We had to wait forever at the MIA airport to catch the shuttle and when he arrived, the ride to the hotel (which took about 20 mins) was scary. He was a terrible driver. The room was okay. We ate at the onsite restaurant and it was like a Swanson's frozen dinner reheated. We found a much better restaurant (off site) the next day. The ride to the airport in the morning was better. We had already booked at HoJos for our return and it was the same crazy shuttle driver. The first room smelled terrible but the staff was cool and moved us to a much nicer room. That didn't smell like cigarette smoke. A better shuttle ride in the morning but we'll never stay at another HoJos.

The Hotel when u enter is very nice. Everyone there speaks Spanish, so that's all u here. When u get to your room hallways stink like mildew, carpets are all stained. Hotel room is very old furniture was old and falling apart, was no end tables or chairs to sit in was not much furniture. also u could here everything and everyone in hotel, door u could see in hallway. Also if u want to go anywhere they do have a shuttle that will take u to mall or Wal-Mart, but there is only a few times then u have to wait six hrs. or more before they bring u back or u have to take taxi. If u need to use there computers, they don't have any, but they do use an outside provider which costs u 1 dollar for 10 min. and a dollar for every sheet u print. And it is not that close to airport. There drivers r never on time.

Stayed here over night due to a flight cancelation. Was able to have a drink & some food at the bar. It was good place just to stay for 1 night. Staff was very accommodating & helpful.

The hallways were dirty. The room itself was very old and the linen did not look very clean. If you need a cheap place to stay and you don't plan to be in your room much; this hotel may work for you. The hotel itself is very outdated and is in need of renovations and updating.

After being delayed due to inclement weather, I was hoping for a comfortable and restful stay at this HoJo but it was far from it. The rate per night was too high for the quality of service and cleanliness of our room. All the rooms smelled smoky, though I had a non-smoking room. It took too many calls to get an additional washcloth (eventually, my roomate went throughout the halls and found a cleaning person who gave her one). There was a large stain on the carpet in our room, one of the bed spreads had stains, the hallway carpeting looked and smelled rundown, and again, our non-smoking room smelled of smoke. This HoJo is about 25-30 minutes away from the airport without traffic. The morning shuttle left promptly at 8:00am; however, the night we were awaiting shuttle service from the airport to the hotel, we waited over 90 minutes. I wouldn't recommend this HoJo to anyone.

We chose this hotel because of its location near the airport, as we had a very early flight home. There was also a free shuttle service offered. This property looked "ok" upon arrival. Then I noticed how dilapidated everything was. Cracks in the walls, tile, furnishings, etc. It was not filthy, just very run down.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times in the past. Rates were good and so was cleanliness of rooms and friendly staff. During this visit, it can be seen that there is a clear need for upgrade to rooms . Also, although i stayed in a non-smoking room, the rooms smelt of smoke, maybe i didnt get the non-smoke room after all. If a few upgrades can be made, i would still recommend this hotel to friends. Additionally, staff didnt seem as friendly as in the past, maybe they were having a bad four days.

The hotel is listed as an "airport" hotel, but it´s actually quite far from the airport. For that matter, the Miami Beach hotels are also "airport" hotels. Everything is damaged in the hotel: the bathroom tiles, the showerhead, the sink, the carpet, the bed frames, the tv remote, the closet door, the safe, the lamps... need I go on? The noise from the highway is strong, and the single pane windows don´t help to abate it.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I was disturbed in my sleep and asked to leave the hotel in the middle of the night because of a management mistake. The lack of professionalism and courtesy was beyond imaginable. They turned my vacation into a nightmare!

I waited 1.20 min for the shuttle. Most of other hotel’s shuttles have a 20 min cycle. Furthermore, the driver did not get up to help people with their baggage. The hotel requires maintenance. Carpets need to be changed or cleaned properly. Fresh coat of paint is also required.

The stay was very good rooms were clean sheets and all very good. Hotel felt a little dated at far was furniture is concern felt like it was the late 90s but i only stood here a night i felt safe and comfy. It did its job. O ps bring your own food and water from somewhere else a bottle of water will run you about 2.50 in the hotel.

Our stay started badly. We arrived at the airport and immediately called the hotel to see if we needed to request a shuttle or if one routinely made the rounds. We were told the next shuttle would be there in about 45 minutes and to wait where we were. About 45 minutes later, the shuttle came and was - literally - the first shuttle to not stop at the pick-up spot. They blew by, so I immediately called the hotel, told them the driver passed us, and asked them to tell us where to go or have the driver circle back. They had the driver circle back, but he went by even faster on the second round. A call to the hotel and they told us the driver didn't see us, so we would have to wait another hour. A nearly 2-hour wait for a hotel/driver not doing their job was frustrating. The hotel check-in went fine. The hotel shows its age, but some fresh paint helps. The hallways to the rooms are downright creepy. Bad lighting, filthy carpet, and dinged up walls made me worry what we might find in our room. However the room was OK. Nothing special, but clean and comfortable enough. The hotel is several miles from the airport, but with the shuttle that wasn't much of a concern. It is one large block from a mall that will have plenty of food and shopping options. Extra shuttle tip: The hotel's airport shuttle does not run every hour, so you may want to call the hotel to see how their pickup schedule fits with your arrival or when planning your departure correctly.

