"Happy in Hawaii"
The Hotel is beautiful and in a fantastic location. The only down side is the $30 resort fee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice hotel -hidden resort "scam" fee"
This resort is very nice, except the resort fee which is just a scam and even taxed- it's worthless . If they lowered or lost the resort fee it would be great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Upon arrival I had to pay for staff to park my car or park myself. I couldn't check in and then park my car. Seemed inconsiderate. Hotel is in fairly nice condition, some upgrading is needed but nothing major. Room was quite small for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nothing could be finer."
We were on the ground floor and the view was somewhat obstructed by a huge pile of landscaped lava rocks. The pools and hot tubs were great, the grounds manicured. The restaurant was a little too pricey, so we walked across the street to the Italian restaurant, and it was extremely good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One night stay"
The Marriott is definitely one of the more dated resorts in the waikoloa area. While in a great location there are aspects of the room that could do with an upgrade including the bathrooms and balcony's. Having said that the staff are incredibly friendly and the proximity to the bay is first class. Finally, the pool area and poolside restaurant are […] below what would be expected from a marriott resort and in comparison to the surrounding hilton and Sheraton resorts. The hotel was ok but a quite pricey for what you received ... thought the brunch was priced way to high for what you got ... Service and location were good ....the people working at the hotel were very nice and helpful ...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"one night stand"
This hotel is the typical oversized resort facility with impersonal service, inconvenient parking arrangements and sterile public areas. It does not compare well with other Marriott properties. In spite of being a Rewards member, I was given a room overlooking the lobby roof. Since I was booked under the Hotels.com free night program, they probably […] treated me as a second class citizen. "Dated but comfortable with great beach access"
I recently stayed at the Waikoloa Marriott for a week in January. My husband and I arrived really late on a Friday night and were exhausted, ready to collapse in our room. We had great customer service checking in and were told our room was on the ground floor. That's not usually our preference, but we went with it since we were so tired. When we arrived […] at our room we found we had a room with two double beds, which was also not our preference as we're both tall and neither of us really fits on a double bed - not to mention we couldn't share a bed. After finding there were no other rooms available, we called it a night. After getting a great night's rest the first night, we never looked back and enjoyed every minute at the hotel. The ground room floor ended up making our buffet breakfast and the nearby pool easily accessible. Let's be honest - it's Hawaii, so we weren't going to spend a lot of time in our room. Beach access was really, really easy and we didn't take that for granted as we explored the island and found how tough some beach access could be. Even though the hotel was filled to capacity it never felt that way. We didn't have to wait in line at the restaurant, there were always plenty of beach chairs available and the beach never felt crowded. Sure, the hotel is dated and the bathrooms are tiny, but as a home base the Waikoloa Beach Marriott was perfect. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were late arriving by 10 hours .. The next day DEBBIE at the front desk worked very hard to find rooms we had requested .. Her smile and bright eyes made us feel welcome and important .. It was wonderful !!! You are Lucky to have her on your team ! Thank YouGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful grounds and very friendly staff"
This hotel visit was all around a great experience. Every encounter with staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. The pool area is awesome and you can't beat the beach area for the best Kona sunsets. We will be coming back in September to get married and will definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff did nothing to change my room after placing me to a room that only sees the roof.Genuine Expedia guest review

If you are looking for something more than a place to stay, Waikoloa Beach Marriot is the place. The Hotel might need some renovations but the staff is just amaizing. I will totally stay there again. Thank you for making our vacation memorable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Would Probably Stay Again"
We stayed here for our honeymoon. The rates seemed reasonable and the location seemed convenient. Try to book your airport transportation ahead of time. It's about a $70 taxi ride. The resort is between two mountains so its constantly windy. Very warm and sunny, just always windy. Shops and restaurants are in walking distance. Rental cars are on site. […] Pools are generally packed early until the afternoon, and all are kid friendly. No adult only areas. Staff was very nice, they gave us free glasses of champagne and chocolates since it was our honeymoon. Resort restaurant is pretty pricey, we took advantage of their 1/2 off night, the food was amazing. There's a restaurant on the beach that's priced a little lower and has a great view. It's about a 10 minute walk from the resort. Luau was fun, basically what we expected. Upgraded to premium seats, definitely didn't have to for a view of the stage, but glad we did, the apps were awesome! Concierge ladies are very nice, but misleading. Despite what they tell you, Enterprise's rates were cheaper than theirs. Also excursions booked yourself over the phone we're cheaper and offered better times. Spa books up FAST! Call ahead before you get there, or book on your first day. Don't advise using room number to pay at pool, we did it twice and received three charges on our end of stay bill. 1 wasn't ours, 1 was, and 1 was fudged to drastically increase their tip. The front desk attendant was very accommodating to fix this. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location. Accommodation was okay."
