"Great hotel for a great price"
I was a little concerned that this wouldn't be a great choice for a hotel but we were very pleasantly surprised! I'd definitely stay here again! The location is great, the rooms are very large. Don't read the negative reviews like I did just book it and save!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Second night there my key wouldnt work and it took over an hour and a half for the front desk to get if fixed. The front desk line was overflowing and there was a mysterious problem with me not being in the system as being checked in. It was very late and I was exhausted. This is unacceptable to me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good experience bad location"
hotel was fine, great amenities including spa. Food was good. Knew negatives of location being off of strip and not close to many other hotels but would choose location on strip or even downtown next time (downtown much improved since my last trip there). Biggest issue i had was with how Hotels.com listed our names on room-was a problem the entire trip […] and didn't allow us to charge to room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"How to get a good sleeping"
We had a good time over there. Food was excelent, service as well. The only one thing, we don't like it was, the extra charge of $84.00dls. It means you charge $28.00 dls per day. It was the only problem we saw. Hopefully in the future, you can change that. Thanks overall for the rest of the people working there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Business travel in Las Vegas"
The room was clean and very spacious. The extra high speed internet worked great for my business stay. Ate dinner at the VooDoo Steak Restaurant, the food very goo , service was excellent and the view of Las Vegas is the best. The hotel is just across the I-15 from the strip so if you want to gamble and walk the strip it is very close but for me as […] a business traveler it kept me out of the traffic with easy freeway access for my sales calls. My stay at the Rio All Suites hotel was intended as a trip for a couple of friends to blow of some steam and relax a little... I was able to enjoy about the first 12 hours before things took a turn for the worse. My friends and I went out to the strip for a few hours and came back around 3 a.m. once I got into my room I realized I had misplaced my ID, […] I immediately start calling casinos we had been through and the night club and had no luck. My friend then called hotel security and explained what had happened and that my ID was most likely in the cab we had just ridden in. They then told us to come down stairs and they would ID me and look at the surveillance tape so they could tell me what cab # we had taken (I thought "HOW NICE of them"). We headed down and as soon as the elevator doors opened, I witnessed something that I will never be able to forget. Something that I will picture anytime I go to las vegas if I ever return. "Spacious rooms but cheap, tacky...and unsavory"
The best thing they have going is the spaciousness of the rooms. Not on the strip. This hotel is cheap in attitude and service. Got there at11:30am and were told that check in was at 4:00pm even if the room was ready. Had to pay a $20 early check-in fee. I knew we would be nickel and dime'd during our stay. When we called for our car we were told we […] had to go downstairs to the outside valet station. Call-in valet service was for premier guest only....really? Tacky! The next morning I tried to make my complimentary cup of coffee with the little coffee pot and pack of coffee. Turns out you have to pay for those out of the mini bar. Cheap! Looking forward to the buffets gelato? Sorry 9 flavors mediocre ice cream. To make matters worse when we check out at 7:00am Sunday morning December 7th we got out of the elevator and walked straight into "yellow crime scene tape" and blue drapery aka CSI Las Vegas. I'm not kidding people! (Google Rio Hotel Police Shooting for the unsavory details) We were directed to an employee only hallway where we meet more "yellow tape" and at least 50 plus hotel security and police officers. Turns out an under police officer shot and killed a robbery suspect that morning. The dead body was still in the casino/lobby hidden make shift draperies. So it looks like we ended our stay with a "Bang!" I rather spend an extra $100 per night elsewhere. The Rio Hotel will never see me again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noisy, expensive, not family-friendly"
Noisy, expensive, and not suitable for families with kids. Checking in at the front desk, the noise from the music was so loud we had to shout back and forth at each other. Ads for strippers were everywhere. Waitresses in lingerie roamed the floor day and night. Even the cheapest food options were three times what you'd find anywhere else. On the plus […] side, the bed was comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was fine - located just off the strip on Flamingo. Room was spacious and kept clean. Restaurants in the hotel are kind of pricey.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No coffee with room!"
Our faucet was broken and hot water wouldn't turn on in he sink. I called it in but at checkout they had no record of me calling. I was also a little put off that I couldn't get a free cup of coffee with the room. Coffee was available for a fee in the room? I kind of figured at 140 bucks a cup of coffee wouldn't be asking too much!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Want a good hotel......don't stay at the Rio"
Super extreamly slow internet, slow shuttle service to the strip, the safe in the room didnt work, parking was often difficult to get. One pays for resort fee now.....dosnt the hotels make enough from the casino and high price restaurants & bars??? And what did the resort fee include?....no pool, internet was awful, the gym was nothing special... I […] will say, the room was nice and big with an great view of the strip (we were on the 12th floor). All in all it was a very big dissapointment. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Huge room with a great view"
We stayed here to see the Penn & Teller show (which I highly recommend). I was pleasantly surprised by the room, and only wished I was staying more than one night. Our room was on the 13th floor (yes, it does exist!) and our view was out the front of the hotel. One wall was floor to ceiling glass, and the room includes a generous sitting area with couches […] and chairs, and plenty of "extra" floor space. Some reviews mention that this hotel is showing its age, and it's true that some of the decor and fixtures are a little dated, but it's well-maintained and very comfortable. Like any casino hotel, it can be a chore to check in and find your room. Don't bother driving to the lobby area or parking in the "registration" lot. Just go to self-parking and make your way to the lobby. Also be prepared that they (and nearly every other Vegas hotel) charge a resort fee on top of your room charge. Finally, not a "negative" necessarily, but a little odd: our room had a small window in the show that looked out into the main room. Which of course means you can see into the shower from the main room. I've never seen something like that before, and it struck me as odd. It also means that if the shower door is left open, the toilet is viewable from the main room. Note that this is not the "great view" I mention in my title. Overall: loved it! I'll stay again. "Large rooms, lots of deferred maintenance."
