Overpriced but with fall discount it's reasonable. The rooms are spacious, ultra clean and modern with comfortable beds and wide screen TV, relatively quiet. Close to upscale shopping and eateries, eg. Whole Foods Market and conveniently off the 5 freeway. Parking is way too expensive so I tried to park on the street. Also, no exercise room of their own, you have to pay a $13 gym fee to use an adjoining separate workout place. We are tennis players and couldn't use the tennis courts without paying a fee. Tennis courts were terrible anyway, as they are slanted and poorly paved. So basically a nickel and dime experience unless you stay in your room which is the best part of being there. Would stay there again if I could catch a discount.

The hotel was very nice. Although we thought that the parking was expensive. Valet was an addtional 25 dollars and self park was 20 dollars a day. There is no complmentary coffee or coffee maker in room because they have a starbucks there. so if you want a cup of coffee its going to cost you. The room was nice the only problem was that it smelled like armpits, but housekeeping did take care of it. The pool was nice but very cold so its not a heated pool.

The staff here is very friendly from beginning to end. The rooms are bright and roomy.Housekeeping needs improvement on delivering quicker service. We called twice and it took over 45 mins just to get extra towels. If you like fitness, there is an extra cost to use their facility, which we were disappointed about. We were accommodated with a refridgerator and microwave immediately upon request.

Great value relative to other hotels in the area. We opted to stay here, at a four star hotel a little further from SeaWorld, than at the 2 1/2 star hotels at Hotel Circle a couple of minutes from SeaWorld. The drive to SeaWorld was only about 10 minutes and it was a much nicer hotel. Only complaint is that there was not a refrigerator in the room.

The Hyatt Regency significantly exceeded my expectations! The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. My daughter left her teddy bear at the restaurant next door and we couldn't retrieve it before we left San Diego. The staff went over and picked up the teddy bear and overnighted it to my home the very next day. The facility and grounds are beautiful. The pool and cabanas were very relaxing. Room service was great- try an omelette- it's great. The adjacent health club is a full-service gym with a variety of activities. It was a great place to work out. Overall, the experience was fantastic.

Housekeeping comes by at a certain time (not specified) and if you are still present in the room, they'll skip your room and will not return until the next day because "the housekeeper knocked on your door and you were still inside". There's no convincing them to come back to make the bed, at all!! no exceptions are made...but they can provide you with extra towels. worst thing about this location is the parking. if you're lucky, you'll be able to find parking in the street, otherwise, pay $25 for Valet and $20 self-parking...a day!! did not visit the pool or jacuzzi because it is literally right next to the streets and freeway.

If you're ever in the La Jolla/UCSD area and need a nice, clean, comfy place to stay, Hyatt Regency has it all. The location is great. Close to La Jolla downtown, and the University itself. There are restaurants close by, including the 2 at the hotel. The attendants were very helpful and tried their best to meet our needs. The only thing is if you don't want to pay $20-25/night for valet or self-parking, you'll have a bit of trouble looking for parking at night.

The Hotel itself is nice, however, something should be done with the parking situation. One hour parking is $ 4.00. We had a rental and did not feel comfortable leaving it at the side of the road. Overnight parking is $ 20.00. We parked for an hour for check-in and paid $ 4. We left for sightseeing and came back late that night and left the following morning for our other destination but had to pay the $ 20 overnight parking; so in total $ 24 for Self-Parking!

Bottle water in room was $3.00 no notice that I would be charged, parking $20 per day, nothing mentioned at the time that bookings were made. The hallway had an awful smell from elevator to room. The bathroom faucet did'nt work properly. The room decorations was nicely arranged the bed slept well the tv HDTV was nice. I don't think that I would stay there again

The drain in the tub did not work properly and after the first night we called housekeeping. They said they would get right on it but the next morning it was the same thing. After three days it's probably still draining! Fortunately there are other excellent hotel choices in the area as I will not return to this Hyatt.
