"Filthy linens and paper-thin walls"
This hotel is, at best, 2.5 stars and only because the location is convenient. But I would rather spend a bit more and stay somewhere nicer where the elevators actually work quickly and the walls aren't paper-thin. The shower curtain and sheets/pillowcases were filthy. The walls were so thin that we could hear neighbors getting ice out of the ice machine […] down the hall and talking (we could hear every word). The only hope of getting a decent night's sleep was when the air conditioning kicked in and provided some "white noise". I would not recommend staying here, there are plenty of nicer places nearby. Very nice! Helpful staff and we took advantage of the shuttle service to get around the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good, but a few issues"
Hotel is nice, and clean, staff is great, and location is outstanding if you want to go to power and lights district. There are few issues however. The air conditioner in room was noisy enough it woke me up several times the first night I was staying there. Other reviews talked about this and I thought how bad could it be. It was more extreme than I […] expected. They had elevator problems while we stayed as well. It was difficult to get from our room to our car in the parking garage. Location couldn't be better if you're looking for fun at the power an lights district. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to the convention center"
This hotel was a nice enough place, close to the convention center and Power and Light district. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the room service was tasty and fast. However, I thought the price was a bit high for the room, room service, ect. compared to other hotels in this class.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Awful stay. Would not recommend."
When we first arrived, it took forever to check in. Then we went to our room where we noticed that the floor was wet and the bathroom was disgustingly dirty. I would not go back and will probably never stay at a crowne plaza.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel is located close to many attractions"
This was a 24 hour stay to see if Kansas City would be a good fit for next year's reunion of a WWII veteran's group. The Crowne Plaza staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. They assisted me with suggestions and excellent directions which were a great help. I was pleasantly surprised and very appreciative of everything they did for me. The hotel […] was located close to many of the attractions I was wanting to see so it worked well for my particular needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First room had a very wet floor by fridge. Moved to handicap accessible room that didn't fit our needs but didn't want to complain again. Shower very dark and dirty. Elevators not working for all floors.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was a nice hotel in the room"
The one of rwo elevators for the garage was down. It did take awhile to get into the hotel. There is a $15 to park. I feel that if you are spending the amount on your hotel you should not have to pay for parking. Its hard to carry your luggage when its quicker to go the stairs then wait for the elevator.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking Distance to Power and Light District"
Nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable beds. Concierge gave us good advice on places to eat in the area. Loved that it was within walking distance of the Power and Light District.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great downtown KC hotel"
We got fabulous service from the valet there. He went the extra mile to drive us to a wedding at the Berg.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
staff was friendly, location was great, we were upgraded to the suite because they had overbooked on our rooms which turned out to be a plus for us because the suite was amazing! Would recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A little noisy (trains, etc) but location was great for the venue of my meeting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Hotel - great location. Minutes from Power & Light District, Country Club Plaza and steps away from the convention center. There was an event at the hotel and no parking available in the garage. I was refunded the parking fee on the spot. Excellent service all around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beds were hard. Arrived late and no free parking available. Ended up paying 12 dollars for valet parking. Noisy area of downtown. A/C partially worked. Not worth the price or hassle to access this hotel. Next stay will be outside of downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is wonderful...the staff goes over and above to help.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Paid $100+/ night and I wasn't "Wowed". Great hotel but not worthy of the price tag. Service was phenomenal !!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"party central saturday night ??"
