"Disgustingly Dirty, Rude & Unprofessional Staff"
Absolutely DISGUSTING. Dirty room. 'Renovation' apparently happened 10+ years ago. Furmiture falling apart and rooms badly planned. Mine had a sise table jamming the adjoining door closed. Tried to check out immediately and spent 3 hours being moved from room to dirty room, and arguing - yes he argued - with the Manager. Only to agree to one night cancellation […] - upon leaving the next day I had the same all over again with the new shift because the manager hadn't bothered to record our conversations. Stressful, unecessary, unprofessional, overinflated prices for a desperately tired and dirty hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the price of this hotel, you might expect something decent. Unfortunately, you would be very very wrong. Our room door did not close unless you put all of your weight into it. The trim along all of the counters was peeling up and warped. The door onto the balcony would only unlock/lock if you twisted the latch in just the right way, often taking […] almost a minute of fidgetting. The window did open, but dont try it in the summer or you'd be eaten alive since they couldn't be bothered to put a screen in it. And the room itself was miniscule. It had 2 double beds with less than a foot between them and less than a foot from either to the walls. No fridge! For over $200 per night once you include the ridiculously slow and unpleasant manditory valet parking, you would think that you would at least get the option to keep your take out cold for the next day. No movies were available to watch on the tiny tv so you had better know the area really well if you hope to have anything to do during your cramped and overpriced stay. "Friendly staff, convenient hotel shows its age"
Friendly staff, room was tight but clean, definitely an older hotel that shows its age though. The lobby was under renovations (not a big deal really) Parking was $18 a day, and getting in and out of their parkade with my pickup truck was pretty tight. Location was great for my work, only gripe was the phone in my room didn't work at all. Staff held […] my bags after checkout until I was done meetings for the day and I came to pick them up. "Great value for comfort and convenience"
Booking last minute, many hotels were sold out or had very high rates, and was a bit concerned about other negative reviews of Ramada Downtown in terms of noise and cleanliness of the hotel. However, while the lobby is dated, the hotel is clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the room was just fine. Not noisy (stayed over the weekend), new soft comforters […] and a fantastic mattress. The double room was big. The bathroom was clean with a decent sized tub. There was a small hole in the wall, but otherwise the room was well-maintained. Great value! "Good, not great."
Good overall, hotel itself needs renovationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We found the hotel quite satisfactory and the breakfast was very good .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was nice although we didn't feel that we got out money's worth when it came to the room. There was no microwave, mini fridge or even a bucket for ice. The room was very small with barely any room to move around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old but clean"
The hotel showed its age, but my room was clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing hotel in DT Calgary"
The rooms haven't been updated in a while. The smell of the room was not pleasing and there was a continuous buzzing sound throughout the night. I barely got 3 hours of sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not bad for the price in Calgary"
Basic hotel, older building with nicely decorated rooms, large TV, comfortable bed with lots of pillows. The temperature was fine during my stay but there is no individual room controls. It's a few blocks off the beaten entertainment path but I was walking to restaurants in 3 minutes and to the Hyatt in 10min. Hyatt rooms were $289/night and they were […] a little nicer with fridge & microwave which the Ramada did not have but I only paid $180/night . Overall not the nicest and newest Ramada around but I don't have any complaints. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Tired hotel and overpriced"
This hotel needs an update. The lobby is dark and dingy. The rooms could use an upgrade. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately I would not recommend this to coleaguesGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overpriced hotel downtown"
Highly overpriced, place looks old and badly furnished. Breakfast not included. Rug dirty, bathroom facilities old. The only highlight is the ubication.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hated looking out the window at another big bulding all the time the tv diddnt work the room stunk just not a nice place to stay over allGenuine Expedia guest review
"Late check in, very comfy"
Parking was a little bit of a hassle as we arrived after 1am and all parking options were slammed but the room was perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable price a bit frumpy"
Price was reasonable with a central location. Staff was really friendly and answered all our questions. Hotel itself is showing some age like drab decor in the lobby and little things like peeling wallpaper in the rooms and paint chipping that just make the room feel dated. Even though it was cleaned it feels a bit dirty with the maintenance issues […] . Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The cool 1960's exterior of this building is not being capitalized on at all. The interior public spaces look like they were decorated by a grandma in the 1990s. The room was clean, but the bathroom was very dated. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. The third floor rooftop pool could be a really nice space, but is just surrounded by […] concrete and some bits of cheap outdoor furniture. All of the suites on the front of the building on the third floor open directly onto the pool area with little privacy. There didn't seem to be many amenities around the hotel, and this neighborhood clears out at 5:00 when the workday is over for the surrounding business towers. "WHERE DO I PARK MY CAR?"
