"Great stay, service needswork"
Only 3 employees for check in...? 20 people in line. Waited 40 min in line. It's a shame cause all else was good to great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place for the price!!!"
We had a great time here! Awesome and friendly staff, clean, great location....really good restaurants...Fun rooftop bar. Loved it, would stay again in a heartbeat!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Be sure to see if any events events are going on. We have stayed here before and had a good time. But for this trip we were unaware that the WSOP was going on. We waited in line in Valet for about 15 min in our car just be able to get out. We waited in line for 30 min to check in. Once we got up front they did not have the room we reserved. We reserved […] the room on this site and specifically chose the "Samba King Suite". Not a preference of King, but was the specific room chosen and offered. At check in, we were told all they had were rooms 2 beds, they were all out of Kings. I was told that was not guaranteed a the King but only guaranteed a room in general. We were told the rooms were newly renovated. They only thing that looked new was the flat panel TV. However because of how the room was set up, we could not watch TV from the couch or the bed. The TV faced the back of the desk. If you turned the TV to face the couch, half the screen would be covered by the wall. The TV would not turn to face the bed because of shot cords. I called the front desk to complain that the room was unsatisfactory. They told me they could do nothing over the phone, not event tell me if one was available. I had to go downstairs again. So I did waited in line another 30 min to be told the hotel was over booked and there was nothing they could do. So instead we left and went to another hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Classic Vegas Style"
The RIO's rooms are about 4 times the size of a typical corporate hotel room these days. They have floor to ceiling windows.. a nice couch/chair/table area, and huge beds. You never know what you're going to get in Vegas, from small rooms, to no view, to ratted out carpet and bed spreads, but I've found the Rio to be extremely reliable in giving me […] that room with a view (and roominess) that makes me feel like Vegas from the movies. It's a couple blocks back from the strip which is a hassle if you plan on walking everywhere.. but has everything you need right there.. including the VOODOO lounge.. on the top of the hotel.. with a view of the entire city. The rooms are nice and big.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a nice surprise. I never stayed at the Rio before. I've always stayed on the strip. It was nice when we first walked into the casino to not smell smoke. Although as you get deeper into the casino there are sections where it's a bit smoky. I like that the cards were checked before you can go into the elevators for security. Although there was […] no one stationed there in the morning. The room was very very nice. It was clean it was roomy we were very happy there. The only drawback was that although this was a non-smoking floor, the people staying in the room next to me were smoking. They walked down the hall with cigarettes. And smell was coming through vent. That was a downside. When I called housekeeping to have the room sprayed and to fumigate the hallway they told me I would have to leave the room because spray is too strong. So we just had to suffer through it and then checked out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"waiting for more than an hour to check in"
I would not have booked this hotel if I know it took an hour to check in. Room is big but that is about it. Hotel provides coffee machine but no coffee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"This place was so good."
This place was so good, as soon as you walk into the lobby to check in you can just feel how good The Rio is. And the service was excellent. OMG, the food and drinks were good there as well. They have the best Coca Cola I have ever had. The cola is so good, I mean it's so good that when it hits your lips your knees buckle like that SWV son where they […] sing about getting weak in the knees. "Excellent room, a bit of travel to the strip"
I enjoyed my stay at the Rio and would recommend this hotel and casino to anyone. The pool is the best pool in all of Vegas and the dining superb. Only downside is that it's not on the strip - they do offer shuttles, however part of the Vegas experience is walking the strip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Got this one for a very low rate + resort fee + $20 food and beverage credit. Well worth it. Room was huge and remodeled. There were parts of the bathroom that looked a bit older, but did not bother me considering the great deal. Ricky at the front desk was great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great room. Big and spacious. Double sink, room refrigerator. greatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Some of the staff was friendly and nice, most were not! Had a problem with the shower, never got fixed. Tried to charge me for mini_bar use that never happened. Got attitude from the front desk when I called them on it. Will NOT stay there again!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay at the Rio was the worse experience i have had in Vegas! The first night of sleeping on springs, my fiancé and i called down to front desk to have a new mattress installed! Then in the morning room did not even have coffee. We were told we had to purchase coffee? Really? 600 buck for a weekend and I can't even get a coffee?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not at all happy with the $26.00 addition per day for "resort fee". This should have been disclosed during booking on hotel.com pricing. Hotels.com is equally to blame for not disclosing this in their presentation of hotel choices!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Price was too Good to pass up"
The room rate was $41. This hotel is certainly worth more than $41 per night. I would cap the price @ 80 per night for a regular room. The hotel also has port holes from the bedroom looking into the bathroom. Really weird.... Overall, the condition of the hotel is very good, the buffet is good, not great. "It was fine."
We checked in pretty late due to heavy traffic on the road that evening, but had called in advance to make sure our room wasn't given away. Somehow unbeknownst to us we got put into the amazon honeymoon suite on the 3rd floor. I say this because usually when I get upgraded the person who checks me in would tell me I got one, but she didn't. Perhaps […] what's to follow will explain why. Upon entry, I saw that the room was huge. Especially after only expecting a standard room. There was a living room, dining room, bedroom, 1 1/2 bathrooms and a walk in closet. However, I think this is where they leave old suites to die. There were 4 TVs to choose from. One didn't display a picture but had sound and the other three had really bad reception. Dual sinks in the bathroom but one of the sinks, the stopper thing was broken and water wouldn't drain out the bowl. The shower had three different shower heads to choose from but two of them were controlled by one temperature nozzle that I believe was broken because I couldn't get the water to be warm. Alas finally the 3rd one worked. There were light switches that didn't control anything. I think perhaps some bulbs needed to be replaced. Overall, I'm just happy I had a place to rest my head that night. I wasn't expecting to be put in a room like this and am thankful for the "upgrade"? I just hoped for a little warning that some things wouldn't be working in the room. I wonder why the hotel would risk putting someone in a room that was not completely functional even if it were an "upgrade". So anybody who gets this room in the future, you have been warned! Fun and friendly dealers. Great pool. Large room. Right next to everything in Vegas. Terrific price. The Rio is the best value in Vegas. I love this hotel and will return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a good experience."
