"Won't be staying there anytime soon."
The location is not in a nice part of Anchorage at all. There was noisy people outside and inside the hotel and I didn't feel safe there. The people at the front desk weren't very friendly either. I went to another hotel the next night and paid more and it was worth paying more than staying at the Ramada. Sorry just being honest, I won't be staying […] there again. Extremely disappointed! We expected a quality hotel as expected with association of the name Ramada. It was shocking to see the horrendous accommodations as one would expect in a "red light district"! Suffice it to say we were not satisfied at all!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Let me preface this with the fact that I stay in a wide range of hotel/motel accommodations. I can easily overlook things and generally post positive reviews. However, this place is not only run down and dated, it is dirty as well. The heaters make loud noises, the toilet didn't flush, trains can be heard throughout the night ... not worth the money […] since there are so many really quaint places to stay both in and out of the city of Anchorage. "Convenient for one night"
We choose the Ramada because we were coming in on the 8pm train from Fairbanks and they have a free shuttle. Kudos for the quick response time. Ditto for the shuttle to our rental car the next morning. The rest of the hotel experience was a bit disappointing. First off, when we walked up to the desk, they had no record of our reservation. The desk clerk […] looked at us like we were trying to pull something. A call to Hotels.com cleared that up but was disconcerting. What if it was high season and they were full? The hotel is a bit dingy and has obvious deferred maintenance. Our room was mostly clean and the bed was comfy enough, but the top of the baseboard heater had not been dusted in a long time. There was peeling paint in the bathroom and a towel rack that fell apart when you touched it. We appreciated the available guest laundry to do a couple of loads that evening, and the WiFi worked fine so we could surf while we waited for the laundry to finish. The desk gave us a 10% off certificate to the restaurant next door but we didn't use it so I have no comment on it. It really would be a long walk to get to any of the downtown area so it wouldn't suit for a longer stay but for one night stopover it was OK. We would probably pick somewhere else next time. OK................Didn't get my 3AM wake up call but lucky I was awake as airplane leaves at 6.......................Got to airport on time so no problem..........Maybe my phone in room was turn off so didn't have ringer on................Room was warm all night and unable to turn heat down...Everything worked out and will stay their again next year […] when I visit Alaska....... "Poor service; poor maintenance"
Quite disappointed. Shuttle driver, though friendly, was totally uninformed about restaurants in the area, and seemed mostly interested in talking about getting drunk with his friends at 3 AM. Bathroom sink fixture was broken, so that we could only get burning hot water out of the faucet. The handle pulled off if you tried to adjust the temperature […] . "Nice for overnight stay with airport shuttle"
Older hotel - but clean, nice airport shuttle service, and only 2 blocks from rental car pick up in town. Very convenient to downtown area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Front desk and van driver staff were outstanding. Great downtown location and could walk to everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ramada Motel Anchoraqge"
It was OK. I was a little disappointed in the restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to town"
The hotel is extremely tired. No screens on the windows and no air conditioning. I don't know if they put us over the restaurant because of our booking travel site but do not recommend staying there for the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and Comfortable"
After reading the reviews I was hesitant but found it fine....It is an older downtown hotel but clean and comfortable..My suggestion would be that people who would like a four star hotel not book a two star one..Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a mediocre hotel way overpriced. In addition, its proximity to the reailroad tracks makes it noisy and uncomfortable. We were waken up at 6 am or earlier by the trains whistle! I would not go back and I believe this hotel is not worth more than $ 100 / day.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were only there overnight & all was fine. I would certainly recommend this hotel. Good location & the price was reasonable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great budget choice!"
Stayed here instead of the ones the Cruises work with to avoid the seasonal mark-up. Fun Moose/outdoor motifs that are tasteful and fun, but not tacky. The area it is located at isn't much to look at, rather bland but I wouldn't say unsafe. I guess it's not far from the Tony Knowles coastal trail, which would be a plus for my book, but I didn't have […] the time to explore that further. Ministore at front desk for travel supplies or cheap eat-in-room foodstuffs. Free shuttle to the train station. Didn't feel like there was any a/c in the hallways, but there was in the rooms (how often does Alaska really need a/c anyway?) Number one reason to stay here is the discount to The Slippery Salmon! That's the name of the bar/restaurant around the corner. The restaurant looks like a tiny little dive, but had the best crablegs I've ever had in my life. I would stay here again. "Convenient location, friendly staff"
Walking distance to downtown, which worked out well since we had returned our rental car. Room overlooked a restaurant patio. Ventilation was by window only, which had no screen. On the plus side, staff was helpful and shuttle service was excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No Air Conditioning! No screens!"