Parking is an issue at this hotel. There is valet parking at a cost of $18 per day on weekdays and $10 per day on weekends but there isn't enough space in the parking lot for all guests. I arrived at the hotel at 11:00 p.m. and was told the lot was full. I was told that I could park on the street or park at the public parking garage which is about a […] half a block from the hotel. I parked on the street the first night of my stay but had to get up earlier than I planned the next morning to feed the parking meter which is in effect starting at 9:00 a.m. This is a nice hotel in a good location (close to the centre of downtown) but I want anyone who reads this to be aware of the parking issue before you book the hotel. I'm not saying that you shouldn't stay here. I'm just saying that parking is an issue. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient location close to many restaurants"
Staff was very friendly. It was a little disappointing to pay $18.00 for a night if parking on a Sunday when there were not much around and shoos were closed.. The room eas Clean and comfortable but very warm as we found out the air conditioning was broken. Even though we left window open it was too warm.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Really loud guests on our floor"
The front desk clerk didn’t find my reservation immediately but did find it after a second look. The floor we stayed on was also the floor where a large number of party goers were yelling at each other before leaving to attend the dance party. The party goers in the room next to us also yelled at each other.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Central location, near to everything."
The hotel is located in the heart of Calgary Downtown, close to all amenities. We stayed twice with a break of two weeks, the latter stay during the stampede. Staff exceptionally helpful. Very comfortable rooms. Breakfast available on site.Genuine Expedia guest review
We wanted 3 days in Calgary to finish off our mini tour of Western Canada. The Ramada suited our price range and was well situated within easy reach, either walking or by c. train, to all the places that we wanted to visitGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is dated but was clean and my training was located on site. The location was good. Short walk to many places to eat and at noon on training day you could go outside and see a number of food trucks which was interesting. Short walk to the mall if that is your preference. Breakfast was good at the hotel and not unreasonably priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for what we wanted....."
Our stay was based round the Calgary stampede and we chose this hotel mainly for its location to Stampede Park. As there was a tram stop just outside the back of the hotel, it was in an ideal position for getting to the Stampede, especially as we were also in the free travel zone. The hotel is located on a street with plenty of bars & restaurants. The […] staff were friendly & helpful & check in/out was easy. The room was clean and fresh and the added bonus of having a balcony that overlooked the pool. Although we didn't use the pool it appeared popular. For us they also had a "Stampede Information booth" which provided all the information we needed to get there and what was on, so this was a major plus! The only downside was the cash machine which was situated in the lobby was not working during our stay, but there were 2 banks within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, so no big deal. Also loved the fact that the hotel allowed you to bring in food & drink - we ordered a takeaway from a local establishment & it was delivered directly to the hotel room door :-) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel was an easy walk to the event I was attending. Check in/out was easy and there were no hidden costs, although I didn't have a vehicle so I'm not sure if there was a charge for parking. The hotel is older but my room was clean and comfortableGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was fine. Within walking distance to some great places for dinner and breakfast. The meals at the hotel were very plain. The only complaint I have is that the hairdryer stops when it gets hot, which makes it very hard to blow dry your hair. Very close to the 7th Ave train. Very handy to the mall and great shops.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not what we expected"
Close to where we wanted to be in the city and price was good. It was not what we expected of a Ramada as it was very old and in need of renovations. It was a nuisance to ask valet for car all the time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"late arrival, missing breakfast pancakes"
we arrived at 1.30 in the morning little annoyed only enough tea/coffee etc for 1 drink and shocked to open the curtains to be looking on to someones computer in the offices across the road, at breakfast many selections were empty then filled after we had filled our plate, the waitress had the cheek to ask if we knew another couples name in the resturant […] because they were english as she had not given them their bill Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It was a room with a bed. Exactly what I wanted.................Genuine Expedia guest review
When we first got out of the elevator, the hallway smelt very old and musty. We asked for a queen but none were available - had 2 doubles. Would have been ok but were more like 2 large singles which was not at all comfortable for my 6 foot 2 inch husband. When we arrived we opened the curtains to find an office building next door. Not too concerning […] with the hotel being in the city. Curtains needed to remain closed - we were out during the day anyway. However office lights are left on at night and were blinding and so curtains needed to remain closed. Light emitted from edge of curtain which lit the room. Room was constantly dark. No natural light could be used either day or night. Bathroom although clean was tiny - had to squeeze to one side to close door to use the toilet. Wallpaper was peeling off. There was no safe or fridge in the room. This was the 5th and final hotel on our 3 week holiday and was the most disappointing. I would not stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to everything"
The hotel was clean. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The room was small and a bit dated, but worth the money. The room service staff and food were both excellent, our meal came in a timely fashion, was tastey and hot. The only thing that was disappointing was there was no fan in the bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Definitely a 4 star plus"
I have stayed in other calgary downtown area hotels with star rating of 3.5 this hotel is definitely superior. The hotel was quiet; the staff courteous and professional and very helpful. The hotel is upgraded and clean. The bed superior. I would rate this hotel a 4 star + any day. "Nice hotel but a little older."
