The room was nice, the view was great and housekeeping was excellent. We would leave around 10:00 to sight see and come back around 3-4 pm and the room was made. It may be a minor thing to some to me it was extremely important.

I was upset at the fact there was no hotel staff or employees greeting at the entrance. I had to carry my luggage in yo the hotel and waited for 30 minutes to be helped. Needs improvements in service.

We travel quite frequently and we both agreed this was a top 5 resort when factoring in everything. We arrived at front desk to lady name Lani. She was wonderful and very informative. Motel was very clean. Resort workers were very outgoing and friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. We just couldn't think of anything negative to say about this place. The location was the closest to Waikiki Beach as you can get from the other side of the main street. Should we make another trip to Hawaii, this Marriot will be on top of our list.

While the lobby is undergoing an extensive overhaul/renovation/rebuild, all the front desk and concierge services were moved to the other side of the open-air atrium space, and things seemed to work just fine. Excellent service from the Concierge Desk.

For the price not too bad for what we got but after checking in and looking around on line we saw that for the same room rate we could have stayed on the beach in a better quality hotel. However, The Marriot Beachside was convenient, location was good and rooms were clean enough. We upgraded to an Ocean view room which cost an additional US$40 per day. We were settled and tired from out long flight over so we didn't try moving to another hotel. Overall the hotel is OK.

The room was modest and clean although a bit worn. The air conditioning was not very effective as we were either freezing or too hot with the one vent blowing directly on the bed. Great location but not up to the price paid or to a 4 star hotel standard. Will not be returning to this property.

We have a Marriott membership with our credit card so we were upgraded from a city view to a partial ocean view which we were happy about. The elevators worked very well. The hallways were updated and beautiful in the hotel but the hallways in the lounge area needed to be painted. Work was going on in the lounge area and it was very noisy. We felt that could be done during the off season. The closet and bathroom doors in our room needed to be replaced. The bottom of the doors was cracked in several places and the paint was chipped off. It is located across from Waikiki Beach so there is a lot of traffic and quite noisy; lots of sirens. Our relatives were staying in the Waikiki Sheraton and it was in much better condition but was less expensive. The outdoor fountains were not running. We expected much more from a Marriott hotel and were disappointed. We had to pay over $30 more a day for some services we did not use.

We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff is wonderful. From the first encounter with the Bellman to the housekeeping staff, everyone tried to make your stay enjoyable. There are great restaurants in the hotel, also many within a short walking distance. We will definitely stay here again!

everyone was nice....the "seattle's best" coffee lady was a bit stand-offish.....the door facing the mountains kept getting off it's track...so we had to fight to get it closed....the bathroom could use a "door"....we had to wash our hands...brush our teeth...etc...in the dark....so as NOT to wake the person still sleeping....that was odd....and our toilet kept running and running....we had to jiggle the handle a lot.....really no big deal....but....for the price....I guess I would expect a nicer....easier room....the view was good....

Almost everything was excellent, but there was one major exception. Unfortunately, our room was adjacent to a bank of seven elevators. At all busy times, and sometimes in the middle of the night, the noise was awful.

Great location. They charge for having a microwave in the room. But the partial ocean view is worth it. Don't forget they charge a daily resort fee. The room was great we were up graded to a room with 4 beds perfect for our stay.

It was an ok hotel. We picked the room from the picture and it was NOT the ocean view we ordered and they would not change for my parents. It was their dream vacation and they didn't get their dream view. The room was not cleaned very well. They were NOT flexible when it came to late check out... not because they couldn't but because they wouldn't. Our parents are in their 80s and they and their luggage had to wait in an hospitality room for three hours. Because it is a RESORT they were told they could not be flexible. Very disappointing. We will not be staying there when we go. We will go to a smaller hotel that has a little more flexibility and respect for their customers.

Lee booked a king size bed, of course upon check in they said they didn't have any except by the elevator. The elevators are so old and noisy it kept us up all night. Front desk took 20 rings to answer. The room door stuck so much you had to use your shoulder to enter. The toilet kept running and running. Horrible!

Checking in late at night with nobody else waiting, the front desk ran through the intro at an auctioneers pace and seemed to want to get rid of me more than welcome me. Checking out was much more pleasant. The location and facility were excellent, and the housekeeping staff in the hallways were very pleasant and friendly. However, the bathroom in my room was dirty upon my arrival, long hair left in several areas in plain sight, not just in the corners or under the counter. I was too exhausted to deal with it when I checked in, but for the money you pay in that area, you should expect exceptional service at the desk and from housekeeping. Since this location is right next to the beach, there were more homeless people approaching me in the evening than when I stayed a few blocks away at the Courtyard by marriott. I will probably look elsewhere next time I stay in Waikiki.

Staff were pleasant; room was clean, but pretty basic. Hotel is across the street from the beach. Our tower was a block from the beach with a newer tower between our tower and the beach. Overpriced for what you get.

Hotel was great. We had a family room, which had 2 double beds and 2 twins with plenty of space. Pool areas were nice, though shaded until about 12:30pm (we hit the beach for that). Great location, with most places walkable along the Waikiki strip.

As usual the Marriott was great but on this trip the maid never replaced soap or shampoo daily and with more than one person in a room this was necessary and not done.

I would never stay here again. Small dumpy room. They just give you a couple towels. Needs a remodel from top to bottom. Pay extra and stay at the Trump!!!

Great location! We were upgraded to an ocean view and we had an unobstructed view of the beach and sunsets.

The location of the hotel was very convenient. Close to the beach that is great for kids and close to many eating places. The rooms are a bit small and if you open you balcony door it is loud.

Nice hotel and value for money. Close to everything you need (except a pharmacy). In room dining pricey but the breakfast was plenty. Lots of alternatives within a few steps. Easy shuttle connection from airport saves $$

Had 2 queen beds. Hard to find for a reasonable price. Plenty of room.

We were pleased with our stay here. It's not a new hotel, but it's been well maintained and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others. The concierge service was excellent.
