The hotel is near the train station and a few minute walk from the Altstadt witch is good. If you have kids, it may not be the best choice as there are many adult themed shops in the area. noise can be heard when the lift door is opened and bangs on the wall or when people is walking up and down the stairs. crowd was rather noisy. but hotel staff was pretty helpful as I was late for breakfast and still allow me to have it.

They put us on the 7th floor and then told us the lift was broken for our entire stay. The last two floors had burned out lightbulbs so we had to trek up the final two flights in the dark. Just returned from a 6 night stay at the Centrum while on business in Dusseldorf. Under the circumstances (extremely high hotel prices during tradeshows at the Messe) I was quite happy with the service, comfort and location. Walking distance to "Old Town" and many great restaurants right near the hotel.

Arrived at 2pm and was able to check in without difficulty; young lady at reception was polite and spoke English. I had requested a room on a high floor (I believe the hotel has 5 floors), though I was given one (of 2, rooms 18 and 19) on a landing adjacent to the 1st floor. The room was inaccessible via the lift - one has to go the 1st floor, then […] down a short flight of stairs and up another (doubly annoying, as hotel did not appear to be anywhere near full – judging from the lobby and the breakfast room over the period of my stay). The minibar had been removed from the desk within which it once sat, meaning I had no fridge in the room. About an hour after arriving, the electricity to my room cut out and was not restored for about an hour. The wireless internet did not work for the 1st day of my stay and when it was back up and running the next day, it was so slow that I could not even send an email. Furthermore, the computer available for guest use at reception had lightening speed internet (though no printing facilities), so why the wireless was so bad is puzzling. Rooms did not have any ‘Do Not Disturb’ door hangers, so I was bothered by up to 3 knocks on the door when I chose to stay in bed until 11am a couple of mornings. On the day I was leaving, I was able to deposit my luggage at reception for free – though, when I returned to retrieve my bags, I was told there was no bathroom I could use, as the hotel did not have any such facilities for guests outside of rooms. I stayed here for one night in July. The hotel is in desperate need of a makeover as the room was very dated, although it was clean. I can't really complain due to the price I paid which included a basic breakfast and importantly free wifi, which is a big hit from the plaza hotel, as many superior hotels do not offer this. This is a terrible and grossly overpriced hotel. The rooms are dingy, small, and lack even the most basic amenities: no telephone, no desk. The cable in my room was not working, and the shower was broken. The walls, to add to the joy, are paper thin. The breakfast was also, by German standards, utterly forgettable.

10 minutes walk to dusseldorf hbf station. standard room with no fancy service. can hear people talking on corridor. breakfast available every morning but no warm food sadly. i think it is a good enough hotel just to take shower and go to bed by oneself. i can stay this hotel again with no hesitation.

Das Hotel ist alt! Das Zimmer nicht gereinigt, kein Schrank im Zimmer, der Duschkopf völlig defekt, die Gardinen hätten eher zu einem heruntergekommenen Kleingarten gepaßt. Dafür war das Frühstück ganz o.K.! Die Lage direkt am Bahnhof ist nur dann gut wenn man nicht in die Altstadt will. Ansonsten sollte man auf Öffentliche zurückgreifen.
