"Night at the jameson"
We recently stayed at the Jameson for a weekend family get away. Upon arrival we were greeted by an amazingly friendly staff. The hotel is in good condition, it's a little out dated with decor but clean. We really enjoyed the hotel there was plenty of restaurants and things to do near by. "Work in progress. Staff accommodating."
1st non smoking room smelled strongly of smoke. 2nd room walking down the hall I spied a cigarette butt on the carpet. When I got to the room the door was resting open. (realized the door did not close when one walked out. It had to be pulled closed.) Locked the door covered the floor with towels and went to bed. Next morning, a comotion about someones car in the lobby. Should have taken them behind closed doors to sort out the problem. Breakfast: Had to get someone from the lobby to replace missing plastic ware, juice/coffee, many tables not clean to sit. The lobby comotion was utilizing staff in other areas so DR was not being taken care of. Bagels cut in half made me feel like I was being rationed. The room was not well lit giving it even more of a grungy feeling. Could tell the Lobby was being up dated by piece meal. I'd close a floor and do it right, then each floor after that till done. "Run down, but staff is friendly and helpful"
There were many areas within the motel that had severe water damage, including a crumbling wall in my room's bathroom. There were several ceiling tiles missing in the restaurant where the continental breakfast was served - very close to the food. The carpet was very wet. There was a 4' x 4' area of the wall across from the one (of 3) operating elevator […] that had obvious water damage...the wallpaper appeared to be about to fall off. The continental breakfast was pretty scant on selection. There were people on either side of us who left their doors open and went back and forth most of the night, argued loudly and had their TV on loud. On a good note, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was very convenient. We had everything we need including refrigerator and the use of microwave in the lobby. Breakfast was good and room commodities were fine. Staff members and choufers were very nice and greetingly. We were happy with the hotel we chose because for the price we payed for 8 days it was fabulous and had what you need. "Worn Down and falling apart"
This was not even a decent stay. All I needed was a room with a bed but Jameson hotel claimed to have wifi in room, refrigerator, microwave, ect... There was non of these and the room was falling apart. The first room they assigned me wouldn't open when the key was put in. The person at the front desk told me that even if she gave me a second key it […] probably wouldn't work. When she assigned me to a different room the key did work but as I looked around the room the wall paper was peeling off the wall and when I looked closer to it I pulled the curtain and a cockroach was climbing up the wall. Since there was many things going on that weekend there were very few rooms available without spending over $100. I was alone without my family so I decided to stay, if they were there I would have left since they wouldn't give a refund. The next morning I woke up and went downstairs to see what type of breakfast they offered that was advertised to be included. Doughnuts, bagels, cereal, toast... expecting the basics,nothing extravagant but there was bare minimum. I went during the middle of their "breakfast time" and they had three cereals offered but only one gallon of milk in the refrigerator. Bagels and bread were by the toaster but there were no knives or butter/jelly for after they were toasted and about half dozen bananas. It took 5 times to finally get our room correct, 1st time - Key didn't work, 2nd time was not a double bed (as requested), 3 rd time key didn't work, 4th time a/c didn't work... The room we ended up in, had a leaky faucet.. which made the water change from hot to cold while taking a shower.. then while brushing my teeth, noticed the sink didn't drain! […] The next day while at my convention I get a text from my husband saying the pool was green, and would not be going swimming. We had 2 rooms, both were clean but the heating unit in one room was terrible. It was ice cold when we arrived and did warm up until about 2 in the morning, then it became too hot. The breakfast in the morning had next to nothing and was only open from 7 to 9 and we were there at 8. There was some bread for toast, 2 muffins and no bagels. In the cereal […] bins there was only enough cereal for 1 bowl of cereal except fruitloops. However, the few bowls that were there were stuck together. Also, the gallon of milk was mostly frozen. I'm not sure what anyone coming in after us could eat and no employee seemed to be overseeing the dining room. In addition, there wasa lot of water damage. "Cost versus quality"
This is one stay I'm glad I didn't have my children with me. It worked for a place to sleep, but that's about it. It was raining while I was there and the main floor had several buckets catching water from leaks. On my floor the ice machine was leaking water and the hallway carpet was saturated. There was no warning posted as I walked thru it and rolled […] my luggage acrossed it. I reported it to the front desk, thinking they may not have known about it. Wrong, she said she had been waiting on maintenance since that morning to fix it. "Disgusting Hotel that should not be called Hotel"
Upon checking - 1. The room was filthy... I had to clean the bathroom because housekeeping was not available to do so. 2. The bathtub tiles where falling off the wall and the tub had the appearance of some sort of substance inside of it. 3. The beds were old and lumpy with "white" sheets, more like the sheets were multicolored from white to dingy white […] to yellow supposed to be white. 4. There was stains on the pillows which I choose not to use, one of the stains was clearly blood. 5. The Wifi which was nonexistent even though I found 13 access points. 6. Breakfast was "included" but when went down for breakfast there was no food available. 7. I registered my complaint at the front desk the only response I got was "you should not have had to do that" and the manager was not there. I called the BBB, registered my complaint here, and contacted the Department of Health and reported this hotel. If you're in indianapolis and have to stay at a hotel near the airport, DON'T choose this hotel. I booked a room with a king size bed for a set price on hotels.com, when I arrived the manager tried to put me in a double room saying that if I wanted a king room it would cost more. Upon getting to the room I originally booked I found it to be filthy, the carpet was sticky and bathroom looked like it had something spilled all over the floor. When I checked the bed I found several long brown hairs belonging to a female suggesting that the sheets hadn't been cleaned after the previous use. The restaurant/bar looked like it hadn't been in use in months.when I asked a different desk clerk about vending machines he said that there were not any on the property and that the nearest gas station was about a mile away,this was bad due to the fact that I turned my rental car in before checking in. I ended up walking to the gas station and then to a dennys about 3 miles away for dinner.at least I got some excercise. The only good part about this experience was the shuttle service to the airport at 4am, it was on time and got me to the airport in a safe and timely manner. I typically don't complain about rooms, as I travel all over the country for events, sometimes staying in campers, etc. However, I'd have rather saved the money and slept in my truck. "Potential Code Violations - Overworked staff"
We checked in and the door wouldn't open using the key card. Manager told me "I'll open it for you just this once and we'll have maintenance come to the room tomorrow and fix it" I explained that was impossible as we we were traveling with small children....you get the picture. The replacement room was found, and there were no trash cans and very few […] towels. The carpet was so dirty that we told our kids to keep their shoes on. Had it not been early morning hours, we would have abandoned the hotel but we also knew that all the hotels were booked in the Indy region that weekend. I could elaborate beyond seeing puke in the parking lot and drunks leaving their cars in front of the loading area... The second night was loud, and uncomfortable but we toughed it out and all agreed we would never return to a Days Inn for the remainder of our lives. The staff on hand didn't rotate - and from what I could tell - were wearing the same clothes on Sunday morning as they wore on Friday evening when we checked in. You get what you pay for. I knew we were in for an experience when the hotel offered a cheap weekly rate M-F and had more chains controlling the flow in the parking lot than overhead lights. "Won't go back"
We were there only 1 night. A lot of the "amenities" were not available. The ice machine on our floor was inoperative.