Nice big rooms with big, comfortable beds. But condition of hotel has deteriorated since we visited a couple of years ago. A lot of deferred maintenance, esp. noticeable with the elevators. Face plates were broken or missing. Also, long lines were common. This is hotel and not ownership problem, since we stayed at another Caesar's property after this […] that was fine. Also note no refrigerators or microwaves provided, regardless, expensive WiFi, and fairly bad cell reception. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It was horrible. The rooms were redone, but there were already many things broken. Stains on curtains lampshades and in drawers, one of the rooms had a horrible molt scent. Wall were paper thin. 4.50 for a bottle of water in the shop. Extra resort fee, dinner was outrageously expansive and not very good, we left early in the morning, didn't even stay […] for breakfast. "Nickel and Diming"
We had stayed here in 2001 and we found the hotel to be just as lovely now as it was then. However, I must say that they nickel and dime you a little bit more than they did back then. The most egregious example of this was the fact that they charge $5 to access the internet to print a boarding pass. I have never had to pay for this service anywhere […] in the world that I've traveled. Tacky, tacky, tacky. I was also disappointed that the rooftop lounge has become a loud disco and not the great place to hang out and hear mellow music. Also, they charge money to just go up there and, if you want to sit outside instead of in the lounge, you need to buy a bottle -- $250 minimum. Last time I was here, it was all free to go up and the atmosphere was much more romantic. That being said, I'd probably stay here again anyway be cause I like that it is away from the strip. And, the food in the hotel restaurants was excellent, especially Martorano's. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful room, wonderful service, HORRIBLE NOISE!"
I liked everything about the Rio- the service, the lovely room, the attentive service, all of it. HOWEVER- the noise from the Voodoo rooftop nightclub was so LOUD- intense, pounding bass- that I had to flee my 23rd floor room the first night-they had to put me in another tower. STILL.....the noise made life MISERABLE every night for THREE nights. Listen […] to me: my hearing is not that great, I never complain, but we are talking about powerfully intense, thudding bass, like when someone drives through your neighborhood with a muscle car with the huge speakers. I put on headphones with White Noise and STILL I couldn't block it out! There is absolutely ZERO excuse for this! Since when do they have a nightclub that everybody in the hotel can hear?? "I hope Rio reads this."
I may not be your client base and you may not care, but I really did not enjoy my stay at Rio. What a pain it is to get to my room or just around. I was angry about resort and room fees that weren't mentioned or advertised. Internet should be standard at any hotel today in a civilized country for no charge. Charging, what I consider a monthly charge, […] for one day is ridiculous. On top of that, the internet was poor. That kind of bad internet should be free. Soap and shampoo was not available in the room the first day. I will never go back, and I go to Vegas a lot, unless Rio calls me and apologizes. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sad but true"
The Rio is the perfect reason that Caesars should just go ahead and declare bankruptcy and move on. The property is very dated, and in worse condition than I have ever seen. To make up for the lack of revenue they are generating they come at you from every angle to get more out of you. From the ridiculous "resort fee", that offers NOTHING of value, […] to the $9 for coffee out of the mini bar, to the $5 for water at the vending machine, it is ridiculous. Even the internet that is supposed to be free with your "resort fee" does not even give you a free offer, they try to charge you an additional $10 when you use it, then you have to have it reversed when you check out, a process in of itself. We had an extra bonus of having someone charge nearly $300 to our room at the VooDoo lounge--we didn't even go up there on this trip! It was reversed, but it took a long time and we got the "we will have to have accounting research it" line, so now i have to watch my credit card statement to make sure this didn't happen, and I used a company credit card for the trip since it was for business so additional stress as a result of my stay there I didn't need. It really is sad, i have probably stayed at the Rio 20 times over the years, and remember it being a fun, busy and cool place to go. Now it is a dump, it is absolutely dead, and not worth the price of the resort fee! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"If house water costs $500, what about the Fiji?"
Enjoyed the room, lots of room to move around. Wasn't happy about the resort fee, pool was closed and internet was in/out all weekend. Called the front desk about it and the person told me it was out but would be back soon. It was like that all weekend. When I was leaving I tried checking out on the TV, it was out. Looked for the express check out and […] it wasn't to be found, asked 2-3 employees and they just told me to get in line. And 1 more fun moment, after placing bets in the sports book I saw 2 coolers with water by the bar. 1 had Fiji and the other the house brand. I asked for 1 and the server asked if I was a player. I mentioned that I had just placed a bet in the sports book and she handed me the house brand. When I asked for the better quality bottle she stated it was for players only and since I had already placed my bet I wasn't a player. Really made me feel that my wagering was appreciated. This hotel needs a major renovation. The rooms are dingy. Chair cushions so worn out when you sit down, you feel the chair base under you. The rooms layout is not tv watching friendly.
