First time staying at the Deluxe. All of the staff was incredibly professional, yet very friendly. Its within walking distance from the Pearl, but on a quiet street, so easy to access. The rooms are on the small side, but we didn't spend much time hanging out, so it wasn't an issue. We will definitely be back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location in downtown Portland"
This historic building is updated with modern amenities and is located within walking distance to everything downtown. It is also very close to bus/train stops to shorten the walks. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are super helpful/friendly. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice (Gracie's) and all meals were delicious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"gem in Portland"
We spent 3 nights at this Hotel and loved it. A quiet street close to downtown and the Pearl was the perfect location. The staff was extremely attentive. We loved the old Hollywood look and feel. the Driftwood Bar was perfection.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very comfortable. I love the robes! This hotel has character. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I will always be looking here for a place to stay when I'm in Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service, but room was just okay"
First thing you do is go up a flight of stairs and wasn't a good first impression as they needed cleaned. The hotel is done in old Hollywood style. The room was very small and bathroom extremely small. It was clean, but after lobby carpeting I was leary. I like things nice and it bugged me that the headboard, paint and drapes all clash. For the price […] I can stay in a nicer hotel downtown and will next time. The service and people were great though. It is a easy walk if your going to a Portland Timbers game. Lovely hotel, conviently located with a terrific cocktail lounge.Genuine Expedia guest review
Fantastic. Love the ambience of the hotel. Gives you a feeling of early 1940's Hollywood with the decor and music playing.Genuine Expedia guest review
i stayed at this hotel for 5 days.. it was lovely. Parking is expensive at $25/day (you can use garage and enter in and out seamlessly when they activate your room key, which is what I did. Or you can park across the street in the lot which is valet only, or you can go on the cheap and park on the street if you want to live like a college student and […] move your car day and night to avoid a ticket. BUT thats the price you pay to stay downtown Portland! Its a great city and worth it, I just hadnt been prepared for that charge but thats what you get for a great location. I could walk to anything I needed. staff was very attentive, they even lent me a luggage scale as i had purchased way too many things while I was in town and didnt want to get charged for a heavy bag. The little business center (2 computers and a printer) helped out in a pinch as i had some paperwork pop up that needed attention. Wi fi was free with my expedia deal which is cool. I spent a few hours in the comfortable lobby with my ipad rathr than bing alone in my room and it was very pleasant. They had several parties while i was there in th room off of the lobby's - people dressed up to the nines. Also liked the marble in the nicely done bathrooms; simple but super clean and a little of european sohistication Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had a lovely weekend at this hotel and in Portland. As requested, we were in a quiet room. Staff was helpful. Location was excellent. We would come back. And I will recommend to friends.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful maintained old hitel"
Probably the best customer service I have encountered. This was a very busy weekend downtown, Hotel DeLuxe wasn't our first choice, but it fit the bill fine. Centrally located so a short walk to Northwest, the Pearl, or downtown. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was fabulous! Unfortunately there were no movies scheduled for the screen room, but […] a few blocks away is the Living Room Theatre where we were able to grab snacks and a glass of wine while watching a movie. I would certainly consider staying here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff was great. Especially Terri at the front desk. The room was small but nice. Overall a great experience. The driftwood bar has great drinks and service.Genuine Expedia guest review
I really loved this hotel, especially because of the staff. They did more than I expected as far as making sure we were as comfortable as possible. The decor, comfort, cleanliness and close proximity to attractions were great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not far off the beaten path"
Hotel staff could not help me to find a UPS drop box, I found that very unhelpful considering the rate we paid for our room in a "luxury" hotel. Room was small but LOVELY. Otherwise service was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, free Internet would be a nice addition given cost of roomGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel with great service and character. Maybe it's just the people of Portland but whatever. Several great Portland districts within easy walking/stumbling distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel"
We were upgraded for my boyfriend's birthday! It was totally unexpected. The hotel has a Marilyn Monroe/ Elizabeth Taylor era movie theme with beautiful photos hung throughout. It is old, but perfectly maintained. The room was beautiful with a nice city viewGenuine Expedia guest review
"So glad we found this hotel"
This is a beautiful gem of a hotel. It has old features which have been carefully preserved and was very elegant and comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and lounge for late night. The location is in a quiet residential area and we were able to walk to any downtown Portland destinations we wanted to visit safely.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Hotel deLuxe, a Provenance Hotel I apologize that your accommodations were not what you expected; as an historic property, some of our rooms are configured a little differently than others. I hope that when you return to Portland you will consider the Hotel deLuxe and allow us to find a room that better suits your needs.
"Lovely hotel, rooms on the smaller side"
This hotel and it's staff were lovely. The staff is among the friendliest I've ever encountered. Wonderful touches throughout our stay including the 4am coffee ready for us when we checked out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old Hollywood Glamour"
We loved our stay here. They sent us complimentary champagne when they found out it was our wedding anniversary, which was such a nice gesture. The room was small but cozy. The decor is beautiful - classic Hollywood with mirrored furniture, chandeliers and plush furniture. Another great perk was the Driftwood Bar and Gracie's restaurant downstairs. […] They also have a mini theater with tubs of popcorn that was screening an old Hitchcock movie. The hotel is also conveniently located so you can walk to the shops or take the MAX rail to wherever. "Lovely Attention to Detail"
The Hotel deLuxe in Portland is a gem. The location is perfect - blocks from downtown and right between two light rail lines. "Yes with reservations."
