Stayed there for 3 nights with my daughters. Rooms were spacious and staff were very friendly. Took a few calls to get towels and sometimes when you would call to the front desk you would never get what you requested. Even with this small issue. . We rented a car and traveled to Clearwater beach. .that was actually a bonus. We saw Winter from Dolphin Tails. Kids loved it. We traveled from San Diego to Winter Haven, Florida for Thanksgiving and spent a week with my wife's entire family. Great people, great fun, with lots going on. I would have to agree with previous reviews regarding this hotel being in need of some serious renovation. I would have thought for the price, the rooms would have been more on the upscale side. As previously posted, the walls in the room are rather thin and there was an odor in the room and the hall leading to the room. The wallpaper in the bathroom […] was pealing away. In fairness, I did not have an opportunity to view the entire property due to my only staying one night. The view overlooking the bay and the pool was a nice touch to the stay though. The staff in the restaurant was very nice especially George. The staff member upon check-in was very nice as well. I don't recall her name. I particularly liked the complimentary cookies she offered me. I'm still thinking about those cookies even as I write. Would I stay here in the future.....Yes, I would. I just hope those that read my review and that are in a position to make the much needed renovations will consider my post and that of other hotel guests and move towards making that a reality. Those renovations would make staying at your hotel more enjoyable as well as memorable. Read more

The staff was very nice. The restaurant was closed when I went there to eat on a Sat. eve. Other times I saw no one dining. I went to Bahama Breeze. One would think that they would want to promote their own eating establishment. Allthough the rooms are updated and very spacious, the hallways are very dated and tacky in a 1960s palm tree kind of way. […] Drawback is pool was outside and I did not use as weather was chilly when I was there. Workout room is kind of lame. In the middle of the night, fire alarm went off for no reason. Free shuttle service does not start until 6a. Not good if your flight leaves at 6a. Overall, I thought the hotel was very nice and the staff exceptionally pleasant, especially the front desk personnel. The breakfast buffet was certainly adequate and worth the money. MY only complaint was that we needed to use the pull out couch and the blanet we found in the closet in the plastic bag was dirty, had holes and smelled horrible, so needless […] to say we were unable to use it. In addition, one of the double beds in the bedroom had sand in it and my son said he felt sand all the way down to the bottom. Not sure if these sheets had been changed from the last occupants. This hotel looked a bit on the older side, but it was clean and well kept. The staff was very helpful, and we used the shuttle quite a lot. That was super handy. They also had great recommendations for things to do and were well located. We enjoyed sitting by the bay in the evening.

The staff was great and made us feel welcome. Our stay was for 3 nights and the only complaint I have would be that the cleaning of our room everyday wasn't good. That needs work, but staff and hotel was great. I would recommend and stay again!!

The views of Old Tampa Bay are gorgeous, make sure to book a "bayview" room. Good price. The hotel itself is dated and could use more updating. Room service was mediocre. But a beautiful setting in a quiet neighborhood at a goid price.

Purchased a KING suite, and even called to confirm reservation and room type. Upon arrival, they no longer had any King's, so I was downgraded to a Queen. Would'nt be a big deal, but the receptionist was extremely rude and tried to tell me that was hotel.com's fault and I should'nt care anywyas as it's not a "downgrade." Staff very friendly. Drink prices at the bar extremely expensive. Dated rooms, and no air conditioning in the hallways. Make it easy on yourselves, go to Ikea and get some modern furniture at a decent price.

The power went out 3 different times. Once when we almost were getting into the elevator. So we walked up 6 floors. Then while in the room watching a football game it went off and did not come back on for 20 mins. It got hot in the rooms. Then it went out for the 3rd time etc. Not too of a pleasing experience.
