I stayed in the newer West wing and actually the room was nice, a few water stains here and there but it's not the newest room either so no harm. What was really bad was the bed, all t hree nights I stayed I had a bad night sleep, one night I woke up and thought I was on the floor because it was so hard. I guess I wouldn't complain if the place didn't feel like a really fancy 2 star hotel.

We waited over 20 minutes to get Valet service for our car. Upon Check-In, we were told we would have additional charges to our bill for a Resort Fee. This fee should have been included in the pre-paid reservations. This Hotel is humungous! There is very little staff at the front desks and none to guide you to the correct elevator to get to your room. The elevator ride is scary. Hold on to the rails for safety. It took us 15 minutes to walk to our room. The room was average and NOT what you see on the website. When calling for Room Service we were told it would take 50 minutes to get soup delivered. Of course we declined. We called Valet to retrieve some items left in our car and we were told, we needed to return to the Valet and retrieve them ourselves. We did not receive Maid Service until 8PM the next day. The Concierge never answered the phones. There was a long wait for Taxi service. It was utterly rediculous. I will NEVER stay at the Luxor again. It's unfortunate becuase the location and surrounding amenities were great. But the hotel service itself was horrible.

What a mistake staying here. I thought it would be fun to try different hotels on the strip.....I guess you get what you pay for. The lobby and downstairs are nice but the room was very outdated. I stayed in a "suite" but there was nothing sweet about it. There were two bags of garbage outside the door upon my arrival and still there when I departed. I can't believe this hotel has almost four stars. I won't be coming back. On a side note I slept well that night.

The Luxor is a very unusual hotel with its pyramid design. The room was above average in size and the beds very comfortable. We stayed on the side facing Mandalay Bay Hotel and it was a beautiful hotel to look at both day and night. The casino area was roomy and not too smoky. There's easy walking access to neighboring hotels along with a raised rail shuttle. A little maintenance could be used in the bathroom where water from the shower caused the wallpaper to peel at the bottom. Also only two bottles of water were provided even though three guests were in the room. I would think the $10.00 "resort fee" could include a bottle for each guest, but they said two was all they would provide. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay.

We where very surprised how run down the Luxor is. The beds where form the 80's. When we confronted them about it there was no effort what so ever to fix the problem. The beds where so worn out you could hardly even stay in them without rolling out. You would think as much money as they make they would replace mattresses every now and then. And the furniture is very torn up as well. Just overall not what i expected from a SPA Suite at a premier resort in Vegas.

The rooms were resonable price on Hotels .com. I'm use to seeing the prices over sky high because of its title, but this time it was reasonable so we had to stay. The rooms were Ok but they need to update all the rooms not just some. The ones that were updated were smaller and they didn't even have new mattresses. Honestly you to want to stay in the older rooms because there bigger and you get more for your money. The restrooms and the beds are the same on the older & remodeled rooms. The area was great and so was the atmosphere. It's also next to great casinos that are walking distance. We ate and enjoyed the entertainment at the Cathouse lounge and there was enough to do without wanting to go anywere eles. Overall rating for all rooms encluding the suite w/whirlpool is a 2, cleaness 4, and entertainment 5. All rooms need to be updated the only thing nice was the restroom. Even there towels were old.

Definitely worth the weekday rates- weekends can get pretty pricey. Although it is located waaaaay on the south end of the strip, there is plenty to do in the hotel itself, and in the 5 or 6 nearest hotels, as well. Riding up the "inclinator" (the diagonal-moving elevator in the pyramid) is a little nauseating, and I wouldn't recommend it after a night of partying. Although the rooms are located in the same open-air space as the casino and clubs, there was no problem with noise in the room, and the curtains blocked out the light well.

It had been 10 years since the last time I was at the Luxor. The hallway and guest room I was exposed to on this trip didn't look like any improvements or upkeep had been made to the property since the last time I was there. Admittedly, I selected the hotel because of the "deal" but I still expected a room that wasn't so dark, dreary, musty-smelling, and which had a door with a peephole where you could see who stood on the other side. To their credit, when I complained about the condition of the room and why I was leaving after being there less than 2 hours, the hotel agreed not to charge me for the second day of my reservation. I think they shouldn't be charging anyone to stay there until they renovate the rooms, but I will give them credit for agreeing to refund a portion of my prepaid reservation without any resistance.