This hotel is nice, it is a little older so it has smaller doorways in the room. The room I had was also overly warm, couldn't figure out how to turn on the a/c but does have one window that opens, but the window did not have a screen so we could have had flying visitors but did. Overall I would stay there again was clean and the staff were really friendly […] and had great valet parking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Less than what I expected"
Our stay was for three days and nights. Before we arrived, I received a call that our Executive Jacuzzi Suite/Room may not be available or that our Jacuzzi would not be working. I informed the person that I had booked this room for over a month in advance and had pre-paid so if it was not available I expected my money back with interest. Needless to […] say the room came through. However, for an executive room -- there was no mini bar fridge, and there were no in room snacks. When I requested a fridge - I was informed that there was no fridge available -- for our entire 3 days. Hmm. I also want to say that the water in the shower was difficult to control -- it went hot and the shower door had to be open to turn the shower on so water sprayed out. Overall out of 5 stars I would rate my room and stay a 2.5. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Walking distance to most of the good spots downtown. Great spot if you're partying with friends. Not the best spot for families. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is tired, and badly in need of serious renovation. that said, for its location and price, I'd struggle to recommend others. Somewhat of an oxymoron then!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location is everything for this hotel. Priced low"
Food was really bad, the waitress seen it on my face I didn't enjoy it and she never charged me so that was good service. bathroom is real small. I wouldn't stay here for a week. Ask for a Window facing the pool.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great downtown location."
It was great. Newer, comfy beds and the staff were very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything was ok, but there was no microwave and water heater for tea.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was my first visit to Calgary so I really didn't know the best place to stay. The hotel was fine. The lobby and restaurant are dark and a bit dated, as was the overall feel of the hotel. The beds were super comfortable though and it was in a convenient location for shopping and restaurants. I will say that the airport shuttle driver told me it […] wasn't a good idea to walk in the area and not knowing Calgary this made me very nervous. I arrived on a sunday evening at 6 pm and had difficulty finding somewhere to eat right away. The area was not very busy and with the shuttle driver's warning in my head I was nervous walking too far from the hotel at night. The next day however the area was bustling with activity and I felt perfectly safe. The hotel clerk said to just walk to Stephen's Avenue and there were lots of restaurants. Not overly helpful. I'm not sure I'd stay here again...I paid $159 plus tax per night and while hotels in the area are more expensive, I think they offer more in the way of restaurants and amenities as well as proximity to desirable resaturants and shopping. "Reasonable downtown hotel"
This hotel was close by the venue I needed to be at for meetings, so was picked for convenience. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. It was neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and the room appeared to have been updated in the last couple of years. Any of the staff that I had dealings with were friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Adequate alternative for Calgary convention stay"
Functional hotel; a short walk to convention centre and saved heaps on costs. Terrible parking situation. Limited parking and it was full on arrival. Spent 2 hours checking in and finding parking. Small pub on site with happy hour.Genuine Expedia guest review
"An okay hotel, but nothing fancy."
Wasn't my favourite hotel experience. Quite dated, could use a refit. At the risk of sounding Goldilocks, beds are far too short (am not that tall!) and pretty rickety. Works for somewhere to lay your head, but I wouldn't go for the "experience."Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, close to transit."
Clean room, friendly staff, reasonably priced restaurant, plus it's right downtown and very close to public transport. A goodeexperience for me.Genuine Expedia guest review
