I stayed for three nights. Over all the place is a little run down but that comes with the price. If you stay there ask for a room on the upper floors they have totally redone the rooms up there so they have new bass and flat screen TVs. The bar attached to the hotel is very and is a nice place to eat.

The Anchorage Ramada is located within blocks of 2 of the city's homeless shelters. Scary neighborhood! Bathtub had large cracks along the outside and was missing pieces. Heater barely worked in room. Hotel had bad odor throughout the building. Usually Ramada hotel rooms are nice and worthy of recommendation. Would not recommend to anyone. Next time we travel to Anchorage, we will spend extra money to stay somewhere else.

We stayed here four nights. The room was great, very clean, always comfortable, never cold, and had a nice touch with a refrigerator and microwave. The room had a large, comfortable bed, lots of space to store our clothes and plenty of lighting. The hotel is very close to many of the downtown shopping areas and was an easy walk to get to them and also to watch the start of the Iditarod race which was one block away. There is a nice lobby area with a fireplace and the hotel has fun Moose & outdoor motifs that is tasteful and fun. Angela and the others at the front desk were very friendly and helpful with any questions or requests we had. The free shuttle service from the airport was convenient and the driver was very friendly and informative. We would definitely stay here again next time.

The room was clean, showers were hot, and the bed was comfortable. Not your high end Ramada, but with a mini fridge and microwave, plus a mini store in the main lobby, not a bad place to stay at all. Needs some major upgrades, but they have free parking which is a plus. Neighborhood feels a little dark, but  that could be due to the hotel having old carpet, bathroom vanity falling apart, and old style tv's. But overall I slept well.

I travel from rural Alaska to Anchorage often, and enjoy this hotel very much. It is near the 5th Ave. Mall and the Atwood Performance Center, as well as many other downtown locations. Would recommend.

Clean room. Close to downtown. A little noisy since we were next to the ice machine one night. Slippery Salmon bar/restaurant was excellent! Cooper, bartender, really made it fun.

In the Middle of downtown Anchorage. Great Price $67/night at the time. Food was close by. Rooms weren't the cleanest visually, but the room smelled nice. I found random long hairs (3 of them) through out the room, I hope they just belonged to housekeeping staff. Also i had a question. Why don't hotels put trash liners in their little room trash bins anymore? I just find it weird. Back to my review, Bathroom was clean (important to me) but a little run-down. Microwave and Fridge, Such a nice thing to have. TV was a bit small for the distance you were away from it, they had a 30" in there, while they needed a 42". The view from my room overlooked the rooftop of a restaurant named the "Slippery Salmon" I received a 5% off coupon from the staff upon check-in. The lobby was cozy. Small yet comfortable, providing it wasn't packed with touristy types. Their Shoppette was decently stocked, but they ran out of Coke during my stay (totally my fault). The Staff I have mixed feelings about. Overall service 4/5 but it was a largely Male oriented staff whom were not as cheery as the one female staffer I met. The guys there gave off a "Prison Guard" vibe. Downtown Anchorage seems to have an issue with drunkards roaming around, so I assume that has something to do with it. I actually met one of them. He made his way into the lobby, was unable to procure a room, so he left then passed out in the lobby of an adjacent building. Hope this helped you decide yay or nay.

If you are staying at Ramada in Anchorage this winter make sure to request room on the 3rd floor becaus the heating system is very old and very loud on the 1st and 2nd floor. As well if you are staying on a weekend you can expect loud intoxicated people.

Small but clean and comfortable room. Needs some renovations and upgrades. The heater in our room was on lowest setting but we needed to have the window open day and night (even in 30* weather). Fortunately, we were on the 3rd floor.

The location is not in a nice part of Anchorage at all. There was noisy people outside and inside the hotel and I didn't feel safe there. The people at the front desk weren't very friendly either. I went to another hotel the next night and paid more and it was worth paying more than staying at the Ramada. Sorry just being honest, I won't be staying there again.

Daylight around exterior doors allowed cold air to flow into the room constantly (23 degrees outside). Heating system outdated, inefficient, and noisy. Clean room. Nice to have fridge. Staff pleasant.

Let me preface this with the fact that I stay in a wide range of hotel/motel accommodations. I can easily overlook things and generally post positive reviews. However, this place is not only run down and dated, it is dirty as well. The heaters make loud noises, the toilet didn't flush, trains can be heard throughout the night ... not worth the money since there are so many really quaint places to stay both in and out of the city of Anchorage.

We choose the Ramada because we were coming in on the 8pm train from Fairbanks and they have a free shuttle. Kudos for the quick response time. Ditto for the shuttle to our rental car the next morning. The rest of the hotel experience was a bit disappointing. First off, when we walked up to the desk, they had no record of our reservation. The desk clerk looked at us like we were trying to pull something. A call to Hotels.com cleared that up but was disconcerting. What if it was high season and they were full? The hotel is a bit dingy and has obvious deferred maintenance. Our room was mostly clean and the bed was comfy enough, but the top of the baseboard heater had not been dusted in a long time. There was peeling paint in the bathroom and a towel rack that fell apart when you touched it. We appreciated the available guest laundry to do a couple of loads that evening, and the WiFi worked fine so we could surf while we waited for the laundry to finish. The desk gave us a 10% off certificate to the restaurant next door but we didn't use it so I have no comment on it. It really would be a long walk to get to any of the downtown area so it wouldn't suit for a longer stay but for one night stopover it was OK. We would probably pick somewhere else next time.

OK................Didn't get my 3AM wake up call but lucky I was awake as airplane leaves at 6.......................Got to airport on time so no problem..........Maybe my phone in room was turn off so didn't have ringer on................Room was warm all night and unable to turn heat down...Everything worked out and will stay their again next year when I visit Alaska.......

Quite disappointed. Shuttle driver, though friendly, was totally uninformed about restaurants in the area, and seemed mostly interested in talking about getting drunk with his friends at 3 AM. Bathroom sink fixture was broken, so that we could only get burning hot water out of the faucet. The handle pulled off if you tried to adjust the temperature.

This is a mediocre hotel way overpriced. In addition, its proximity to the reailroad tracks makes it noisy and uncomfortable. We were waken up at 6 am or earlier by the trains whistle! I would not go back and I believe this hotel is not worth more than $ 100 / day.

Stayed here instead of the ones the Cruises work with to avoid the seasonal mark-up. Fun Moose/outdoor motifs that are tasteful and fun, but not tacky. The area it is located at isn't much to look at, rather bland but I wouldn't say unsafe. I guess it's not far from the Tony Knowles coastal trail, which would be a plus for my book, but I didn't have the time to explore that further. Ministore at front desk for travel supplies or cheap eat-in-room foodstuffs. Free shuttle to the train station. Didn't feel like there was any a/c in the hallways, but there was in the rooms (how often does Alaska really need a/c anyway?) Number one reason to stay here is the discount to The Slippery Salmon! That's the name of the bar/restaurant around the corner. The restaurant looks like a tiny little dive, but had the best crablegs I've ever had in my life. I would stay here again.

It was a nightmare for 2 nights. We booked through expedia and were sent to the back of the building in 2 rooms that had no screens on the windows. We were hot with no air conditioning in either room in the middle of June. The train blows it whistle at about 3:10 am 4:10 am 6:10 am and a bunch of times at night also. The beds were comfortable and the shower is pretty good. Bring bug spray!
