"Old World Feel"
Great little gem of a hotel. Our room overlooked the park, with a group of local women doing tai chi in the am. Spacious and comfy, but dated carpet, drapes & bedspreads. Great bed, quiet, central location, excellent staff. Pricey room service & parking. Self park next block for less. Highly recommend for value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not at all impressed with service"
Well lets start with the Parking overnight at $50.00 Never mentioned just hand you a receipt as you are checking in and have your hands full. No mention of the cost but your checking in everyone is talking to you. Now lets talk about amenities. No Coffee in the room. No Ice and you need to call room service. Really! even Motel 6 has coffee in the room. […] I was not impressed at all. You would think that they have something for room comfort considering the price you pay for a room. Now I did hear that there is parking down the street for $35.00 a night but I guess I will be taking the train if I ever go to SF again. I might be crazy for thinking this way but I would rather give the $50 to the Grace Cathedral across the street than to pay that for a parking space for the night. I am glad it was only one night. It served its purpose though getting to spend quality time with my wife. :) The spa was very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The location of the hotel is quite nice. Your close to china town, fishermans wharf, financial etc. We had no car and had to walk to everything, however it was never more than a mile in any direction. Hotel is historic. Lobby beautiful, but as you go to your room you see essentially what it would be like 40 years ago... Rooms are all updated and look […] great. Was disappointed to find they did not provide free wifi in rooms and the fitness room needs some upgrades. Fitness room extremely basic, 2 treads, 2 bikes and some light dumbells in a 12x12 room. It was cute, but not really functional for someone that is a fitness regular. Staff was great, room was nice, large and very clean with all upgraded furniture and fixtures. I would recommend. Last comment that I feel would really help the Huntington, they should offer a shuttle service from Hotel to airport etc. I was very disappointed to hear that I had to pay $110.00 for a car to come pick me up. I opted for a shuttle for the 3 of us and it was $47.00. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great recommendation by friends"
Friends in San Francisco recommended the Huntington. They have excellent taste! The room was very nicely appointed, the bed extremely comfortable. Though not very big the room had everything I needed. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the bar nor restaurant but heard a lot of praise for both.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quaint Hotel on the Hill"
We arrived and the staff was very friendly. Our room was not ready yet, so we just waited in the lobby for a few minutes. Once in the room, we noticed the comfortable large bed and the nicely remodeled bathroom. I really loved the old style windows they had and the 1920's decor still in the staircase and hallways. The windows actually opened up and […] you could get fresh air. There were a few minor blemishes on the walls in our room and around the molding of the bathroom door, but it was nothing to complain about. Also, on our last day we came back from an outing to find a rollaway bed in our room that we had to have removed which was a little strange, but again nothing to worry about. I do have to say that being at the top of the hill has it's disadvantages like having to walk up the hill when you can't catch a trolley. The doormen were extremely approachable, but they gave us bad instructions as to where to get trolley passes. Overlooking that small matter, I would definitely stay there again. "We left our hearts there. . . ."
When we arrived, we were advised that the hotel had upgraded us to a larger room. Well, it was a suite! Like a small apt. We could have had a party in there! Also, they brought us iced coffee after we got into the room. Very nice place, with very nice traditional furnishings.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful old boutique hotel"
Large room with fantastic view of the city. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful. Great location near Chinatown, North Beach and the Financial District. Access to the spa is included and it was very relaxing.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Luxury Hotel close to everything"
We recently stayed at the Huntington on our way to maui for our honeymoon and we were so pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff here. The doorman was awesome and everyone from the front desk to the maids always had a smile. The hotel itself is older but it adds to the charm and the room we stayed in (junior suite) was […] very comfortable. All in all we had a great time and if we ever find ourselves in San Francisco again we will be at the Huntington. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"My favorite hotel in the City"
The location on Nob Hill sets the stage for a beautiful view, convenience to Union Square, Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf. The staff are genuinely kind, supportive and helpful. Priced well, great service, clean and a beautiful historic building! Close to cable cars...just a delight!Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay at The Huntington Hotel. Our most favorite item was the comfortable room. We had a King size with a view of the city. Within the room we liked the pair of comfortable sitting chairs, the supply of books, a clean bathroom, and a soft/firm bed. The weather for our stay was perfect and having room windows that opened allowed us to better […] enjoy our stay. The hotel staff was friendly. The maid service was well done each day. We enjoyed the evening turn down service. The bell men did a nice job also. They were friendly and took good care of us as we left and returned. For the early risers, they had coffee available in the lobby. The location of the hotel served us well. The Huntington is well located for touring the city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Huntington staff provided the best service that I've enjoyed in any hotel anywhere. The Big Four piano lounge was our favorite evening place ever.Genuine Expedia guest review
Met friends in the city for a night. Had a wonderful time. The hotel is lovely and the service staff at the front door, the desk, and in the bar are all first class. Will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Welll Kept Local Secret!"
