"2 nights in a pyramid"
1st time in Vegas so nothing else to compare with the Luxor. Room was good, v clean altho shower had no power to it (probably to reduce water use). They don't give you a mini fridge or even a coffeemaker so you have to venture out and pay for EVERYTHING. Main gripe is the long line to check in so do self check-out using the envelopes provided near the […] elevators. Oh, the elevators go up at an angle of 39 degrees so they feel a bit wobbly - don't worry as it's normal. I'm not a gambler but there's plenty of bars, restaurants and shops within the complex and in the two either side to keep one amused. The service in the bars was not great to put it mildly - guess they have to deal with a lot of a**holes. Also the drinks options were limited and in Public they didn't even know what they had - said they had no Dos Equis or white wine when I could clearly see they did. I was there 2 night with my friend It is good experience and feel very comfortable with kind service. Only one thing is wi-fi service in 1st floor abailableGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Well it rained and the water was leaking from the ceiling by the window which in turned got the carpet wet. It must happen a lot when it rains since I saw a machine in the hall wall that the cleaning crew must use to soak up the water.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Some general repairs needed."
Overall it is a decent hotel, especially for being on the strip. The bed was very soft and comfortable and it was quiet, despite being in a pyramid room. The walkway to the room displays the much needed cosmetic maintenance needed on this aging property. Wall panels are peeling off. There was a nice view of the "behind the scenes" walkway and bathrooms […] of the food court and you could see the dust and debris collected on the roof of another interior structure. Also, we didn't even know they had a buffet on the lower level until we left. That was probably our fault, but would have been nice to know or have some direction instead of the sub-par food court. There are 3 Starbucks in this hotel as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very Nice. Just what I expected"
The hotel was just as I expected. Although this hotel is a little older, compared to a lot of others, this was once the shining star of the strip (no pun intended), and so much of that reputation and history still fills the air. The room was quite comfortable, especially since they were able to put us in a king room, at check-in. We were on a low floor, […] however, and right next to the elevator, which was a little noisy, but not too bad. Overall, this is a very nice hotel, and I would recommend it and/or stay here, again. "Hotel is in a time warp"
The hotel is very outdated with the hallways on the way to my room all scratched up and smelly. I never imagined that a hotel on the Las Vegas strip would be in these conditions. I always imagined that the Luxor was better quality, until I stayed there this week. Everything was extremely outdated, I would have felt better in a Motel 6. Definitively […] would never recommend it. Room service took over an hour and a half to arrive to my room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My boyfriend and I have been planning this trip for the past few months. We were looking for a great midweek price. It was awesome! The pyramid suite was nice and cozy, a little outdated but still very nice. we were away from the crowds in our our corner of the pyramid which was very nice. Overall our experience was great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good value for location"
room was ready on arrival - staff was pleasant and welcoming. able to get rooms near each other, as we were two groups traveling together. great time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Like all of the major STRIP CASINO HOTELS, the LUXOR is dripping in glitz and ersatz glamour. That makes it fun even for us non-gamblers. The room was large and clean and hip Egyptian with a nice view of the shimmering Mandaly Bay. We enjoyed a convenienty shoPping trip in the upscale mall between the two hotels. One VERY ANNOYING SUPRISE came at check […] in when we were required to pay an unexpected resort fee which was not disclosed at the time of booking. I would much rather be quoted the ENTIRE actual price, which was still VERY REASONABLE, UNDER 100 DOLLARS, EVEN WITH ALL TAXES, for 1 midweek night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for what I was looking for."
We have stayed at Mandalay Bay for part of our last two trips to Vegas in this last year. During that time we spent a lot of time at the Luxor's bars, sports book, restaurants, poker room, etc - but have never stayed there. We liked everything that the Luxor had to offer - real cool looking hotel and casino. We stayed the first 3 nights of this trip […] at the Mirage (great location - center of the strip). Then on Sunday I ran in my first ever full marathon on the Vegas strip - no way after that pain was I going to fly cross country back home the next day. So we gave the Luxor a try for a couple nights... 1) Price we got was amazing 2) Everyone at the Luxor was GREAT again 3) Room was big. Only negative that I would say is the room was a little bit older and out dated (no mini bar, bathroom was older, etc). But I feel unless you are in a suite in Vegas most places regular rooms aren't much different - if you are in a regular room it's just a room and you won't be spending much time there. IT WAS A GREAT END OF THE TRIP AND WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY AT THE LUXOR AGAIN - SOON! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I had a comfortable stay here. I feel I got a good value for the money spent on this hotel room. Easy access to Mandalay Bay , Excalibur and MGM Grand (there is also tram service). And I used monorail to go around rest of the strip from MGM Grand. Hotel is in convenient location, staff are friendly and hotel is kept clean. However, Casino and bars in […] the casino are not as clean as you would expect, but not too bad as well. Overall, I would recommend staying in this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Staying at the Luxor was not quite what I had imagined. Although the price was good, the rooms were not "lux" at all. Ours was definitely showing some wear and tear. Paint on the bathroom door was chipped, wallpaper was peeling in some areas, decor is very dated and not very Egyptian-like. I expected at least some Egyptian-style pictures on the wall, […] but they were just boring abstracts. The service was also not great. Our friends ordered room service and it took over an hour and half to get two beers and an order of french fries. Then, it took two days before the tray was picked up outside their room and they finally had to call to finally get it picked up. In the hotel/casino itself, there are really no places to just sit and relax. There is lots of empty space on the second floor near the museums and shows where there could be some nice comfy chairs, but all they had were a few hard benches. My husband likes to find a comfy place to read while I'm hanging out in the casino and unless he wanted to stay in our room, he had to go to a neighboring hotel to read. We probably won't stay there again. We wanted the experience of staying in a pyramid and now we can say we did that, but next time will probably stay somewhere else. "hair in bed!!!"
