from the roof top terrace. Staff was very friendly and helpful and seemed to be pleased that we choose to stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to everything!"
Overall good! However, the lobby doesn't look inviting so initially I though the room will not be that good either, but it turned out to be good especially it's a suite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Such a quaint cute find"
Nice location and adorable decor. The water took way too long to heat up thoGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We really enjoyed our stay at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites. It was in a great location and the staff was extremely helpful. We would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice hotel right the Gaslamp Quarter."
Loved the hotel and the location. You can walk to various places like the San Diego Convention Center. The hotel is like being at home on vacation and they also serve free breakfast. It's near restaurants and bars for your pleasure. Mass transit to get you where you need to go. I would definitely go here again when visiting.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fourth of July"
We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the ballpark. We liked that it was in the center of the Gas Lamp District. There was plenty to walk to and all the restaurants and bars were at full force. If there is one thing that was lacking was the continental breakfast....Pretty basic and blah.......Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gaslamp plaza suites"
The room was nice and relatively cozey. Its is an old building, so it does have a bit of a creepy factor, especially in the hallways. The location is convenient if you plan on hanging out downtown. The breakfast sucked! They only serve cold cereal, oatmeal, and some stale pastries.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"in the heart of it..."
Beautiful historic hotel...ideally located amidst all of the Gaslamp excitement. Overnight parking was $30, so be warned. Otherwise, we recommend the hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Highly recommend this hotel, I enjoyed my stay and it was made even better when we received a complimentary room upgrade to a suite. Location is just perfectly in the gaslamp and everyone was really friendly, plus there is a great club downstairs called the syrah.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Gaslamp district, lots of things to do, restaurants etc. Older but interesting part of San Diego.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely view clean room"
this was a very clean room . walking distance from 5th ave which is the main street with all the bars and clubs. what i like most about this hotel is that it was a non smoking hotel. you were able to go on the roof top and smoke if you needed. only bad thing was the parking there was NO PARKING you had to pay $30 valet. will definetly stay here aga […] in Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
