We stayed here for one night on the 3rd of October whilst in London to see a show . Good location near to tube station and check-in striaghtforward although staff not exactly welcoming. The older nature of the building ment finding the room was a little difficult -lots of doors to go through! . Room very clean an well furnished , bathroom a bit small but clean and plenty of hot water. The hotel was quiet at night even though it is located on a busy road.Breakfast was very disappointing . On arriving at the restaurant at 9.30 am there was a large queue to be seated and despite there being plenty of staff it was chaotic to say the least. After waiting for nearly 20 minutes for a table, the variety and quality of the food available was very average and not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Overall this hotel was reasonable value for money but would recommend booking room only and getting breakfast elsewhere!

We stayed at the Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt Hotel for 3 nights in August. The best was the location, nice and elegant neighbourhood, very close to the tube. Having reserved a double room, we very quite surprise that they tried to give us a very tiny room with a queen size bed close to one wall, which was much more suitable for a single person traveling. At our request, they changed us to another double room with a normal layout. Rooms were clean and well kept, the service very friendly. One bad point: only two old elevators for the whole hotel, one constantly out of service during our stay. No one helped to get our luggage up to the 4th floor, we didn't see any porters at all.

Rooms are a little tight, even by London standards, but they are well laid out. The bathroom was regular sized, but the rest of the room, not so much. You need a GPS unit to find some of the rooms--I counted 18 turns, four doors, and three flights of stairs between my room and the lobby. But it was a very good value for the money, near the Tube, near a number of museums, and generally well kept. Also, if you are used to the great Asira amenities you normally get at Radisson, you'll be disappointed.

Small rooms, small bed, small bathroom! Called the reception immediatelly having seen the room asking whether they would have any bigger rooms available as the room was so small that it hardly left any space around a small double bed. The receptionist was helpful and we swapped the room to a room with a window and a view to the street in front, that meant some extra noise. However, we got that room swapped again the following day. Also, one more negative side was the elevator. People seemed to have a lot of trouble with it. It was small (good for two people), it did not state anything about the safe working load and operated very slow, so most often we just used the stairs. Stairs and corridors so narrow that it made carrying the luggage difficult. Location of the hotel was good. Can't say anything about the food as we had no meal or breakfast at that place. Felt good to explore the restaurants near by.

We stayed in the hotel for 7 nights in March, 2009, the room was pretty small, comparing to what we are used to in the US, but perfectly fine for 2 people. There is a minibar, that could be used as a refrigerator. Price of the breakfast buffet is 16 GBP per person, so we chose to buy our cheese and bread from the near by supermarket and enjoyed the breakfast in the comfort of our own room. There was no coffee maker in our room, but there was a kettle instead and I guess we could request the coffeemaker from the front desk people, that are very responsive. The underground station is less then a quarter mile away. Heathrow is easily accessible, so you don't have to spend extra money for a taxi to get from and to the airport. The bathroom was very small and had it's issues, but there is everything you need there, including body wash, shampoo, shower cap and a robe. They have a business center downstairs with 2 computers and a printer, there is also high speed wireless internet connection in the rooms. If you need power adapter for your laptop, ask for it at the front desk. There are several restaurants and a Starbucks very close to the hotel.

I couldn't make a phone call from the room. Reason why? Well you need to leave a credit card as deposit. Was I informed? no, until I called, complained I couldn't make a call from the room and then was informed of the credt card requirement. The room we were allocated room eight was comfortable and clean the only down side was that it was on an inside corridor and was on a practical level virtually windowless with the exception of a very high placed window which I guess must have looked into a yard of some sort. That said if you are only using it a base for a couple of days and are not bothered about street views then it was ok for the money. Hotel team were always very helpful and polite. We did not eat a main meal there as we were out most of the time but the menu looked good and reasonalby priced. That said we did have and can recommend the bar snacks, especially the Club Sandwich best I've had in a UK hotel. Excellent location for accessing many London museums, galleries and shows some museums within a few minutes walking distance and the underground is only a couple of minutes walk.

The staff was very helpful...I arrived about 7 am from Heathrow expecting to just leave my luggage and disappear until 2pm check-in time but the desk clerk gave me a room straightaway. (This was partly due to availability..it was January..but this gesture was still much appreciated!) The concierge also helped me book a shuttle return to Heathrow rather than have me do it myself. Downsides: One tiny postage stamp size elevator; the wait at peak times could be lengthy. Local phone charges for calls made from one's room were exhorbitant..60 pence a minute or part thereof! I would imagine that this is standard to London hotels but it was still a shock!! No phone by the bedside. Gratis morning newspaper promised but never delivered.