It was a nightmare for 2 nights. We booked through expedia and were sent to the back of the building in 2 rooms that had no screens on the windows. We were hot with no air conditioning in either room in the middle of June. The train blows it whistle at about 3:10 am 4:10 am 6:10 am and a bunch of times at night also. "Good for the price"
Within walking distance to downtown tourist areas. The room and motel are nice enough for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was not as clean and in repair as others we stayed in for a similar price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nothing special, perfectly functional. Clean. We just stayed one night before taking the train to Seward.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expensive For Motel Feel"
Sub-par accommodations for cost. You pay for prime downtown location. Walls could use fresh coat of paint. A/C was jerry-rigged into room; hot exhaust vented right into room & dripped on carpet. Bed was not comfortable; with lumps and all.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was exceptional. Advertised as near airport, but it is not. Facility was tired, but very clean and neat. Slept well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location if you are taking the train"
We got off of the train from Fairbanks and didn't have a car. We were able to walk to the hotel with our luggage (had to carry bags up lots of stairs). The hotel appearance is ordinary, but clean. We had a Saturday late afternoon flight and were able to spend the hours after checkout by walking to the Weekend Festival right down street. "Better price than many other downtown hotel"
The hotel was clean and located downtown. However, many aspects of the room seemed old - didn't look like the hotel had been updated in a while. Overall a perfectly fine stay and staff were pleasant!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very old and delapidated. Carpet old and stained, room door knob falling off, musty smelling, electrical system poor, ceiling peeling, bathroom counter needs replacing, badly. Looks like it should be bulldozed on the inside.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Location is close to downtown, about a 10 minute walk. The air conditioning was broken in the room and was very musty. Requested it be fixed , took 2 attempts and then was moved to another room as it was broken and room was like a sauna . 2nd room, air worked. Carpet was filthy, with stains too numerous to count. "In Anchorage on business"
Room was small/tight, noisy fan running constantly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very disappointed in Ramada. Older building remodeled to fair standard. The first room I was given smelled so bad that I asked for (and was assigned) a different room. The worst was the countertops in bathrooms--both had many pores and cavities--nice breeding ground for bacteria. Not a great section of the city. Reasonably clean, though there were cup […] rings on desktops in both rooms. Temp was 80 degrees in first room. A.C. did not work in the second room (yes it was needed to cool down the room in April). Sink drain stopper locked in closed position but building maintenance took care of it promptly. Lighting in the room is inadequate; one light fixture in first room was broken--not burned out--broken. No electrical outlets by desk or bed (for cellphone and computer). WiFi worked well in the room. No breakfast--they give you a coupon for $3 off at restaurant next door; I didn't try it so can't comment on it. Microwave and fridge in the room--both clean and worked well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

nearlyyyy pecfectGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A reasonably priced place in the downtown area. I spent a week there on business, so cost and parking were important. The place is older and a bit run down--probably not a great choice for vacationers. Adjoining bar/restaurant on the downscale side but has decent food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very good for the price. Front desk was very helpfull and freindly. Rooms good and clean. Coffee maker and fridg great for longer stays. Not the best location, but two streers from downtown if yiu needed. Free airport suttles.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking distance to Mall and Food"
The staff was pleasant and the room Quiet. There is a nice view out the window. We were able to walk downtown go to the mall or even to dinner. There is a place to eat called The Slippery Salmon right next door to the hotel. Just incase you don't want to go somewhere far to eat. Good food and service. Great portion size.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent place to stay"
Everything was fine, no complaints. Good value. Slippery Salmon, adjoining the hotel, was OK for food and drink.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'll be back."
Very friendly desk. Good sized, well appointed room. All was quiet the four nights I stayed. I have business in Anchorage about once a year and try to find a good deal when it comes to the hotel. The Ramada turned out to be my best all-around hotel experience so far.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK Price and Location-On site parking a definite +"
1st night heat on full blast and unbearable-2nd night still hot but much better-3rd night ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is considerd downtown but its a good ways from everything else. Parking in free at the hotel most of the other hotels in downtown district charge. The room is average nothing special. My bed was really soft. The room was small so if there is more than one person you will be in each others space.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Best costumer service"
We stay for 4 weekdays. I was looking for a cheap hotel with a good rating, I found the Ramada, and is correct what the others said about the best costumer service. The shuttle service to the airport was great, the ladies who clean the room always helpful, the restaurant The Slippery Salmon (next to the hotel) was great for families the only thing that […] I didn’t like about the Hotel is that they offered free breakfast, but they only give you a voucher for three dollars discount for each day of our staying, that was $9.00 discount for our breakfast of $29.00, and one 10% discount dinner. We were three so our dinner with the discount was $28.00 the meals are great with reasonable prices, they also have a little bar. We also check the list of the hotels with bedbugs and Ramada was out of it, so it was a peace of mind. I will stay again in this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good downtown hotel"
Location, location, location. If you do not have a car and will be on foot, this hotel is in a good downtown location near the tourist area. Easy walk to restaurants, stores and attractions. If you do have a car, the parking is free. This is a nice middle of the road hotel. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The size of the rooms were fine and […] there was cable TV with quite a few channels. There was not breakfast on site but they gave out three dollar coupons for the "Slippery Salmon" next door. You could get a single "large" pancake for your three dollar coupon or 2 pancakes (what they called a stack) for five dollars. Other food was between six dollars and ten dollars. "All Around Wonderful!"
My husband and I picked this hotel based on it's location to 4th and 5th streets in Downtown Anchorage, which was where all of the events for Fur Rondy and the Iditarod were occuring. Fantastic customer service. All staff I encountered, from drivers to desk staff, etc. were super helpful, cheerful. Very pleasant and accommodating. "Good, not excellent!"
The Ramada is conveniently located, no parking charges which is a big plus. We stayed on the 3rd floor, back of hotel and the noise level was great, didn't interfere with my sleep. It isn't a 5 star hotel by any means, but I have stayed at 5 star hotels before and some of those weren't as good as the Ramada. So I guess it is just who is giving it the […] 5 star rating. The beds allow me to sleep without a back ache also which is a big plus. I have back problems and if the bed is bad, I can't sleep due to the pain in my back. The problem I have with hotels, and this is any hotel, I don't think they should put carpet in a hotel. It is so germ infested, and unless they are going to sanitize the carpet every time someone checks out of a room, the carpet should not be in there. The carpet in our room at the Ramada wasn't any worse than any other hotel, it is just that I don't like carpet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
