"In walking distance to Cruise Lines"
The hotel was in a great location, free parking, refreshing outside pool, staff very helpful. It was a very humid night and the air conditioner was having trouble. The staff was very willing to bring us a nice fan. If we ever cruised out of NYC I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our first trip to NYC"
We came to NYC to do all the normal things tourists do. We went around the Statue of liberty, saw the Lion King, went to America's Got Tallent, visited the Memorial, toured central park and saw Time Square, and went to Good Morning America at ABC. It was a wonderful experience. We used the bus, rode in a Taxi, and took the subway. We felt safe, and […] had a great time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Favorite Location in NYC"
We have been staying at the Travel Inn since 1998. It is clean, comfortable, and was refurbished a few years ago. The neighborhood is busy and safe with a police station right across the street, a grocery store a block away, and restaurants nearby. The staff is always pleasant and polite. The two best things are 1) free parking at the hotel and 2) location […] - about a 10-15 minute walk along 42nd St to Times Square and the Broadway theaters. Subway locations are at the bus station ( 2 blocks away) and in Times Square. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good - but baffeling slow internet"
Excellent location, free parking, good clean rooms with fridge, good service, optional/additional breakfast next door was fine. Did not use the pool, but it seemed like a good option for the ones travel with kids that needs a break from the streets. However the only hotel on a three weeks trip with paid internet access - which turned out to be the slowest, […] and when I say slow it was very slow - like dial up access for the ones that remember that. I would stay there again, especially if you bring a car. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Acts Like a 3-Star"
Acts Like a 3-Star meaning I saw the Travel Inn rated 2 stars somewhere. Rooms were bigger, cleaner, and comfy beds and pillows -- better than internet photos. Carpeting had a stain (my only demerit). Easy walking to Broadway Shows, subway, Times Square, and dozens of neighborhood restaurants. CVS across the street, Deli next door for easy breakfast […] in our room. 2 blks fr West Hiway for quick cab rides south. Staff friendly, but we are polite and low maint. Pool is huge and much better than most. Bldg across st is 3 stories so we didn't have that loud canyon feeling for 6 days. Would definitely return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean, friendly, good location, beds were not as comfortable as they could have been. Included parking was a bonus And the pool was quite large although we really didn't use it much. I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Their staffs never smile. But the hotel is a fair choice considering the location and the parking facility.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean low priced hotel"
We stay at the Travel Inn whenever we go into Manhattan. Probably been there 20 times. It's clean and conveniently located near Time Square. The hotel offers free parking (the only hotel in the city) and we just drive in and park the car in their indoor garage. This isn't a 5 star hotel but it is always clean and comfortable. We will be returning in […] the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Free Parking 10 minute walk from our theater"
Wow! This is our new hotel when we go to NYC. The parking staff is friendly and accommodating, desk staff a little less so but OK and the room was great. Did we mention that they also have a nice roof-top pool? There is a good deli/family restaurant next door that serves reasonably priced simple food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extremely convenient to the Signature Center."
Walked across the street to the theater and dining. So convienent.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Travel Inn Manhattan"
The Travel Inn was easy to get to. Come through the Lincoln tunnel, make a few turns and you are in the hotel. Not sure how many parking spaces the hotel have, but we are instructed to park at the lower level near the hotel. I got the 3rd floor hotel room facing the street. You can hear traffic all night long. The curtains does not close, so you also […] have all this lights shining through the window. There is a fridge, but no microwave. The bathroom light is very dim. Bath tub valves are the old style type. Good access to subway, and can walk down to time square. They expect you to move your car once you checked out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was very nice! The staff was kind and helpful. We arrived 3 hours prior to check in and they allowed us to park in their garage while we went site seeing and grabbed a bite to eat. (FREE PARKING) The room and rest of the hotel was very clean. Great Price! Location was Great, only 4 blocks from Time Square and 3 from the Theater district. "Will be back!"