had to drop overall rating considerably due to the fact that it appeared to be party central this weekend. almost all saturday night we heard laughter, yelling, swearing, footsteps and constant ice machine noise from what appeared to be numerous college age type parties ongoing on our floor and throughout the rest of the hotel as well. one guest was […] even challenged to a fight when he asked the rowdy partiers to hold the noise level down. security was trying to quiet some of the noise makers but to little avail. finally at about 4:30 AM the noise subsided, probably due to the partiers drunkenness. what should have been a most pleasant experience was marred by the noisy youngsters. of course, i remember being young once so i figure it may have been a touch of "payback" that they kept us up most of the night (lol) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"KC on Saturday night"
First time stay at Crowne Plaza. Used valet parking upon arrival - very friendly and helpful as was check-in. Nice and spacious room, nice bathroom. Clean. Only issue was there was noise all night long from some guests who were partying away - may have been some type of prom night. Early morning check-out meant that I had to retrieve my own car from […] garage as their was no one on valet parking staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Good stay overall. When I first got there it took the lady a second to talk to me. She almost acted like I didn't belong there. Once I got in my room it was clean. The bathroom made weird noises in my room and could hear the same noises from room next door. Very odd. Elevators from parking garage to the room are confusing and don't all work. The men […] out front for valet were very friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Was close to Sprint Center"
We liked being able to walk to Sprint Center and other locations. Very Nice Hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Totally not what I would expect for a $180.00 dollar a night stay. We were on the 14th floor nice view of the city but the room was really small and the bathroom even smaller. Was not told about getting out of the stupid garage with the not having the key to get out. It was our first time there so my girlfriend and I didnt know. "Great Hotel Stay to See the Kansas City Royals"
My son and I had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza in Kansas City. I really like the fact that the hotel had a parking lot. The staff was friendly and gracious. Our room was clean. The only problem I had was that I had to wait for the elevator for as long as 10 minutes at one point. Other than that minor inconvenience, we truly enjoyed our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice job with decorating, BUT I am 6'4" tall and the bathrooms are just to small ... head hits ceiling in the shower. Time to rebuild rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Merely OK ... won't go out of my way to go back"
I was unpleasantly surprised that I could not send a FedEx overnight mailing from the hotel unless I had a FedEx account number to use. For several reasons I wanted to pay directly for the transaction (much as one would in a Kinko's or a UPS store, neither of which was near the hotel). Yet the best the hotel could do was log onto FedEx and arrange […] for the mailing out by putting my credit card info into the website...which is one thing I specifically did NOT want to have to do. This is the 21st century and a business traveler is supposed to have a VARIETY of services, and options for interfacing with those services, when staying at a hotel that supposedly understands the needs of such a traveler. The business center's computers were unpredictably operational, although I give the hotel credit for not charging for printing out at the center. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I would definitly stay again. Overall a very nice stay. The only problem was i booked a room with one bed i get to check in and they say all they have is double but i can pay the upcharge thats forty buck and have a single bed. Kinda seems like they do that to get you to pay the extra.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad, but"
Crowne Plazas tend to be outdated--what was once touted as luxury hotels are now hotels behind the times. The lowest available floor was 7, which is terrible when you have vertigo--but at least the front desk clerks were helpful to get me the lowest possible floor. The hotel was very busy at this time and hosted a variety of obnoxious adult groups. […] The room itself was OK--some of the toiletries look like they had already been used and the closet door/mirror looked like it was coming off the frame. There was also no fan/vent to circulate air in the bathroom. They also got our address really wrong on our bill, but it didn't seem to matter. LOVED that there was a Starbucks on premises. Parking garage entry and exit was hard to operate--the valet guys often came out to help us. Not a horrible hotel--the price and location were right! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good for convenient downtown access"
This hotel was clean, staff was friendly, nice extras like Starbucks in the lobby. Walking distance to many main downtown places. Rooms are a bit small for the price but it really didn't matter on a trip. Cost of parking in hotel garage is extra charge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will not stay here unless I must"
Negatives - We did not get the room we reserved, toliet seat broken, room key mechanism must have been bad ...had to replace keys about 10 times (4 times in 1 day); tv didn't initially work; handle on toliet falling off; room Very Tiny; heat and air unit very noisy. Positives - Nicest, most friendly staff ever encountered; made an attempt to fix things; […] brought us a frig; gave us free breakfasts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I felt the rooms were overpriced for the room. On saturday, the housekeeping was poorly done. Maybe they were busy, but for the price we paid, I thought at least the tops of the cups and things would have been straightened.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel with excellent parking"
I can say nothing bad about this hotel. The staff was very helpful and the restaurant within the hotel had very delicious food. All in all it was a perfect stay! If I make another trip to KC I will definitely consider Crown Plaza again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
great location but we were not told that we needed our hotel keep to get out of the parking garage, so we had to pay an extra $10 to parkGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location, Old Hotel Needs Renovation"
The location of this hotel couldn't be much better. The lobby of the hotel is upscale and the staff was very courteous and helpful. Unfortunately the amenities for the rooms are not up to par for an expensive stay. Furthermore, our shower/tub wouldn't even drain. There nothing quite like paying a premium price per night and then standing in a pool of […] your own filth when you take a shower. Finally, the overall cleanliness definitely left something to be desired. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful time in KC"
I was very happy with the hotel and the staff they were very helpful. Didn't like the idea I had to pay $13 a day to park, would have liked to have known that ahead of time, not used to big city parking I guess.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms were rather small. Bathroom was very, very small. Shower very, very smallGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great quick birthday weekend"
Starbucks in the lobby was a plus. Room service was prompt and even reasonably priced. Only a 3 block walk to the center of Power and Light district. If you like sushi, I highly recommend Drunken Fish, which is 3 blocks away, and I could see it from my 17th floor room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
