I'll start off by saying that when I pay a lot for a hotel, I demand a lot. Omni falls short. From the check in staff having a little attitude, to the room not looking at all like the pics, cleanliness being so/so, to the part that ruined my stay. The bed was horrible! I couldn't sleep at all on it, lumpy, old, just not up to par. For a hotel at this price, I expect a lot more. I will not return here, and recommend people reading this to go elsewhere. There are hotels in downtown that will appreciate your business.

out of value="5"We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us. We do apologize that our front office staff had a little attitude. We want our guests to feel welcome when they arrive. A comfortable bed is such an important part of picking a hotel. All of our king, queen and double beds are Serta mattresses with double-sided Advance Comfort Quilt pillowtops and feature innerspring coils and perimeter edge foam. However we do understand that a bed can’t provide everyone with the same level of comfort. We do offer rollaway beds and sleeper sofas, but unfortunately we do not have alternative mattresses. We certainly appreciated your business, and we hope you will consider staying with us in the future.

This was our first trip to Chicago and the hotel really made the trip. We could not fault the hotel or the staff who were welcoming, very helpful and friendly. The room was great, the facilities were great and the location was perfect. The hotel is right in the center of the main shopping area and the tourist attractions were close by. We tried to find some fault in the hotel and all we could find was that the ironing board was a bit wobbly! The room had tea/coffee facilities and was a good sized room. The hotel food was great as well. We would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed at the Chicago Downtown Omni for 7 Nights in June. Hotel facilities were excellent and it has a great location on the Magnificent Mile. Staff extremely helpful throughout our stay. Food and beverages were very expensive in the hotel though. We had $25 food and beverage credits for each day of our stay but a small breakfast using the credit still costs an additional $37 dollars once all the service charges and taxes are added on. With so many dining options so close to the hotel it is far cheaper to eat outside of the hotel restaurant. Select guest programme is excellent offering Free Wi Fi and complimentary morning room delivery of beverages for stays of 2 nights or more. Concierges were very helpful in recommending and booking restaurants.

The Omni is well located and we were able to walk to most of the sights that we wanted to see in Chicago. The area seemed safe during the evenings and we were happy to walk around the local area. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful with our various requests. We ate breakfast twice in the hotel restaurant, whilst the surroundings and service were very good, the food was a little dear - $19 for a hot savoury or sweet breakfast (1waffle, 2 pancakes, 2 small sausages, slice of bacon and egg plus tea/coffee and juice) however the dining room looks out over the Magnificent Mile so the views are included in the price! The rooms were very large and comfortable, we particularly liked the sitting room areas, as we were holidaying with friends it was really nice to be able to sit in each others rooms on comfortable chairs rather then having to sit on the bed! We thought that the rooms were very well appointed with good tea/coffee making facilities, decent hairdrier (rather than the ghastly wall mounted affairs so often found in hotels), powerful shower etc. The bed was very large and comfortable, we were on the 24th floor and were not disturbed by noises outside or inside the hotel.

Our experience at the Omni Hotel was not the best but it was ok. The front desk staff did do there best in our situation. We did not like the first room we were in. But then the change our room to a better one and then we were pleased. I really don't have really bad comments for the hotel, but I am seriously irate with Hotel . com customer services. When I booked the room for our first get-away in three years I specifically asked for 4 things. 1-late check-in 2-a bottle of White Zinfandel in our room upon arrival 3-a Jacuzzi suite and 4-a smoking room. Only one of these request where met. the late check-in. I was on the phone with them for 46 min that evening, the gentleman that was taking care of me put me on hold 5 times and still could not explain why all of my request were not met, so I asked to speak to a manager and again on hold for about 3-5 min. When she came on the phone all she could say is sorry and that we will credit your account $50.00. She said sorry again and is there anything else she can help me with. I said no and also said that I will never use this company again. I hope that this is posted on the web-site because people should always here the good with the bad..

The Onmi is nicely situated on Michigan Ave adjecent great shopping areas and a short walk to the touristy dining establishments (e.g., Gino's East, Topolobampo, etc.). The room was great and the hotel staff were professional and attentive. Two shortcomings were: (1) the hotel is accessible only via a one-way street (main doors on Huron St, not on Michigan Ave as stated in the website), so if you're driving, its not very easy to find/access, and (2) the hotel has 2 different sets of elevators--one to access the lobby, one to access the rooms-- making the trek from the street somewhat inconvenient. Outside of that, our stay was fine!
