The hotel was an ok stay. What was frustrating was the lack of airport shuttle even though it is one of the features of this hotel. We inquired at the airport about the shuttle and were told there wasn't one and then at the hotel itself they said they did not have one. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because of shuttle service, so I […] was a little ticked off that this was not the case. It is fairly close to the CityLink which cost us 90BHT one way and then we caught a taxi back to the airport for about 300BHT. The hotel was ok, you could see the age on the desk inside the room and it was a little awkward going to the pool in the other builiding, as you need to walk through the lobby. If you like using hotel pools I would suggest asking to be put in a room in the same building or bring clothes you can put over your suit for travel. Read more

Newly renovated hotel. Very nice but immediate location doesn't have much to do/see. Very close to BTS station and Airport Rail. A walk north for 10-15 gets to the lively Victory Monument area. Hotel is very elegant with the hotel owner's artwork collection.

The room had a slight musty smell, the mattress was hard as a rock, when I checked out and was waiting for a taxi, the receptionist came running out asking about a "lolly bag" that was missing from the room, I had no Idea what she was talking about.

Apparently this is a newly remodeled hotel (formerly the Siam City Hotel) and they've done a great job. Very nice pool, gym and lobby area. We didn't take advantage of the hotel restaurants as they were pricier than food around the area, but they seemed to be of pretty high quality. The hotel is conveniently located next to the BTS station, so you […] can travel around pretty easily if you need to. If you do need to take a taxi, make sure they turn on the meter and go straight to your destination. Otherwise, they will try to make up a price or stop by a place where they get a commission. Anyway, great hotel. I recommend it to anyone staying in Bangkok. Read more

I normally don't stay in this expensive a hotel but the rates were cut 50% so I gave it a try. The Sukosol is a first class operation but the meals and laundry are incredibly expensive by Thai standards. A small bag of laundry for which the Sukosol would have charged 1,000 baht ($33) cost me 60 baht at a local laundry. The breakfast buffet was 675 baht. […] I ended up finding breakfast at a nearby competitor for 125 baht. I feel the Sukosol takes advantage of travelers unfamiliar with Thai prices. Otherwise the hotel is top notch. Read more

My wife and I, who were visiting Bangkok from US, enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The design of the hotel and our room was contemporary, something which both my wife and I liked. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The bell boys went out of their way to help us. The only draw back is the distance […] to Siam center malls where we had to rely on sky trains or cabs, both of which were easily available. Read more

On my trip around the world, this was the nicest hotel I stayed in. I had my laundry done by the hotel and was amazed at the job they did. All pressed folded with cardboard stays and wrapped in stiff clear plastic. The lobby was being renovated and I am sure the hotel will be even better when that is done.

My wife and I only stayed here one night between flights. The hotel is very close to the airtrain line to the international airport (Suvarnabhumi), which is the main reason we picked it. It is a nice hotel, has good massages at their spa, and has a nice pool. There are a variety of restaurants and shops conveniently located on the first floor. The staff […] was very nice. Read more

The Siam hotel was great! Our room was clean and comfortable and had a good shower. The location was easy walking distance to and from the train. The breakfast buffet was yummy and had a good selection of foods to eat. Our only disappointment was that the pool was closed due to renovations.

My girlfriend and I spent a weekend in Bangkok. I was visiting family so we didnt spend too much time at the hotel but it was conveniently located for my family to pick us up or drop us off. The hotel is also 5 min walk away from the BTS which is also connected to the airport line. 2 Stops away from the shopping at Paragon etc. Room was very comfortable, […] this was value for money! Hotel restaurants are OK, and pricey but atleast you know the food is safe. There are a few malls in the area and you can walk around the corner for a few bars and restaurants. I would recommend this place for anybody going to BKK, especially if it is your first time. It is easy to get around and the staff was very helpful and had good recommendations for leisurely activities. Read more

The hotel is in a great place since it is located directly below a train station. You can get around easily by avoiding traffic using the train system. There is a 7-11 next door for fresh water at any time. There is a Starbucks across the street as well. The only complaint I have is the initial cleanliness of my room. There were smudges all over the […] large mirror and the bathroom floor still had hair on it. The counters next to the window above the sofa were still dirty as well. The cleanliness of my room varied daily. One day it was pretty clean, the next I was missing several towels and it wasn't too clean. I will definitely stay here again because of the proximity to the train station, friendliness of staff, and quality of breakfast. There is a great breakfast buffet in the lobby. Read more

In person, Siam City Hotel looks exactly like its photos. The hotel is modern, very clean and nice. It is very close to the Sky Train as well as the train to/from the airport, which makes it easy for travel. It is not near the Bangkok river, so keep that in mind. There is a 7-Eleven close to the hotel to purchase any necessities. The food and hotel […] bar were great too. My only complaint is how hard the beds were. It was difficult to get a good night sleep because I felt like I was sleeping on concrete. If you like hard beds, this could be the place for you. Either way, when I go back to Bangkok I will likely stay here again. Read more

