I will keep it brief and bullet my thoughts: 1. The valet and bell staff were great. 2. The front desk staff were okay except for 1 that was awful. I actually had a button on my shirt come undone and my bra was showing..instead of telling me I was exposed, she let me walk away and then I saw her making fun of me to the other employee. In the hotel's […] defense, the general manager was very apologetic but I can say I've never been treated like this before and will never be back. If you see Dezarae, stay away. 3. They are doing construction so be aware that this can be cumbersome during the day. 4. The beds are comfortable 5. Great location downtown Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your honest feedback. Both your comments and business are extremely important to us. "Great Location and Staff"
Perfectly located in the center part of Portland. While there, a power outage shut down a several block area including the Hotel Lucia. The staff responded quickly with emergency lighting and information. We eventually were sent (at no extra charge) to the nearby Governor Hotel to finish our stay. Everyone was very accommodating. We would definitely […] go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel Happy to hear about your experience during the unplanned power outage. We have Emergency Protocols in place for a reason and I was proud of the way our team responded. Glad to know that, even in times of difficulty, our Guest Service team still found a way to make you feel at home and well cared for. Respectfully, Chris Bebo General Manager
I would not recommend this to anyone. VERY small bathroom, very small and overflowing sink. No hot water, just warm and lots of very cold to shower with. No counter space what's so ever. Land line did not work, clock did not work, no view unless you like the venting system to peer at. Other visitors use the ice machine all night long. Room service person […] doesn't like his job much. They over charged my cc by over 100.00 I still need to call to fix that. Apparently its my problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel Thank you for your feedback. I am shocked to learn of your recent experience and would like to know more. As evidenced by the vast majority of favorable reviews, your situation is not a common one. I am assuming that the charge you are referring to is actually an authorization on your credit card for incidental charges but I would like to know for sure. I am also hopeful that you brought these issues to the attention of our Guest Service team so that we could have remedied them in real time? Either way, we are sorry for your experience and will work very hard to ensure it doesn't happen again. Respectfully, Chris Bebo General Manager
"Room very small, poorly designed"
Lucia is located downtown on a major street near the Pearl district. It has several floors and several rooms per floor. There was construction underway and during the day one elevator was unavailable and some of the lobby area was messy. Service personnel were uniformly pleasant and helpful. Wife and I stayed 4 nights in a tiny room. There were only […] 2 storage drawers, in a nightstand. A large bureau supported an over-large TV plus various inessential clutter. Bureau contained the minibar on one side and several snacks on the floor of the other side. Nothing above that; i.e., the snack side could/should have held several shelves for clothes or other guest items. One standard folding bag supporter in the room but no space for it - we had to move a big heavy table to fit it. Our other suitcase we put on the table (after removing more clutter), making it useless for any other purpose. The clutter - tourist lit, coffee pot, ice bucket, etc. all had to be stored on the floor in a corner to make room for our stuff. There were few electrical outlets, and only one that could be used for a hair dryer. The coffee shop downstairs has no tables and short hours - it's essentially a workday take-out place with loud rock music blaring all the time. The nicer restaurant has an extremely noisy duct system to draw off smoke from the stoves; we went once for breakfast (food was good) then avoided it because of noise. There are a lot of panhandlers in the area. I would not go back here.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel Thank you for your thoughtful comments. We appreciate them as well as your business and will use your review to improve how we communicate to our guests. I would like to clear up a few points: The hotel is currently under renovations with a completion date of January 2014. Many of the issues that you brought up are being addressed with the renovation. The coffee shop - aka Portland Penny Diner - actually does have tables and seeting to the rear of the store as well as counter seating. Store hours are from 6:00am - 3:00pm daily. Again, thanks for your review. I will be sure to share with the team with an eye toward improving communications with all of our guests. Respectfully, Chris Bebo General Manager
Queen deluxe room was very small, definately not set up for two people. Bathroom was tiny. HVAC was very noisy and seemed to blow nothing but cold air, but had to keep it on or the room got too hot. My friend stayed in a king deluxe room which was about twice the size. Would considering staying here again in a king deluxe room. Hotel staff was very […] friendly and helpful. Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I trust that you brought these issues up to us in real time so that we were able to address them for you? While it is true, some of our guest rooms are smaller than others, we nonetheless have plenty of bigger, well appointed rooms and I am hopeful that the next time you are visiting Portland you will consider giving us another chance. "Small rooms, loud and being renovated"
Not what I was expecting for the price. Room was tiny, but decently appointed. Nothing special. The bed was clearly a double bed despite saying it would be a Queen in the booking. The sheets were clearly for a queen because they were far too large for the bed in the room. Doors are paper thin. I had my Do Not Disturb sign out so housekeeping wouldn't […] wake me but honestly that made no difference because the door is so thin I could hear housekeepers knocking and opening/closing every door on the hallway each morning. The bathroom had no fan and was also tiny. I'd say book elsewhere. Not worth the price paid Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"HIP & COMFORTABLE!"
Staff was excellent. Attentive to every need. Hotel was very hip, neat art everywhere. Restaurant and bar in hotel was really great. Rooms were very comfortable and modernized. Will definitely go back to this hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
The location for hotel Lucia couldn't be better! When other people say the rooms are small they mean it! Very very small rooms! Hotel staff was pretentious. With the exceptence of the vallet attendants, all of whom were very helpful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Relaxing Overnight Stay"
Super attentive staff - all very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loud, Cold, Overpriced"
Lucia is a lovely place and the people are very nice but our room (second floor king), was very small, the heat was very hard to regulate without opening a window and the resulting street noise was intolerable. At the price I paid, I expected a greater level of comfort, even for a boutique hotel. I left more exhausted than I arrived. The presence of […] free earplugs on the nightstand speaks volumes. It strains me to say, but I won't be back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel Thank you for your honest feedback and business. The Hotel Lucia is a downtown property and every so often there is some street noise to contend with. "Well appointed hotel in mid-town."