Although the décor was a little outdated, the hotel was close to everywhere we wanted to be. Taxi drivers knew the location and were close at hand. There was a 24 hour CVS and police station across the street and a 24 hour urgent care clinic next door. Really nice for an accident prone family! Lol Just blocks from Times Square and moments from excellent […] Broadway theatres. The 8 foot deep outdoor pool on the third floor was an extra bonus. The staff was friendly and helpful. Conveniently located on West 42nd St, just off the West Side Highway....with included garage parking. The Travel Inn could use a little up-dating. However, the price is reasonable for NYC, the pool is clean and the rooms are good sized. Good deal if you are driving into NYC.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"No Frills, But Clean, Convenient and Affordable"
We don't go to NYC to hang out in our room. That said, the location, included parking and cleanliness of the rooms makes this a great place. They don't trip over themselves to kiss your butts, but who cares? That's not why we go to NYC, either! This is our second year in a row staying here and we will continue to go back. We drive in ... stay for 3 […] or 4 days ... then drive out. Walked to Times Square in about 15 minutes. About a 30-35 minute walk to Central Park. It's right in the middle of H.'s Kitchen. There's a grocery store that is steps away. A fridge and microwave in the room. Again ... if you're looking for posh, snobby/fake concierges, or glam - this isn't your place. If you'd rather save your money for the fun stuff and know you have a clean room to go back to each night - this is your place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very small and uncomfortable"
stayed one night on a road trip The check in was quick and professional but very impersonal and almost unfriendly. The check in area smelled of strong disinfectant. The rooms were behind in another building through which you have to walk through the garage area and smelled of urine, paint and pinesol All of this could be tolerated but the beds were […] extremely hard and squeaked when you just sat on them. "Clean Hotel close to Time Square"
This Hotel is very clean and very close to Time Square, the Circle Line boat tours and many restaurants. The mini fridge and microwave were a bonus and very nice to have. The only negative was it was very hot in New York during our stay and the A/C did not cool the room well. The lobby was very cool, but the rooms never got to a comfortable temperature. The […] temperature did drop some, but it still was not what we were use to and it was uncomfortable. I was in NY with some friends for a girls weekend. This hotel is in a great location and the rooms were clean, decent, and a good size. We were really pleased with this find for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pretty much everything about this place was terrible! The biggest problem was NO AIR CONDITIONING! The room had an ancient air conditioning that did not work. Great hotel - very clean. I stayed here due to business in NYC. The hotel was close to the office. (Would especially recommend for travelers with children - due to the nice pool). EASY ACCESS FROM LINCOLN TUNNEL, FREE IN DOOR PARKING, NICE POOL IN THE WARM WEATHER. THIS TRIP I WAS GIVEN A ROOM THAT HADN'T BEEN CLEANED. THE FRONT DESK IMMEDIATELY UP GRADED ME TO A POOL SIDE ROOM. THE WATER PRESSURE IN THE BATH ROOM SINK WAS VERY LOW. "Tiny Room/Great Location"
Don't attempt to check in early, we were hoping to get in a bit early to change before our Broadway show... Nope. I asked if there was somewhere to put our bags until we could check in... "You can leave them in your car." They did allow us to park in the lot before we checked in at 3 PM. The hotel room was extremely small and beds very uncomfortable […] - hard and squeaked with every move. There were no extra blankets or pillows in the room. The bathroom was dirty - hair on the wall, etc. Other then the lobby attendant handing me my room key and giving me the room number, we had no contact with the staff. Entry into the room was via an elevator in the parking garage. The hotel is situated over a train track so we heard trains passing by all night. The hotel pool was nice but the hours are slim - 11 AM to 7 PM daily. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"free prking near times square"
Easy drive through Lincoln Tunnel to hotel. Great place if your are arriving in Manhattan in your own car. Short walk to Times Square or subway. This is not the " H Kitchen" of the 1970s. Neighborhood seems safe enought. Hotel itself is adequate, nothing fancy but you can't beat the convenience for a driving traveler.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I've been to the travel inn a few times, and for the location it's a great price plus, free parking! The location is great it's a few minutes walk from the 12th avenue docks, or a short bus ride (crosstown) to Times Square! The travel inn will always be my number one pick for places to stay in NYC!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"No frills hotel in theater district"
This hotel was fine for what we needed and was definitely the least expensive in this area. The room was clean and the cleaning staff was helpful. There was a lot of street noise but this is in the heart of NYC. They have a relatively large outdoor pool that was very refreshing after a day of walking the city. "Close to everything!!"
We (2 adults and 2 kids ages 14/10) had a great experience here. After reading the bad reviews, we were hesitant, but it was a pleasant stay. Made sure and asked for a room facing the pool and not the street (noise). We arrived early and were able to put our bags in the room (thank you) unexpected. The pool area is nice if you have kids. It could stay […] open longer, closed at 7. Hotel always smelled very clean. Front desk staff very helpful with suggestions/directions. So nice to just walk out of hotel and be so close to everything. Subway and Port Authority within blocks. There is a 7-11 and Subway that we took total advantage of cheap items and took to our room. If you want a fancy place then go a few blocks up and pay double the price. If you are a family on a budget and don't have to have to be pampered, I would recommend this place. Only complaint was that the beds were very hard. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Don't Go. Too Far off the Beaten Path."
42nd street is great, but 10th Ave. is just too far. After walking all day in Manhattan, getting back to the hotel was TIRING...and not very pleasing. It is outdated, bordering on run-down. The pool is NOT HEATED., and it closes at 7pm....pretty disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
Paying almost $500 for 2 nights at this place may have been the worst money I've ever spent. I never complain or post emails like this, but I felt compelled to write this since it was the only part of my mini-NY vacation that was terrible. The good was that the room was clean and didn't have any funny smells. The bad...I am still waiting for my 8:45am […] wakeup call 4 days later. The remove didn't work. The heat lamp in the bathroom didn't work. The "Queen" size bed was the size of a double from 1942. The UGLY...you can hear everything, voices, calls, elevators, knocks...from all the rooms in this place. They all seem to stop both nights at 1am, so if you don't mind staying up till then, you are fine. If you want to go to bed at 11pm, forget it, the loud banging sounds from the actual hotel (not people) still settling from years ago will keep you up. Avoid this place! Over priced and not worth it. "Sad to Say"
Over-all the sights, restaurants, location and the visit to New York was great. However....the service at the hotel left a lot to be desired. There was no coffee pot in the room nor was there any coffee to be found in the hotel any where.. We had to go next door and the cafe wasn't open all the time. Only certain hours. The beds were very hard and noisy. […] Every time I moved the bed would make noise. It was like sleeping on a hard piece of plastic. We had to ask for some toilet paper one day. Apparently the cleaning lady forgot to leave a spare roll. I found the personnel not very friendly or cooperative. We had asked them one night when it was raining if they could get us a cab, but they never did. We had asked them about some Theater tickets and they referred us to a computer. Wouldn't talk to us at all about them. They were very UN-cooperative and very un-friendly to say the least. . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