IT WAS THE GREAT MISTAKE IN TAKING THE HOTEL'S PHONE ATTENDANT OFFER: a hotel close to the airport with free shuttle. Either it was close: we went 25 minutes in the Haialleah District, industrial neighbohood, with a terrible driver of the almost inexiting shuttle. To get in the hotel, it took us 2 hours waith at the Airport. The driver did not move from his sit, the people got stucked in the front of the bus and in fact, there was NO SHUTTLE AVAILABLE FOR THE AIRPORT DEPARTURE, since the service would be offered only after 6.00am and we need to be at the airport at 5:30am. All seemed like a scheme to get the guests, and then each one had to take care of their own business. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! WE DO NOT WISH SUCH NIGHTMARE TO NOBODY!!!

My husband and I stayed there in Room # 701 between Jan. 3 and Jan. 5, 2015. The hotel shuttle arrived to the Airport for us 1-1/2 hour half after we were waiting outside the airport. Our wheel chair assistants made reiterated phone calls to the hotel betweenr 6:00 and 6:20 AM; no one answered the # provided on my Expedia confirmation. We approached the front desk at 8:30 AM. The clerk was cold and unprofessional; I told her we wanted to check in. She said abruptly: "No check-in until 3:00 PM". I said: "Madam, we are seniors, I´m feelng sick (I had symptoms of flue) and we need a room ASAP, we´ll pay any extra required". The clerk: "I told you no check-in until 3:00 PM". I said: "This isn´t friendly. What do you suggest as we are exhausted and I´m feeling sick? What could we do?" The clerk: "You can do whatever you want, our check-in starts at 3:00 PM". I left very upset. My husband told me: " Do not be upset, let´s see what we can do." The clerk never offered us their breakfast area to relax and eat until 11:00 AM. We checked in at 3 PM. Their Room Service phone did not answer, the front desk told us they "would go there and ask them to call us". The cleaning employees were the kindnest, the rest were impersonal, they did empathize with the guests and we later observed they were the same way with other guests. The wi-fi did in our room did not function. This hotel is not representative o the U.S. hospitality industry, it´s a shame!!

Overall the condition of the rooms and common areas leave a lot to be desired with worn dirty carpets, ice machines that don't work and strong smell of cigarettes, even in non-smoking rooms. During our stay we found garbage piled up on the hallway,(broken boxes, plastic and bags)that remained there for a few hours, police activity when returning to the room in the evening. Anyway in my opinion there are much better choices to be made even for a budget conscious consumer.

Quite surprised after bad first impression about hotel ( free shuttle is scheduled hourly and depending tone of day every two hours to and from hotel. Driver didn't help with bags. Everyone that had a bag sat with their bag on the shuttle and I noticed that the back of the bus had an area with a net for bags). The entrance and receiving staff looked sharp and were very professional. The walls and carpets were dirty but, my room was quite nice and clean.

Filthy. I d did not stay. I called a cab and went to a different hotel. Hotel was overpriced ($165/night) for the value that it provided. Carpet was extremely dirty. No continental breakfast. Can you believe this that there were no bath towels in the bathroom, only small cleanup towels. Never had this experience before.

First, we were surprised that the hotel was so far from the airport, and that the shuttle ran only once an hour. We had to do a $40 taxi ride each way since the shuttle didn't start until after we needed to be at the airport. (Uber didn't have a car that was big enough to hold all our luggage). The "suite" was just a single room with barely enough room for the roll away bed. They did not have the room that we originally booked for three people but Expedia was helpful in fixing this problem, The hotel is louder than you would expect. I was concerned about security at the hotel when I found numbers flyers from pizza and Chinese restaurants stuffed under my door.

Dirty and old. Not recommended. Room smelled like an ash tray and was generally dirty.

It was a great first impression outside it looks good when checked in it was OK once I got into the room there where no towels in the room the bathtub was clogged up and dirty called the front desk for towels waited over 45 minutes no one brought them up went down to the front office and complaint and was told no manager available. It was very noisy and uncomfortable.

What experience? Worst ever, ladies that clean are so sweet and nice, the rest of the hotel is a 0 in my book.
