Hotel has the most comfy beds ever. Cabs always available to take you downtown. There is a great breakfast restaurant called West End Cafe a couple of blocks away. We love staying at the Loews Vanderbilt and have been staying there for over 20 years. It is upscale, comfortable, swanky, and convenient to the University and downtown. However, I don't understand why they would charge us $28 for self parking. These are NYC rates and so we should have self-parked somewhere else. Upon arrival I was greeted by bellman and valet. Very attentive and helpful. At checkin I was upgraded to the Club Level at no extra charge. Beautiful hotel! There is no complimentary WIFI unless you are in the lobby so that's the only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars. $10 a day for internet plus $27 each day to self park. Overall, the hotel was good. But in the course of deciding whether or not to spend the per night rate for this hotel, several factors that were considered as pluses weren't as promised or described. I picked this hotel based on the rating. I thought the price was high when I booked, but I decided it was worth it for the family to have some upgrades. This hotel was still under renovation when we stayed there in early May 2013. My wife and I still enjoyed our stay and we didn't mind the construction. Upon check in, we booked a king and ended up with doubles. We were told there were none available. The room was newly renovated so we really didn't mind. The first morning, we were awakened to some construction […] in the room above us, a quick call to the front desk and it stopped. The staff was really pleasant, all the way to the shoe shine man James. If you buy a new pair of boots in Nashville, make sure you let him work his magic on them like we did(we bought ours @ French's in downtown). Downtown Nashville was a quick drive down Broadway(less than 5 minutes). We found the area around the hotel fun to explore as well. When the renovation is complete, this should be an awesome hotel.