Positives: -The hotel is located next to the beach so it is very easy to go swimming/snorkeling/kayaking. They also provide beach towels. -The hotel swimming pool does not close. -The fitness center was better than other four star hotels with decent equipment. -There was a fish pond next to the hotel with so many fish that was very interesting to observe. -The […] bed was a little firmer that other hotels which I liked. Negatives: -There was a constant whining noise in the room that ruined my sleep. The bathroom fan was always on (no switch to turn it off) and that was contributing to it. Also the refrigerator was a little loud. But there was also some other noise from outside that I don't know what it was (maybe the a/c fans or something). -Toilet would not flush sometimes because it was getting clogged, but it would fix itself after a while. -The bathroom pipes were rattling some times. -We had lunch once at the hotel restaurant and the food was not tasty, the portions were small and it was on the expensive side. We did not try the restaurant again give that bad first experience. -The breakfast buffet had less options that expected from a 4 star hotel. -Too many kids in the pool area , so it was too loud. All feedback is an important element of our business and we value your opinion. Your comments will be shared with the departments involved and used to improve customer service. We do have a maintenance program in place so you shouldn’t have had any plumbing problems and we apologize for that. Our pool area is popular with families and when the hotel is busy, we agree it can be noisy. Thank you for the nice comments about our location, beds, pools and fitness center.
We enjoyed our stay at the Marriott. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The hotel is well located - near shopping and on the beach. Rooms are nice - a little worn and could probably use some updates, but overall well maintained.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful view, great pools, comfortable rooms"
I stayed at the Waikoloa Beach Marriot Resort & Spa over Christmas week and loved it. The view is fantastic, there is a nice beach, 3 great pool and hot tubs, and really nice staff. The beds were super comfortable and I was so happy to be staying here. The staff was all so very friendly, we couldn't have asked for a better Christmas week. We also attended […] the Christmas Eve luau which was so much fun. Loved our stay, would come back here in a heart beat Things to watch out for - I wouldn't recommend the garden view. We had the pool view which was great, but from what I can tell garden view means really parking lot view. Nachos - don't do them. The cheese is ballpark cheese. :) Also, I am not sure how the hotel is able to use the word "Spa" in the title. They do have a spa, but it is definitely not a SPA hotel. It is on the smaller side. Also there are none of the typical resort activities - water aerobics, yoga, etc. All that being said - this hotel is fabulous. Just wanted to be honest about all the aspects. Highly recommend this hotel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Resort on the beach."
The hotel is actually a resort locatedin an upscale development. There are several high end retailers just across the street (i.e. Tiffany and Co, etc...) and other resorts located adjacent to this one. The grounds were great and the beach access is amazing. It was busy but it amazed me that with a gorgeous beach 100 yards away, how many people preferred […] the pool. The hotel restaurant was good, but the Hilton located just north has several great restaurants inside. The only trouble with those places is finding them inside the Hilton because that place is massive. The staff at the Marriott was AMAZING. They were very accommodating and were always helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"nice hotel in a nice location"
We recommend this hotel for the location, the room, the pool. We had a garden view but still could see the sea. We benefitted from the music of the lu'au sitting on our balcony. We did not stay long enough to test the spa (we should have made a reservation prior to our arrival). The breakfast buffet was great but the personel (cook and waitress) clearly […] unorganized and overwhelmed at peak hours. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Ideal Vacation Destination!"
The Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa has got to be one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. You're already in Hawaii (that's a huge plus), but this hotel will just blow you away! Settled on it's own private beach, with two pools, hot tubs, and a variety of other amenities-- this hotel is sure to allow the maximum amount of rest and relaxation, […] with the least amount of hassle. The entire hotel is open air. From the main lobby, to the corridors leading to your room you'll be immersed in the warm, salty air-- you'll know you're in paradise! The hotel is located in the Waikoloa Village, directly across the street from a small open-air shopping plaza with boutique shops (with 3 great restaurants, and a great fish fry stand), and about 1/4 mile from another shopping/dining complex with even more options to choose from. The hotel also comes with an Expedia Guide/ Concierge available for most of the day if you wish to book individual Big Island trips or excursions in addition to your stay at the hotel. It's highly recommended you at least talk to the Expedia Guide if you want to maximize your vacation! You won't be disappointed! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A bit pricy for the product."
Checked in only to find that a $26 per day resort fee was to be paid up front. I feel that the pricing at the restaurant was high, considering that the food was generally just average. Room was standard motel style with a bed, sofa, desk and a really cramped bathroom. You can have a good time here, but you should be prepared to pay well for it.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient location right on the beach"
We stayed here for two weeks for our tenth anniversary and received friendly and helpful service at all times. The restaurant was excellent and the beach was one of the top four in the area. the hotel was so near the beach but the facilities in beach were so poor, for example there were no jet-ski on water or snorkel tour in beach. "Great beach hotel and journey starting point"
The hotel beach is absolutely beautiful. It's protected by a bay, so the sea is nice and calm. You can also do a little snorkeling, although the visibility is limited. Sea turtles land here every other day. The hotel is also nice, although it's a little too quiet in the evenings. The hotel is also a great starting point for trips to other parts of the […] island. "Decent hotel in Waikoloa next to A-bay with some i"
The hotel was nice overall. Clean rooms, and close to the beach with good staff. However, I have to point out 3 issues I had: 1. Ocean view from my room in king kamehameha wing really meant, lawns, then swimming pool, then fishpond, and then ocean so I think that was misrepresented a bit. 2. WI fi was spotty at best 3. Rooms didn't have the best soundproofing […] - I had a noisy bunch stay next door half way through my stay and I could hear a lot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location with options"
This is my 2nd stay here. I like the basic environment of the hotel. The beds, safe, ironing board are great amenities in the room. The resteraunt had good service and food but is pricey. In addition to the one hotel resteraunt, their are many resteraunts across the street for other dining choices dining choices. The beach is nice as well as the historic […] fish ponds. Here comes what I didn't like. The pool Waite service is awful. You literally wait... If you complain, you'll get even worst service. This poor service happened on both trips. I suggest you get up and go get your own drinks and food. You'll be much happier. On both stays, I spend some time at the pool every day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We stayed 3 nights after deciding to extend our vacation and the condo we were in wasn't available. The room was small but adequate and comfortable. We thought there was a microwave in the room but one was available for rent for $10 per night plus tax. The pool area was beautiful looking out at A Bay and open 24 hrs a day. "Good homebase for sightseeing."
Overall the hotel grounds are nice and the staff is friendly. The rooms seem a bit dated and the bathrooms need upgrading. The hotel needs to separate the infinity pool and jacuzzi as an adults only area. The are other pools; sand pool and pool with waterslide for kids. While trying to enjoy the solitude of the infinity pool a father brought his two […] young boys into the pool and the were standing on the wall, jumping in splashing everyone. While sitting in the jacuzzi next to the infinity pool, two kids were in the water eating off of plates and drinking juice. Several kids came into the jacuzzi snorkeling and swimming. The hotel staff paid no attention or just didn't care. I just think it would be nice for adults to have this one small area to relax. There is close access to the beach and Hapuna beach is only a few minutes away. The hotel is reasonably priced and in a good location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
