Rates were very fair. Breakfast is good - would be nice if it was completely ready by the stated time - often had to wait for the hot items. Location close enough to shopping, restaurants, and downtown Nashville. Second time staying here and will return.
"Under constructioroon"
Thsi hotel is currently under going a major remodel. Keep that in mind if your traveling soon. The front desk staff was out standing. They took very good care of us, exactly what you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber. However with the remodel, whoever is in charge of cleaning rooms is allowing they're job to slip a bit!! Our room, though clean just […] didn't seem as clean as it should have been. When my wife and I first got to the room we found something kinda wet and sticky on the comforter on the bed, I contacted one of the maids on the floor, and they promtly took care of it. "check your bill...."
Check your bill for accuracy before you check out. I was doublecharged for delivery on a room service order ; I told the front desk at check out, who told me it would be taken care of. It went through my bank for the original amount. I was also told that since the hotel was being renovated,that there would be free internet and one free movie. Of course […] you have to sign in like normal, saying to bill it to the room. I'm not sure which, but one of them also went through my bank after check out. I did email the manager, and have yet to hear back though it's been a week. I really do like this hotel and the Loew's chain, but can't say I trust their business practices any more. Overall it was just OK but for the brand and price, I just expected more. I can only see things getting better and I do understand the remodeling but it should have been known before I booked. As a project manager, I see several areas that could be much improved. I wish I could speak to management and decision makers to help guide. "Hotel under renovation"
The hotel is undergoing a huge renovation (this was not mentioned on the website). As compensation, the garage is half off and they give free wi-fi and a movie. But, it is noisy during the day, there is no lobby nor restaurant, although you can get breakfast. The room was fine, but looked like it really needed a re-do. The halls and carpets are worn […] and walls scuffed. I am sure this will all be fine in several months when the work is finished. The lobby is due to be reopened in May. "A disappointment all around."
I understand that Loews is rated as a 4 star hotel, and has hundreds of favorable reviews. However, my husband and I were not impressed. The room was clean and comfortable, but I can get clean and comfortable for much less money. The hotel is currently under major renovation, which it desperately needs. It is very dated with worn, faded carpeting, scratched […] surfaces and chipped paint. But, the renovation makes navigating the hotel difficult and the staff offered no information at check-in regarding parking, elevators and locating our room. For dinner, my husband asked the lady at the front desk to suggest a casual restaurant. (He was wearing sweatpants from traveling 8 hours.) We were sent to Midtown Cafe. The food was delicious, but more expensive and upscale than we were dressed or prepared for. Also, I was disappointed to find that the hotel charges it's guests for parking. Perhaps it's standard in the downtown area, but it came as a surprise to us, having only stayed in the past in hotels near the airport, Green Hills as well as Brentwood, where hotel parking for guests is free. And finally, having become accustomed to waking to find our bill in our room the morning of check-out, we were surprised that we had to check-out at the front desk. "Very convenient to Vanderbilt Univ"
Right across from Vandy. About 1.4 miles from the music bars on Broadway, but the hotel gives a free shuttle. Very clean and comfortable. Only things I didn't like we're the hefty $22/day for self-parking and also a $9.95 daily charge for wifi in room when you could use it in lobby for free. Common areas are nice, rooms are a little worn. Housecleaning was not up to standards -- forgot to change towels, did not replenish mini bar, did not replace paper coffee cups in room. "Business trip"

I stayed at the hotel while on a college visit with my son to Vanderbilt. The location was perfect. Nice hotel; friendly staff. The only negative was that I had to use the phone in the room to make some business calls. When I went to check out, the bill for the 4 or 5 relatively short phone calls was over $200!