This hotel is a well kept local secret!! It had been several years since I stayed at The Huntington Hotel. I tend to forget about it due to the fact that it sits in the shadow of The Fairmont and the Mark Hopkins Hotels. It is a quiet classic!! It is always very clean and neat and the staff is GREAT! I will be back many times over the next 12 months […] on business and will be staying at The Huntington!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the moment we stepped out of our car we were greated very warmly. Entering the lobby again a very warm hello and welcome. Our room was beautiful. The doorman was great upon getting us taxis for our ventures around San Francisco.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Nob Hill gem"
I arrived at the hotel on a Saturday night after a too long flight. The staff, from doorman to front desk to the house keeping were very pleasant, professional and very efficient. My room had a great view looking at the park and beyond. It was very clean, nicely furnished and large. The bathroom is also beautifully done and has top grade toileteries. […] My only tiny problem with the room was not having enough outlets in the places that you would expect to find them. I stayed at the hotel for four nights and have nothing but great memories. The hotel is at the apex of the Nob Hill and there are some excellent restaurants around. The hotel's restaurant is a little clubby and dark but there is live piano music and food is very good. The hotel is also at a walking distance from the major shopping areas of the Market Street if you don't mind the steep hills. Overall I recommend the hotel to everyone, and will stay there next time I am in San Francisco. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay...feels like home"
What a great way to start our stay in San Francisco! The moment we handed our car keys to the valet (thanks Albert), luggage delivery (thanks Ian) and to the check-in and check-out processes...it was the best staff services we've ever seen. This hotel has top notch customer service. Everyone was so friendly and very welcoming...even our 5-year old never […] felt homesick during our entire stay. He loved this hotel so much he wanted to move in. The staffs always welcome him with his name everytime we got back from our day's activities. The concierge was very helpful (thanks Cynthia, Nicholas really loved the surprise too) and Ian delivered our luggage very nicely to our room and gave us some great information about the area. The location was superb, walking distance to major attractions in downtown San Francisco like Chinatown, Ghiradelli Square, Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, financial district, etc. A very nice Huntington Park across the street became our son's favorite stop. The cable car stop is across the street, very convenient if you don't like long walks. Our room was always clean everytime we got back from our day's activity. The free printing at the business center came in very handy. Overall, it was a place we will always treasure and would loved to come back to over and over again when we come and visit San Francisco. "Best hotel in SF"
This was my second trip to the Huntington and I can't say enough good things about it. It is a CLASSY place. It so warm an inviting - located on top of Nob hill. The spa is beautiful and open to all guests at no extra charge. The bar in the hotel is amazing. The rooms are re-done, spacious and chic and compliment the vintage feel of the hotel so well. "Beautiful 90 year old hotel in Nob Hill."
We loved our junior suite in the Huntington Hotel. Our first stay in Nob Hill area, great spot. Located about 3 or 4 blocks north of Union Square, accessible by trolley. We also enjoyed cocktails in the lounge of the Big 4 Restaurant located downstairs. All staff was friendly & helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not as nice as I was hoping"
The room was a big disappointment. Very cramped and with a bathroom that looked like it hadn't been updated since 1975. The staff were nice enough. But next time I'll stay at the Mark Hopkins.Genuine Expedia guest review
"San Francisco Charm"
Wonderful find on Nob Hill! The service wonderful with the doormen waiting on you every time you walked into the hotel. Front desk staff pleasant and check in quick. Old San Francisco charm with nice rooms that have been updated. Our room over looking California Street, Pacific Union Club, the park and Grace Cathedral. A little noisey in the morning […] with street traffic, but we were up early anyway! Only problem was an elevator that was not working one morning and made getting up/down slow. I have stayed at the Fairmont for many years and found this to be a great find! Be sure to have a martini in The Big Four, the lobby bar/restaurant! We will stay again for sure!! "Value added in Nob Hill"
This was a terrific formal style, well kept hotel with modern enticing spa whose facilities were complementary for hotel guests. Welcoming and relaxing! We look forward to returning. "Charming old world hotel with fabulous spa"
Check in was wonderful - I was upgraded and asked for a late check out that was accommodated. I visited the spa twice, I had a facial with Claudine - she was amazing both technique and interpersonal skills. "top of nob hill and perfectly smooth service"
wow...we are so thankful for the last minute opportunity to book this magnificent hotel, and even more thankful for the outstanding service shown by the "Downton Abbey" perfect level of greeting at the car park, door, desk, room assignment -- with upgrade!!!!-- and luggage assistance. we actually called the hotel before booking and checked to see about […] specific room types and they suggested to book asap on the web and get the posted rate -- that was a surprise, but it worked out perfectly. for arriving guests, there is 30 minutes for complimentary parking in front for unloading and check in. ~$39 for valet in & out, and ~$29 for garage across the block at Grace Cathedral without in & out -- always advise checking for rates in real time due to San Francisco special events. 5 star all the way except how busy the obviously popular hotel restaurant and bar -- the Big 4 -- gets after 10 p.m. when the crowd simply was more than anybody can hope to stay ahead of for cleaning tables and checking in fast, etc. Still loved the live piano music...! Meanwhile, 5 stars again for room service and the whole desk and door team. Also, loved the L'Occitane products in the room and quality linens. They made this a memorable, and soon-we-hope-to-be-repeated stay on the pinnacle of Nob Hill. Thank you to all the folks at the Huntington! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historial neighborhood and hotel"
The hotel needs to be updated but keep some of the old charm. The neighborhood is amazing and I had a wonderful dinner at Nob Hill Cafe. I wish the room was a little more modern like the bath in my room. I did not use the spa on my stay but I loved shopping in the shop at the spa.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"I loved the location"
This was a nice hotel, in a great locations. Hotel needs some renovations. If you are going to have a car, expect to pay $40 per night. Cable car station is close, and a lot of shops and cafe within walking distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a grand old hotel but it desperately needs refurbishing. Having said that, the Nob Hill location is beautiful, the roof deck and plunge pool are relaxing, and - of course - it has the best bar in the city: The Big Four!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Can't find better service anywhere. Everyone was very nice and the concierge made the most amazing dinner reservations. Can't wait to go back.Genuine Expedia guest review

"THE San Francisco gem"
It's a truly wonderful hotel in the best possible location. The staff is courteous and friendly. The size is perfect. The room was very spacious with a terrific view. The bathroom was also very large with nice finishes. However, they could use some updating as far as the bath/shower is concerned, which had low water pressure, a non-adjustable shower […] head, and an icky vinyl tub mat. A big plus is that the windows open. However, our room filled with a food smell when we did so. This said, I'd stay here again in a New York minute! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