Excellent service from the staff and adjoining restaurant. Only complaint is the deluxe room (#309) is extremely small for two (2) people.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good stay in downtown Portland"
Had a great stay and the staff was friendly. Just the heater made weird noises at night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, tight bathroom"
Considering the price of the room, room was a bit small, especially the bathroom. The bathroom was small and had an extra large wash basin which looked nice but took up so much too it made the bathroom very cramped. It would be I possible for two persons to step into the bathroom at same time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not good for light sleepers"
They has been went there for our anniversary and Papa hotel was very nice and the staff was excellent. But I had a bad feeling when I saw earplugs on the nightstand. I could hear everything going on outside and constantly was getting woken up by trucks and loud banging noises out in the street. We really like the hotel and the noise factor was the only […] issue we would definitely recommend this to other friends, just ones that are heavy sleepers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Downtown modern chic"
Modern eclectic hotel. Sleek design. Helpful (and personable) staff. Downtown location means easy walk to Broadway, Chinatown, Pearl district and don't forget a touch of Voodoo. But, since this is an old building, the rooms are not huge, so don't expect a ton of space for square dancing in your room.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location while being in the heart of town. Great restaurants , shopping. Few blocks from Portland's living room and the beautiful waterfront. Portland Nice !Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good launching place to explore the city"
Stayed at the Lucia for Musicfest NW. The hotel is located within walking distance of some of the event's larger venues and is short bus/cab ride away from the others. "Swanky spot in great location"
This is one of my favorite hotels in Portland. It has a wonderful ambiance with dark red/silver/black/white colors and lots of very cool historical photography. "Great centrally located hotel"
Lucia has always been my go to hotel when visiting Portland. The hotel has list a little of its edge. It used to have a great style that set it apart, and have it a similar feel to The W. The hotel needs a bit of a remodel, especially the bathrooms. The new cafe is also a miss, and should be a cool hotel bar. Will likely return, but not as impressed […] this visit. "Not bad - but not going back"
It was our first time in Portland - the location is pretty good but not the best. We had no idea where to eat or go out...neither did the staff. They took out a map and couldn't even find the hotel. The room was really small. It fit a bed and a tv stand. The bathroom was too small to function in. I understand we were downtown but come on! The room was […] very clean and the hotel was very nice. I was expecting a little more for the price but I have no real complaints. However, I will not stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice downtown hotel"
In town for a wedding. Hotel Lucia was well located making it a breeze to get around the city. Lots of interesting sites in walking distance or by the 3 modes of public transportation. The staff was incredible. When we asked about moving to a room with a view they did their best to accommodate us. We did move and had a slightly bigger room as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Exc Staff and front desk area however rundown"
Hotel was in a convenient area of downtown Portland. Staff were excellent. Front desk lobby area was modern and uptodate. Room we stayed was disappointing in that it was very small and rundown. Bathroom door was directly at the foot of the bed. Bathroom sink closet was dusty as well as areas behind night table. At least two electrical outlets in room […] were not grounded. "This hotel is centrally located in Portland."
You can walk to just about everything in downtown Portland. The room might have been a bit small but it felt very cozy. For a major city it was very quite in the room. Highly recommend the restaurant next door Imperial. Food was excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Cold and unfriendly"
Hotel was very cold feeling will not go back. Should not be pictures up of leaders from other countries who are murderers and our enemies and to specifically have a light shining on Fidel Castro by the elevator on the 9th floor. God only knows what other pictures were. I was appalled by pretty much everything at your hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Portlands Hospitality at its finest!"
We recently stayed at the Hotel Lucia and found it to be a most accommodating facility. From the valet, to the doorman, to the front desk people. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Stayed here to run 1/2 marathon which was downtown so good location. Door man was very nice! Front clerk could have been friendlier but was fine. Room was very small however for 2 people, was not a big deal. Bed was awesome, super comfy, slept like a baby!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location and great staff."
I stayed two nights while I was in town for an event. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, always offering recommendations and directions if needed. The location was very convenient and walking distance to anything I needed. The room was lovely, everything was upgraded and modern. Room 208 was extremely loud. The noise from the street was not enjoyable. They actually provided ear plugs. The reasoning from the hotel staff was, "that's a trade off for staying downtown". REALLY...I have had great stays at The Hotel Monaco (downtown) and The Benson (downtown). Sorry no more stays at Hotel Lucia.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel Lucia, a Provenance Hotel My apologies for the less than accomodating response. Like the hotels you mentioned, we too are downtown and subject to typical downtown noise but we have many different room types, most in locations that minimize or altogether eliminate this noise. We certainly could have done a better job of anticipating your needs and I assure you we will address this moving forward. Again, thanks for your business and thoughtful feedback. Clean and pleasant hotel. Helpful staff. Quiet. Bathroom and the rest immaculate. Deluxe queen room too small for more than 1 person. Only two small drawers for storage and little floor space. Coffee maker did not heat adequately. Mattress sagged on one side.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"perfect location, comfortable bed"
Great location, convenient to everything. The staff are unbelievably friendly. Everyone was genuinely interested in our comfort and well being. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The only downside to this hotel is that the rooms are not very sound proof. The walls between rooms are very thin.
