Everything was fantastic except for the expensive and not-so-good food.

We liked the room and the restaurant. The beach was a short walk (Love Beach) and appeared to be a nice beach. We had poor weather so it was not conducive to going to the beach. The pool service was good and the food was quite tasty and a reasonable value.

just what we wanted, nice place, clean, quiet and relaxing, nice side beach and good food. beds very comfortable but very high off the ground, so if you have any leg, back or hip problems be careful.

The room itself was very nice and the view was amazing!. A couple of thoughts...the food leaves much to be desired. The cook staff is dreadfully slow. On Saturday, we ordered a simple omelette. It took over 45 minutes!! The other concern is that you really need a car if you are staying here. Compass is in the middle of no-where! You really can't walk […] to other locations (restaurants, hotels etc). There are buses during the day, which cost $1.50 per person. But, they come when they come, not good if you need to be someplace on time. Taxis are an option, but they cost $15-20 each time to town, which can be quite costly. So, if you want a quiet vacation, and like to read on the beach, then Compass will work for you. Be aware the food is expensive and the service is very slow. However, the view and the private beach is great! It is very quiet here. Might be nice as a honeymoon spot. Remember, you can't really walk anywhere around here, except on the beach. Read more

We loved our stay at Compass Point and will be back! The staff was so friendly and accomodating, the views were beautiful - it really was the relaxing getaway we were looking for. It's not a resort for kids, which we enjoyed, we wanted to relax poolside and we did! Absolutely gorgeous property! The rainbow colored cottages are so beautiful! The room was small but we knew going in that these were cottages, not a mega-chain hotel room. The room was very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfy. There is no beach area directly on the property but a short walk, 50 yards, is Love Beach. The resort owns a house there […] too so you have full access to the beach. We only saw a few other people at the resort other than the workers. It was like having a resort and beach all to ourselves! One day the only people we saw on Love Beach were two local young men fishing. They were very fiendly and let us fish with them on shore pointing out various mollusks, crustatians, types of fish, etc. You would never get that at mega-chain hotel! Drawbacks: Don't bring kids cause there is nothing other than a pool to occupy them and the property is on a ledge/rocky shoreline. The on site restaurant is the only place arund to eat. No restaurants or stores within walking distance. The restaurant is very expensive. Breakfast is included and was delicious! Knowing this we packed cans of chicken/tuna, trail mix, granola bars, etc. Bottled water was very cheap there. We took the local bus to downtown Nassau one day ($1.50 per person each way). Safe, clean bus. If you want a quiet, romantic, peaceful, private getaway in picture perfect surroundings then book Compass Point! We highly recommend Compass Point to anyone wanting a Bahamian getaway. The huts are more like nice studio apartments, and they're very private. I loved our stay at Compass Point. We definitely were looking for a quiet getaway, and the intimate scale and setting of this resort was great. The pool wasn't heated, and I thought the water too cold to enjoy in February. But the walk to Love Beach was easy and fun to walk ~1 mile or so west in the morning. We rented a car, so the isolation of the location wasn't an issue - we easily explored over to Nassau, Fish Fry, Paradise Island as well as drove around to other parts of the island to get a real feel for the island. I was afraid that we wouldn't get a great view since we didn't reserve the most expensive room, but every room has the most gorgeous view of the ocean. You have direct access to the beach, which is only steps from the front door of your room/bungalow. The resort was great all around - the only […] thing that I think people would want to know is that the downtown area is not close by. The only time that becomes in issue is at night. The bus system (which is very accessible during the day) stops running around 6pm, leaving you with the only option of taking a cab. A cab downtown runs about $30 each way - which can make for a costly night if you're just trying to go out for dinner. With that said, it didn't put a damper on our stay - it's just something I'd probably would have liked to have known ahead of time. We stayed at Compass point for part of our honeymoon. The hotel certainly lived up to our expectations, the views and setting were lovely. As has been previously mentioned the hotel is set out of the way of the main resorts, not really a problem for us as we were looking to relax and if we needed to journey anywhere taxi's and busses were on hand. What […] made this stay truely special were the hotel staff, particularly 'Wenzil', he made the evening meals extra special with his friendly conversations and making us feel most welcome. The food in the hotel was exceptionally good (maybe a little pricey - but you certainly got an great feed with top quality food. The downsides, no laundry service at the hotel, something I have not experience before - it meant a trip out to local launderette, something I would not expect from hotel of this type. Read more

Un hôtel vraiment unique et ravissant, plein de couleurs. Nous avions choisi une hutte : deux étages rien que pour nous. Face à la mer une kitchenette et une terrasse avec une table sur la mer : nous y avons mangé souvent. Le personnel est beaucoup moins sympa que sur le reste de l'île... La plage magnifique se trouve à côté de l'hôtel mais il n'y a […] pas de transats. Il faut savoir que l'hôtel est assez bruyant, juste à côté de la route et très près de l'aéroport. Le concept de ces petites maisons magiques fait toutefois oublier les désagréments. Il y a un arrêt de bus à quelques mètres qui vous conduit directement en ville. Read more

Lage nahe dem Flughafen - kurzer Transfer (Taxi 10-12 USD), aber leider auch Flugzeuglärm gelegentlich störend. Angeschlossen ist ein Restaurant mit hervorragendem Essen und guter Weinkarte; hier wird auch das Frühstück serviert. Dieses jedoch […] leider nicht in Buffetform, sondern in Form eines "Credits" in Höhe von 15 USD pp. anrechenbar auf die Frühstücksrechnung. Während unseres Aufenthalts waren leider mehrfach bestimmte Speisen der kleinen Karte nicht verfügbar. Zu empfehlen sind neben dem Lammrücken u.a. auch die Pizzen, welche es zwischen 3 und 5pm auch zum halben Preis gibt! Für alle Heiratswilligen: die Anlage ist hierfür hervorragend geeignet! Zeremonien können z.B. am Strand oder auf dem Jetty gehalten werden.