Easy walk to/from airport Skytrain and BTS station (Phaya Thai). There is an elevator on the airport train side of the station that will take you to the street. I did see a hotel bellhop at the train station assist other travelers. Perhaps they phoned ahead? But the train is really close to hotel if you have wheeled luggage. Service of hotel staff was […] excellent. Beware that hotel transportation desk will try to sell the hotel car transport service (1600 baht) between midnight and when trains start (5AM). We easily got a taxi and even though the metered fare was a little over 175 baht, we tipped very heavily - after all it was 2AM. Spacious modern bathroom with separate long bath tub from shower. Rain-shower head and handheld shower head in tiled shower - plenty of hot water and water pressure. A place to put your toiletries below the sink. Overall, very nicely decorated - even fresh orchids in bedroom and bath! Good AC, quiet location even though close to major roads and trains, bathrobes and slippers provided as well. The room was not especially spacious - if you have lots of luggage, it would be tight. For the price we got on Hotels.com, (approx $70 USD per night) this was an excellent deal. Caveat: this price did not include internet (an additional fee) - however just hopped the BTS two stops to SIAM Paragon and used the internet cafe in the food court for about 40 baht for 1/2 hour. We chose to go to the local 7-11 to purchase additional beverages/snacks (go to your left when exiting the hotel - about 2 buildings away) for variety and because so much less than hotel provided convenience bar prices. Although the many hotel restaurants looked good, we chose to eat at other places out of convenience of where we were at whilst sightseeing. There is a Starbucks a little bit down the road (take right out of hotel, left at intersection, go up BTS to cross over to other side of Thanon Phaya Thai , Starbucks will be on your right - 100 yards? The hotel is a gorgeous, modern facility with numerous amenities and exceptional service. The staff are more than happy to provide the personalized service that the Thai are known for and demonstrate it on a regular basis. Services include multiple themed restaurants (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Italian, buffet, piano bar), pool/spa/gym, outdoor courtyard, […] and a nail & hair salon, though not as widely advertised. The hotel has a "Groovy Map" in the room for sale and is a great purchase that was very helpful! I brought adaptors to use in foreign countries (recommend it), but the outlet in the bathroom is only for small appliances such as an electric razor. Also, the blow dryer is provided in front by the computer outlet and can only be plugged into those outlets. I didn't find out about it until the third day, so my hair was happy after that. The location is not what I would consider a central location, but I don't know if I would classify any hotel as being in the middle of any particular district. Taxis, skytrain (train) and tuk tuks are common forms of transportation, but beware that Bangkok is not a "walker-friendly" city. Traffic is one of the highest areas in the world, so don't expect to get anywhere quickly unless you take the train. I loved this hotel and staff and would definitely return if in Bangkok again. We booked a last minute special on hotels.com that gave us a great deal for a night in the city. We had been spending our entire Thailand trip staying with family members, so we were more than ready for a comfortable night in a hotel, and this was the perfect choice. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and makes good use of the small footprint […] it takes up on this block in the Phaya Thai area of Bangkok. It has a great location a short walk from the skytrain station, which we took for some shopping at MBK mall. The room itself had everything I needed: a clean comfortable bed (relatively speaking, since most mattresses in Thailand are much stiffer than the pillow tops we've grown accustomed to here in the states), a lovely bathroom complete with a soaking tub and rainwater showerhead (SUCH a nice alternative when we'd been showering in traditional settings with the tub-and-basin method or the sometimes awkward open shower in a wet bathroom), and a mini-bar with whiskey that calculated out to much less than I would've spent in the bars at RCA later that night. The small room was beautiful, with lovely decor that didn't take away precious floorspace, a window to the bathroom so that I could mess with my husband while he was in there trying to do his...thing, and the service (including room service) was excellent as well. I'll try to stay here again if they have specials such as the one I found, and for its location to the train, shopping and RCA, as well as for the comfort of the room and quality of service. This hotel is very close to the BTS Skytrain which made getting around town very easy. I would recommend purchasing the room with the breakfast inluded (unless you plan on doing a lot of other things for breakfast), because when paying onsite it's much more expensive. One last thing: We waited until the day before our departure to think about having […] laundry done. Big mistake, becasue we had to use the express service with 100% surcharge. About 10 items (t-shirts, underwear, and a couple pairs of shorts) cost more than an entire night's stay in the hotel. There is an open sewer in the Soi (alley way) next to the hotel, which was nasty, but I'm unsure if that is in their control or not. In general many areas of Bangkok are dirty, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's a city thing. Read more

The hotel is in a great location near Victory Monument. Lots of shopping areas and restaurants near by. Close to BTS station and easy to access. However, the service from the hotel restaurant, Lin Fa was not satisfied us. Over all is good, but we may or may not stay there again. Could find other 4 stars hotels with better value.

The room was average, nice bathroom, very clean. The lobby and restaurants are beautiful, elegant art, spacious open areas. But it is off a busy 6 lane expressway in a neighbourhood that has nothing close by. Must take a taxi, which is cheap, to anywhere at all. Walking not an option. Fortunately it is not far from the action just isolated from it. […] Lovely staff. Read more

First time in Bangkok. The hotel is just a minutes walk to the skytrain (metro stop) and just a couple of stops to Siam Centre, one of the main shopping/entertainment hubs. Breakfast options were good. I didn't use many of the available facilities, but was still very imposed with the place

Nice location. Very convenient to the Airport Rail and Phaya Thai BTS. 2 - 3 mins walk. Phaya Thai station is 2 stops away from SIAM Central which is the main shopping belt. Recommended for those who prefer convenience of getting to and back from Airport.

all as you would expect, shame the curtains didn't close fully as after travelling for a day it wasn't ideal to wake when the sun came up about 6!