Terrible view: second floor corner looking out at garbage filled roof. Small room, high ceiling, but the bed was comfortable. I would ask for a room with an outside view.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed at the Deluxe for the second time. Staff at the hotel are second to nobody, they r always friendly and helpful. Rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Bathrooms is the only short coming. Very, very tiny, only a small shelf for toiletries, not at all useful for a woman.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed our stay in Portland. Room was a little small but other than that it was an Enjoyable stayGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice Hotel and Staff overall. The only reason I gave the facilities and comfort a 3 was because of my room position. I stayed in 801 which is next to the elevator. Its loud enough to be distracting...you hear it all night so it was a bit hard for me to sleep. Otherwise I was well please with everything else, great staff!Genuine Expedia guest review
"great gem of a hotel"
I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent service from the entire hotel crew and probably one of the most comfortable bed/pillows I can recall from a hotel. Worth checking out if you are in Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved this hotel!"
This is our third trip to Portland in less than a year and the first time we've stayed at this hotel. For us, the location was perfect; close to downtown, but without the traffic and noise. Within walking distance of the Pearl District and close to the excellent public transportation for longer trips. Excellent service with friendly and knowledgeable […] staff, and a very comfortable bed. This will become our go-to hotel for future trips to Portland! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great staff and downtown location."
Staff is very responsive to my questions and needs. Rooms kept up very well. Room service was fast and people friendly. Themed hotel geared to classic films. Wish they had TCM as an available channel on TV. Parking is just across the street but cost 25 Dollars a day. I stayed 5 days. Hotel is very close to where I was working so I could come back to […] my room during lunch breaks. The weather in April is varied from sunny to super rain showers. I carried my umbrella around and needed it making my walks even in heavy downpours quite pleasant. Restaurant is upscale with attentive staff. I enjoyed their desert and coffee both of which were excellent. Would have enjoyed dinner there but I was not able to take advantage of this desirable option. Maybe next time. Cool film set backdrop, helpful staff, if you need to rent a car, you need to do it on your own, but they will book your airport transportation. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbor does.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel in a great location"
We had a very nice stay at Hotel deLuxe. The staff was helpful and friendly. There were so many activities in walking distance of the hotel as well. I only had 2 minor problems with the hotel. The room was very small, almost a bit cramped. However, the majority of the stay we did not stay in the hotel so it was not a major concern. Also, due to flight […] delays, we did not arrive until 2 AM, and the room they gave us did not really have a view. It was just facing a brick wall. Like I said, we did not stay in the hotel much so it was not a big deal. The decor is nice, a bit fancy. It is worth a stay for the location. I would return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was in Portland for a couple of days for a conference. the staff at Hotel De Luxe allowed me to check in early, and gave me great recommendations on where to eat and what to do until my meetings started. the front desk staff went over and above on getting me detailed bus and train routes to everywhere I went. they made my stay fun, and exciting, yet […] comfortable. "I could have eaten off the floor!"
I spent a very comfortable three days at the Hotel deLuxe in March, 2014. I chose this hotel based on its Trip Advisor ratings, and I was not disappointed. The staff -- from front desk and waiters to housekeeping and doormen -- was friendly and professional -- always a smile and a kind word. My room was a king room on a corner -- large, comfortable, […] and probably the cleanest hotel room I have ever slept in -- I really did think that I could have eaten off the bathroom floor. I was on the third floor and could hear some traffic noise (including the train), but nothing that kept me up at night. The food (I ate both breakfast and lunch there) was delicious and reasonably priced. I appreciated the free in-room wireless internet and the business desk in my room, as I was in Portland for a conference. Finally, the hotel was a three-minute walk to the red line of the train, so the location was convenient to everywhere I needed to be (it was about a 20 minute ride to the convention center). If I ever return to Portland, I will definitely stay at the Hotel deLuxe again. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not as Expected"
Originally booked as deal from $329 to $149. That room has never been over $150. Pictures of room taken to make the room larger than actual size. Sitting on toilet my shoulders touched both walls and TP holder was in my lap. Asked about restaurant upon checking in, not told we needed reservation or the wait time would be 1.5 hours. Told we could order […] dinner and eat in lobby at a 12 by 12 cocktail table. Mentioned this to the check in and they looked as us with no comment. Valet parking was directly across the street in the unsecured restaurant lot. On a positive side the hotel is very nice and great movie theme. Second night, Bar service was excellent although the bar was small and very dark. Good service in restaurant and very good food. No shopping around hotel and only one other restaurant with walking distance. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outside better than the inside"

"Nice Hotel; Better with a Discount"
While attending a conference in Portland, I stayed at the deLuxe to save a few bucks rather than stay at the official conference hotel. Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Location a bit away from main drag, but only a couple of blocks from tram station. Nice old movie motif with lots of period movie star photos everywhere. A couple of negatives: bathroom […] lighting poor: need higher wattage bulbs. Also, they charge extra to use the hotel's public computers. It costs an extra $5.95 for 15 minutes of computer time, and you don't get a refund if all you need it for is to check-in and print your airline boarding passes. Also, rates are too pricey unless you have a discount (as I did through hotels.com). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Warm, friendly staff, highly polished renovation"
Terrific. Can't get over how kind and helpful the staff was, and the art deco renovation of what used to be the Mallory hotel was very well done. There's a screening room now with big screen classic movies, stylish retro lobby and dining area (food's very good), the rooms are small but nicely furnished and exceptionally clean. Met several people there […] who stay here regularly when they visit Portland, and based on our stay at what is now called the Hotel Deluxe, I think we have joined that group. Definitely worth staying there. Of course all of downtown Portland is within walking distance. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A get away... with no plans! Great trip."
We really liked the hotel and the ambiance. Great staff. With regards to the room, we requested a king size bed but did not need the over sized dresser or desk. Would have preferred a night stand with lamp on both sides of the bed for reading. Some kind of table or shelving would have been helpful in the corner of the bathroom for toiletries and our […] clothes. Just suggestions.... Location worked out great. We walked everywhere. We really liked the staff, history and decor of the lobby. We would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
