I was very happy with my stay at the Travelodge Fisherman's Wharf. It was a Travelodge so the rooms aren't anything special, but my room was clean and comfortable. Both the front desk clerks I met during my stay were very friendly and helpful. I was happy with the location, walked to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner. However, the room was nasty. Dust caked on the fan. Broken, mismatched furniture. Stale smell. Handprints above the bed, wonder what was going on there.... And the shouting from the men outside in the middle of the night, for what seemed like, hours, was out of control. The room was dingy and poorly maintained. The toilet paper holder had browken off in the bathroom, the curtains on the window were ripped, there was what appeared to be mold on the ceiling. The room was dark with one light on the far wall that was dim. The heater didn't work so we had to change rooms and the staff told us that it did work. Made me feel like I wasn't telling the truth. The new room had the same dark feel. Old bedspreads, stained carpets and old furniture. The drawers didn't close because they were broken. The shower didn't have a place to up your soap or shampoo and I didn't want to place it on the shower floor, so I used the toilet tank. I prepaid for 2 nights but left after 1 night. where to begin when listing the problems with this place? lets start with the fact that you are charged 15 dollars a DAY to park at the hotel that you are stay at on top of the room charges. the price of the room was way to high for what you get. inside the room.. you get a space heater for heat and a fan for a/c neither of which are big enough to do […] the job. we had the space heater on for over 4 hours before the room even began to feel warm and that was with the bathroom door closed. the dresser in the room was broken, the window curtains didnt cover the whole window. we were on the first floor and anyone walking by could see into our room. the threshold strip that holds down the carpet into the bathroom 2 screws were about half an inch up the bottom of the bathroom door scraped them every time it opened or closed. the bathroom itself was not to bad if you are a person in a wheelchair the shower would accommodate you the shower stall itself was not installed properly for water drainage. when you showered the whole bathroom floor was wet no way to keep the water inside the shower stall. there is no where in the bathroom to set your shower bag besides the edge of the sink or the toilet seat lid. this a hotel i regret staying at and will never stay there again it was cheaper than the other hotels in the area but we would have paid the extra to stay at another hotel knowing what we know now. The folks a the check in were nice enough, and this is a real bargain right downtown. If you are OK with youth-hostel level quality, then this could be right for you. The room seemed clean enough, but it just had that sad old building smell. Airing out the room did not help. If you can afford to pay more, then you should.

This hotel was in very poor shape I had five holes in my wall and then patched up but they have not been paid over. There was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. The TV was over 20 years old and had poor reception. The staff was nice.

My friends and I planned a two day trip to San Francisco and we wanted to find a cheap place where we could spend the night. The hotel itself is pretty small and quite old, but it is located minutes away from the Fisherman's Wharf and the cable cars so that was great. There's also a nice Walgreens across the street. It seemed to be a safe area too, […] somewhat busy and full of transportation. Our room had a great view of the San Fran architecture, including the Coit Tower and the Transamerica Pyramid. The hotel staff was very friendly, and our stay included a free breakfast of muffins, fruit, orange juice and coffee. Parking was $15 a day, and was not included in the price of the room. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anybody who is on a budget taking a road trip to San Fran. Read more

They don't tell you that parking is an extra $15 + if you leave there is a chance you will lose your spot. 24 rooms 12 parking spaces. Manager did make an attempt to monitor who parks there.

Very close to fishermans wharf which is awesome if its your first time to SF. Fisherman's wharf closes down fairly early (about 8-9pm) so your stuck with either a 24hr denny's, mcdonalds, burger king or in n out. The hotel walls are a bit thin so you can hear your neighbors. TV has a ton of channels. Parking area is a bit small, but is definitely a […] luxury in San Fran. Odd design with maybe 10 rooms on each floor for a total of 3-4 floors. I dont recall seeing an elevator although i was fortunate to get a room on the 1st floor. A bit far away from downtown SF. The hotel greeted me with "No parking available". I was shocked. The next problem - everything in the room is worn-out (towels, sheets e.t.c.). It is located on a busy street and the noise was very loud - soundproofing of this Travelodge is awful. Spend a little more and you will not regret it.

First, the motel was in an excellent location. Very central to the Fisherman's Wharf and Russian Hill areas. In addition to that, it is 1 to 2 blocks down from the best bars that we found in the area so that's always a plus when it's not a family vacation! For the price, we couldn't beat it -- although it was a bit much because we didn't realize it […] was fleet week when we booked our trip. The downsides? I don't think I'd recommend staying in the summer. Our room was equipped with a nice box fan instead of air conditioning and it's a pretty busy area even at night. If you have a hard time sleeping with noise or light you'd be best off looking elsewhere. The room was clean-ish but very dated and there weren't much, if any, amenities. Overall I'd recommend it if you're not planning on being in the room much, want something central, and don't want to pay 3x to 4x the price at the surrounding hotels. Read more

THis place was just purchased by travelodge and just was remodeled. Its location is perfect for fisherman's wharf. Staff was new but friendly. Place is small and they charge for parking which is weird because there is no extra spots for the public so the price should be included in normal price.

I read a lot of bad reviews that almost scared me off, but you have to take this place in perspective. If you are looking for a 4 star hotel, look elsewhere. If you looking for a place to sleep that's clean, reasonably comfortable, easy walking distance to fisherman's wharf, and priced less than other hotels in the immediate area, this may work well […] for you. The person at the main desk was very friendly and helpful. Some things are a little dated but what I noticed most was poor workmanship on how fixtures like lamps, TP dispensor, etc. were mounted. Even the bathroom doorlatch was mounted backwards. Amenities are minimal, no access to alarm clock, microwave, AC, etc. The TV worked well though. At the end of the day the negatives really didn't matter much, I'd rather have the money in my pocket. Saw a lot of staff actively cleaning up the place. I spent 3 nights in the Travelodge Fishermans Wharf and got what I was expecting. If you can deal with being in an outdated Motel for a few nights, the location is worth the price. The staff was extremely helpful allowing us to leave our bags at the front office for 6+ hours on check in and check out days as we had early/late flights. The rooms were […] nothing special, but served its purpose. The bathrooms were updated and very nice, but the rest of the room could be updated. Continental breakfast included Coffee, Waters, OJ, fresh bananas, packaged blue berry muffins and gronola bars. Less than a 5 minute walk to Fishermans Wharf, Lombard Street, North Beach. Close to Coit Tower and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which we found to be very convienent. The Muni system is very easy to use (especially with Google Maps). Cost only $2 a ride and you can get a transfer which lasts for 4-5 hours. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, then the Travelodge is not for you. If you are looking for a cheap place in an amazing location, then theres no reason not to stay here. Read more
