"Great Use of Stay 10 Nights Get 1 Free"
Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 16, 2009
Because we had stayed 10 nights through Hotels.com we were able to use our free night at the Homewood Suites. We were able to get a 2 room/2 bath suite which was perfect for 2 couples travelling together. The property is undergoing rennovations and the floor we were staying on had already been rennovated and was very nice. However, the rooftop hot tub was out of order, which was something we had all been looking forward to. Although we could not check-in upon arrival, the guest services staff was very nice and helpful. Although I don't think I would pay the regular price for this room, I would definitely use my free night again.

The hotel is rather old and we were disappointed in our suite. We felt we paid too much money for what was offered. The location is great as it is directly on the Riverwalk. The staff was friendly and at least the rooms were clean but I will not return to this hotel on future visits.

The hotel was nice. Lots of action going on outside at night. You can hear noise all night long in the rooms with windows, but not in the bedroom. The cleaning lady was great. I wished I would have gotten her name so her bosses would know she did a great job. Breakfast was good. The rooms were a little outdated but the beds were very comfortable. My teenage son loved it.

Hotel is on the Riverwalk, but not really convenient to most of the Riverwalk "action". The hotel is located at the far southwest end. We walked everywhere on the Riverwalk, but don't expect to be in the middle of things because you will have a walk no matter where you are going. Becasue of the location, we were able to walk to the market though. The hotel itself is "ok". Older building that was converted to the hotel. Unlike most Hilton properties, bed was small and uncomfortable. Hotel had the typical ammenities and an average breakfast was included in the price. I was disappoint to pay a $20/night extra guest fee since there were only 2 of us in the room. Parking is all valet and cost about $25/night with taxes. We probably won't stay there again, but I would recommend to friends with the above disclaimers.

I called to have the TV replaced, but no one every showed up. I also called to fix the drip, drip from the toilet, but it was never fixed. A And the hotel ran out of shampoo for three nights during my stay, thus I had to buy a big bottle of shampoo. The customer service at this hotel does not exist,

I stayed a one bedroom suite. Very spacious. Great beds and bedding. Has a TV in both rooms. And a door between the bedroom and living area for privacy! Great for a family with kids! And very courteous, helpful staff. My only critique is the parking situation. The Valet system is very unorganized and takes a long time. You call for your car and it is suppossed to take 15 minutes, but it doesn't. One morning, I called for the car and waited 45 minutes before we just cancelled the car and walked to breakfast. On my way out, I waited for 45 minutes for my car, and was late getting to the airport.

The Homewood Suites Riverwalk was an excellent hotel with an awesome staff. The Good: We arrived late on friday night and had 2 small kids with us(ages 1 & 3) The staff opened the kitchen and filled our childrens' cups with milk. The breakfast selection in the morning was good (get there at least 1 hr before bfast bar closes as it gets really crowded). Hotel is 1 block from main part of Riverwalk (restaurants, etc) The Bad: Valet parking is more than $20 per night, and that doesn't include tips. Also, we waited almost 25 minutes for our car on saturday at noon (you should call at least 15-20 min prior to needing your car) The rooftop pool is a nice idea, but is really small-still our kids had a great time. PS: Our main reason for the trip was to go to Sea World. Do not go in August with little kids!! It was hot, extremely crowded, and the kids were miserable. They were only able to see 2 shows, and you have to get to each one 30 minutes early. Also, there was a 40 minute wait to get into the water park section (separate line) We defiinitely recommend staying at Homewood Suites Riverwalk Hotel...

The hotel was great and very clean. The staff was very helpful and kind. Yes, paying for the parking is $20 a night! Doesn't really apply to the hotel but the riverwalk is not condusive to a baby stroller or someone in a wheelchair. If you have an infant invest in a babybjorn to care your child in and not a stroller. Great hotel and had a great time!

Being that it was Spring Break in Texas and having a class reunion during this time will probably be changed in the future because of the rate difference. The hotel was awesome and exceeded my expectations. The rooms were big and comfortable. The employees from the Front Desk to the housekeepers to the maintenance crew were all very cordial and willing to assist at any minute. My only disappointment was the price of parking. I may have missed this information when researching the hotel in the beginning but I feel that $20 plus tax per night for valet parking was a little expensive. I paid approximately $85 to park there for my stay. I drove in on my check in day and out on my check out day. I never had my car brought to me the entire stay but still paid $85. Other than the parking, my stay was awesome.