We arrives in Las Vegas on Wednesday and the first casino we stayed at allowed us to check in hours before the check in time at no additional cost. Our next two nights we stayed at the Luxor. We had to haul our luggage around with us for hours until our room was ready or pay $25 to check in early. When we did get our room we just threw our bags in and […] went out & about on the strip. Got back to the room (tired from walking up & down the strip) and as soon as we moved the pillow to pull back the sheets we saw hair...pubes!!! No just one or two but a whole pile of it! The person who made the bed would have seen it, maybe even placed it there, I don't know... We immediately called the front desk and asked to be moved. When the gentleman who brought us our new room keys came I asked him to look at what we saw, at first he was a little irritated and said there was nothing he could do about it until we said no come look at this. He changed his tune when he actually saw why were legitimately upset. So we finally got settled in a room that was a little nicer than the last (same but it had a bathtub). Even then it was a little annoying that we were a few rooms down from family then we were moved to the tower that was on the opposite side of the building which literally took 15-20 minutes, the place is huge! Overall I wasn't too impressed, I had a better time & stay on Fremont St at the Golden Nugget... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rock N Roll Marathon at the Luxor"
Been to Vegas many times but never stayed at the Luxor. It was convenient for the start line of the Marathon. We upgraded to a suite and were in the "pyramid" which was cool (loved the pyramid shaped soaps). The particular area of the hotel where we were could use a facelift. THere is some peeling wallpaper, and carpets look worn. Overall very clean […] and a great experience. Table dealers at the dice games were primo and "my" pit boss was a delight. I will definetly be at the Luxor for future Vegas visits. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable beds, loooong way from the elevator"
I enjoyed the Luxor -- there buffet is decent, you get what you pay for, so compared to other more high-end buffets, it was not too spectacular, but you can't beat the price. the Pyramid Cafe is delicious. I also enjoyed the spa and fitness facilities. Our room was comfortable, but it was comical how far away it was from the elevator. Because of the […] unusual shape of the hotel (pyramid), each set of floors (ours, 16-21) has its own set of elevators that take off at a different corner of the pyramid. Basically, if your door isn't right by the elevator for your floors, you might get stuck walking halfway the length of the whole hotel to get to your room, which happened to us. I'm not really complaining, now I know for the future. It did get tiring though as it seemed to take us forever to get to our room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hadn't stayed at the Luxor in years...it's a beautiful hotel. They gave us a room upgrade at no charge! Friendly staff and good service, accommadated all of us to stay on same floor. They also have a free tram that goes to a few other hotels making them easily accessible if you want to venture out. Definitely will stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have wanted to stay at the Luxor Hotel since it opened. I am very unhappy with the hotel! It was dirty, unmaintained, not kept up and did not smell good! I rented 3 in-room movies which ALL were interrupted with "weak signal or cable connection". I checked the cable connection in the room (during the 1st movie) which was fine so the front desk said […] they would be able to fix it via remote with the satellite. When that didn't work they said it must be the movie. Maintenance showed up WELL after the movie was over and we were sleeping. This then continued to happen on the next 2 movies so it was clearly NOT the movie like the front desk said. I was told I would NOT be charged for the 3 movies but was still charged for 1 at check out. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE LUXOR - I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN! "Close to everything, on the strip"
Not alot of choices for tables. 2 c-r-a-ps tables, 1 baccarat table? Rooms were mediocre and the casino floor was extremely smokey to others I have visited. It's kind of at the same level as Excalibur. There are really no choices for grub. You have your junk food on top floor and a few starbucks around, but nothing really available. Unless you want […] to dish out extra bucks for Tender which is pretty expensive and mediocre meal. We walked into Planet Hollywood for comparison and it was like night and day, in terms of how breathable it was and the options available. i haven't even stayed there yet, but simply walking in and seeing what was available there compared to here was noticeable Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"you get what you pay for"
I stayed here with my father while on a road trip. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, view was good, quality overall was decent. The room in general showed signs of wear and tear like the warped bathroom door, discolored bathroom door knob, and the closet door. I guess the age of this hotel has to show somewhere. Another thing to n o te is that […] our room was in front of some big equipment that services the casino, like a boiler room, hard to explain. I guess we got the cheap rooms. The elevators swing from side to side when traveling up or down. You must hang on or you may fall. Cocktail service was also poor the time w e were there. I probably won't stay there again. I'd rather pay more money for a better hotel/casino next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I remember this hotel from about 12 years ago and thought it was very cool so when I booked it I was looking forward to my stay. Boy was I disappointed. The carpet in the hallways had duct tape on the runs, my drawer bottoms in my room were bowed so bad I couldn't use them and the furniture was so chipped up it reminded me if a quality inn. The staff […] was nice and it was as clean as they could keep it but it needs a major overhaul. I won't stay there again no matter how cheap. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Lixor is a decent hotel for the money, but nothing fancy. We had a few issues with the room including a broken tv remote (twice), no internet service, and poor linen service. I had to call the front desk and have fresh towels delivered. But for an average cost of 75.00 a night, I really can't complain too much. As for food, find it off the strip […] as every hotel is way over priced for food and beverage. Drinks are still free at the slots and table games, but the stakes are pretty high (15.00 minimum at bJ, Piagow, 3 card, etc). But, drink service was good, dealers were pleasant, and the casino layout was clean and pretty well ventilated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable Room, Difficult to Reach It"
The room itself was roomy and comfortable and the view from the window was impressive. That being said, long line to check into the hotel, no help available for luggage, not even a cart so we had to drag our bags by hand all the way from self parking, across the bridge, through the casino to the elevators.