20 minute wait for elevator, 40 minute wait for valet to bring my car, wrong room type given, then transferred to a Samba Suite - pitiful excuse for a renovation (bathrooms not updated) and not even close to a suite by any standards. I won't stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent off-strip hotel! Great pool."
This hotel is perfect for people who want to be close to the Strip but not off too far. A short 2-minute cab ride & you're there! The casino is big w/ lots of games & plenty of tables. We ate at the Sports Deli - big sandwiches but pretty basic - & at All American Bar & Grille; again, good but basic no-frills food. The room is huge, clean, & comfortable. […] The staff at the hotel is fantastic & very friendly. Our big draw was the pool - free! We hung out at the Voo (21+) & it was great! Drinks are pricey but it IS Las Vegas so we expected that. My suggestion is go to the bar that's not by the bathrooms; our first day by the pool we waited 20 minutes before someone even greeted us! It wasn't very busy & the bartenders were moving slowly. The second day at the pool, went to the other bar, boom. No problem! We will definitely stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Very nice hotel. A little far from the strip; but it's a nice enough hotel that you don't have to go the strip if you don't want to. I would definitely come back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
RIO was very welcomingfor pets, great pet relief areas but the pet floor smelled pet mess and urine. The front desk gave us a wrong room and i had to fight for what i paid for. The Rios customer service was very poor. There could have been simple fixes to the mistake. I have recieved betterservice for half the price other placesGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the cost"
The rooms are old and need upgrading. We had abt 3 inch or more worth of dirt under our bed on the carpet. It was nasty. We only noticed it on the last day. I was doing exercise in the room when I noticed. I took a picture of it. Under that bed have not been clean in years. I would never stay at the Rio again ever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time staying at Rio. We loved the Shuttle service Rio provided to the Strip until 1am. Restaurants were awesome. Personnel & Cleaning folks were very nice and not Rude...In fact the whole staff at the Rio Hotel were Great...a must stay at the Rio...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our Keys Didn't Work"
Our keys never worked. I am not sure if they were treating us like second class citizens because we didn't book direct. We went through 4 sets of keys in one night. None of them worked. Security had to let us in every time. And we had to wait outside the door for varying amounts of time for them to show up. The guy who gave us the first set of keys […] said: "If these don't work, just come down and get another set or ask security to let you in." So there was obviously a problem with the key reader of that room. But they never offered to move us to a different room. I WOULD LIKE A REFUND! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
As a local my boyfriend and I did a staycation here at the rio. The whole four days were terrible. The service was horrible the rooms were old and filthy. "Rip - off"
Don't believe the price you see on the internet. Once you are there and ready to check in, they will charge you a $25.00 "Resort Fee." What a SCAM! The fee supposedly includes access to their gym, local calls, and internet access. Are they kidding? What decade are they living in? Who cares about local calls anymore? Who doesn't have a cell phone? And […] what percentage of their guest use the gym? Next, they'll be telling us that the fee includes access to the casino! The room was very spacious. Nice view from the 22 floor. The coffee maker was available but there no cream or coffee powder to make coffee. Had comfortable sleep in morning :-)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
it was great, i think they should have had 2 discount tickets for the hotel guest at the buffet and instead of $10 off it should have been $15. i also miss all the activity at the rio the maudi grass seen and the tracks on the ceilling with people performing, that was an awesome experience about 8 years ago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Room Rates BUT..."
Nice room at very low cost until you add the dreaded Resort Fee & then the ridiculous food prices. Even the BK Broiler was over $9. Missed the Mardi Gras feel of the past & property felt a bit dated. At least my Suite was very pleasant until I found that the Gourmet coffe maker does not include complimentary coffee. Mini Bar wanted $8 for the little […] cups. "okay, but not for business travel"
I chose the Rio because it was close to my work and the low rates. Given the hour long wait in the registration line, the dirty room, and the smell of smoke everywhere (i understand, it's Vegas), I would not recommend this hotel for business or really for casual stays. On the plus side, did have a variety of food choices.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I would gladly pay the extra $70 then stay in downtown Vegas again not as many homeless people in the Rio area. Room was very clean and large and appreciated having a refrigerator. Nice touch was the bus running every 1/2 hour to the Vegas strip. Pool was very nice like being at a beach with the sand area. The only thing I did not like in the pool part […] was you could not bring in your own drinks. Would stay again plus they have amazing options at the buffet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Happy with Rio"
For what I paid to stay at the Rio, I am very disatisfied. The service at the front desk was absolutely terrible. They didn't have enough people there to serve the number of people in line, and once I got there, they were rude. I was not given the room that I paid for, and they offered to not charge a resort fee. (NOT GOOD ENOUGH)! Is it too much to […] ask that if a hotel is going to allow smoking everywhere that they also have a better filtration system? The only positive feedback I can give you is the security officers at your hotel were very polite and professional. When I could'nt find my car, they drove me to the garage on the other side of the hotel. That impressed me. My biggest complaint about Las Vegas as a whole is how practically every business as a whole nickles and dimes the consumer. Are you not making enough with the gambling? There are better cities out there to do business that don't take advantatge of the comsumer! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Fabulous Rio???"
Only 40 minutes to check in; I left a day early due to a family emergency (already paid for the through Hotels.com) and I cancelled through the phone service and express checkout at 7 am -( their TV checkout was inoperable) and I was charged a resort fee for the day I didn't stay - go figure!
